The Buddy 125 is a great scooter. I had one for 5 years (before it was totaled). I kept track of every gas fill and averaged 92 mpg for 5 years - although I don't drive aggressively. One of the best scooters out there for the money.
Great review. I am looking at buying my first scooter, and the reviews and videos for the Buddy 125 have all been great. So, I think I am sold on the Buddy. The Buddy will be great for getting around San Diego, and our weather is good for year-round cruisin round town without the expense, maintanance , or other cost to operate a car.
Great video! I got a bit sentimental seeing you scoot around downtown Rochester while sitting here in Atlanta. Glad to see scooters catching on in the mitten.
Had my 125 for three years now. Very comfortable cruising with in town traffic 35-45 range for most part. I do avoid high speed major highways and interstates taking side street routes instead but its fun to ride. I just don't recommend interstates. The sheer blast of wind from a 18 wheeler can be unnerving. I am an older more conservative rider so take that in account.
I've been looking at these buddys for my mom. Ive had old vespas and love them but have heard great things about these. Thanks for posting this great review. And dont mind all the haters posting, who really cares what you ride, its a utilitarian thing, if the best thing about you or your identity is your motorcycle then your probably a bore anyhow.
I just saw the review I just picked up one of these with 3000 miles I love it already Ive had 250 motorcycles and totally happy with my scoot where are you at in Rochester is that Minnesota?
Most Vespas had three speed autos. Most of the new automatics are actually CVT's, which are light years beyond the old three speeds. Genuine does make a manual, sporty scooter (the Stella) and it has a very classic look to it. Affordable, too. :)
Do you recommend this Buddy scooter? Seller says it needs a carburetor my mechanic says it's fishy, it only has 90 miles mileage. What do you suggest? Asking $800
UGH! ANOTHER amputee hostile feature! you can't turn it on unless you hold the brake lever with the hand you don't have and you can't lift the seat to gas it up either! BOOOO!!! the auto transmission is USELESS if you can't put gas in it or start it up.

Good review. I was looking for a dependable scooter to get around college and to work. Thanks for the test drive footage.
He's right... I've had both. a 2004 Yamaha R6, and now this scooter in black.
Better than professional reviews, Thanks.

That part from 4:00 to 4:10 looked like a clever imitation of a fashion model's runway walk :D
@neothespian I gave you a thumbs up just for this line: "more leather gear than a Pride Festival S&M float." Well played, sir.
Ive had my buddy for 2 years awesome ride I can hit 60 mph gps indicated
Looks very small and light for a 125. I want one! That windshield looks solid and isn't shaking-some are so cheap and thin.

That was about the most perfect review. Thanks
I am getting a Buddy 125. I was worried about the 10 inch wheels, no one who reviewed this scooter mentioned it.
Great review on a great Scooter!
Does the windshield affect the speed?
I am gonna get myself one of these!!
you mean 90mpg not 90mph right?

The carbs are simple to get to and service but I would offer $500 to,see if he takes it.
But it's TOO LOUD, I have a 2T scooter and it's A LOT quieter. Well, the quality should be good for that price :O
:28 - :34
"But really, this 125cc feels like it's quicker than the 125cc."
Interesting...
I'm six one you look like you are tall too I want the 170i any tips
how tall was the test rider?
Its a nice little scooter. Not sure why people are so mad at you for making this video? Nice peaceful neighborhood it looks like where you are. :P
We have some family members who have Buddy's and they love them. As for me, I will stay with my Yamaha Majesty 400.
Lol, the lady at 5:48

funk toon you can start it with one hand no problem.
Wow, a scooter designed to be ridden using 2 hands. Go figure.
