Of course, the plant has leaves -- they are very slender and long. In this video, the leaves are not shown -- maybe they were taken off the plant or had dried out.

@@kashishthakur696 yup, true. But, with suitable conditions, it can be forced bloomed. An experiment was carried out in Pune and they were successful in doing it.

Amazing hard working peoples great to know how saffron is grow very tasty spices lovely videos ,
In olden days (before establishment of agriculture department and seed selling companies came into existance) farmers used to cultivate paddy(paddy taken as example only) , at time of harvest they used to find the strong paddy seed in their own crop and keep aside for next crop sowing and rest are consumed, this cycle used to get repeated with storing seeds from old crop in their own fields.
Now I have a question can u show or tell how seed grown on plant of saffron(as I see flower itself is the plant here), else collect the information how people used to grow saffron when there were no sellers of bulbs (your great great grand fathers might have also cultivated , how did they do?)
