Sweet tie! Definitely going to give it a o! Maybe I just have sensitive eyes but I actually found that the reflection off the white shirt put strain on my eyes and made it harder to define the yellow part.
@@halvo11 I got 20 lb mono today, I heard that is a good size, I have been making them with 30lb because that’s what I had laying around. I am starting to make more big streamers because I have been catching some big trout on them
My big problem with mono when you are talking trout sizes is mono is so slick, when you catch a small rainbow or something on the rear hook---the mono always wants to spin around the hook a little, then you have to tweak it to get it to swim right again. FWIW, I have never had the wire rust.....I always lose the flies in wood or rocks WAY before that ever happens.
@@flyfishingtheozarks I’ve used mono for a little bit and hadn’t have a problem with it yet, I have only caught 3 trout on the streamer, but none of them were small. Only one got the back hook, and it was 18” the other 2 hit the front one and were 14.5” and 17.5”
I'm new to the channel but since I'm witnessing you be a tying master, I have a question, do you think it would be possible to tie clousers and surf candy flies with SF fiber? A buddy of mine gave me a bunch of colors and not sure what other patterns to tie other than micro minnows I'm a northeast flyfisherman going for mainly striped bass and blues (and the suprise fluke hahaha) I'm not sure if you have any experience with that type of fishery but I figure since you know a ton about tying flies, I'd figure I ask haha Also any thought on Softex epoxy? Sorry for the big ramble on comment Thanks for the videos they're awesome!
Thanks! You can ABSOLUTELY tie Clousers and Surf Candies with SF Fibers. I actually like Clousers tied with Synthetic materials a lot better than those tied with bucktail.
Matt has some sweet pike / musky flies. That is one I have been waiting to find a video on. You friggin knocked it out of the ballpark. Go Tigers...
That thing swam absolutely beautifully. I need to tie a couple different sizes and colors. Thanks for sharing.
They are fantastic in the water....for sure.
Nice fly Brian. I couldn't tell what all of the fibers were in first part of the video. Was it EP Fiber? Keep the good stuff coming.
Sweet tie. That chinchilla saddle hackle is a nice touch on the back end.
That is something I don't do very much at all. Matt does that type of thing a lot and I always think it looks so good!

Dang! I tried to make it easier to see!
@@flyfishingtheozarks Haha. No I'm not criticizing. just thought you'd appreciate the feed back. Keep up the good work!
Yes! Yes! Thank you Brian!!
You are so welcome!
Couldn't be a video without thread being broken, and a heart being broken.
Exactly!
What is the long green material you tied on after the Polar flash?
Craft Fur
@@flyfishingtheozarks Thanks.
What wire do you use for articulating them? I use mono because that is all J got but I want to do wire sometime. Thanks
Mono works best for trout and bass sizes. Wire will rust eventually and it can kink out on you.

@@flyfishingtheozarks Thanks for replying! I'm definitely going to tie some after work today!
Funny you say that. I’m looking for a buck tail substitute. Something finer and more flowing. What do you use.
Bet that thing catches hella bluegill
For sure!
This fly would scare most species 🎯🐟
