Watercolor Techniques, Working Wet into Wet, and more...Painting a Mushroom

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer! It's nice to start back up. I thought for our first fall lesson, it would be fun to paint this colorful mushroom. My watercolor painting is jam packed with lessons including how to paint wet into wet washes, how to use masking fluid, how to create form, and layering watercolor paint.
In researching the mushroom is from Japan, though I heard their in the Pacific West and other regions of the world. I thought it would be a nice welcome back for Donna and Sherry, who have been vacationing in Japan...Can't wait to hear the details of their trip.
My photo reference is from Unsplash and I'm located at the New England School of Fine Art for anyone who's local. I hope you enjoy watching and maybe try painting along!
