Rush just got increasingly bad. It was all the techno bullshit. they started doing reggae beats because The Police were huge. really bad decisions.

They got bad alright but not in the period you reference. Working with a sycophantic fanboy producer like Nick Unpronounceable as opposed to an equal working partner like Terry Brown did not produce great results.
