    I always watch your fishing videos, and very much enjoy them. I never really watched any of the fly tying videos until recently. They are very enjoyable as well.

    Watching anyone do a pinch wrap and have the materials perfectly set always makes me really miss having two hands, lol. Tie on FFF. Thank you very much for the learnin’.

    I always find the patterns you guys tie on Fly Fish Food to be top notch. I really appreciate you guys taking the time to show us both new patterns and well tied older patterns!

    Thanks for sharing. It's nice to be able to work with some natural materials in the world of synthetics. Great pattern and I've caught a ton of trout on the 20".

    I like the body in this version better than the other I just tied. Tighter control over the final shape.

    Cheech, nice friends & family tutorial, my condolences to your aunt on her pet "Fernando". I've heard of this pattern but never tied it. I know this is how you tie this pattern, but do you prefer the turkey dull side up? I've tied pretty involved stone patterns but settled on generic nymph patterns that are tied just like this, except for the biot tail. Nice tip on the underbody to build a taper, I do an underbody of brown rabbit on my zugbugs now and the catch rate improved. The loon stuff you used on the turkey looks good, I've used Dave's flex cement but it gunks up. Artist fixative or cheap hair spray works too.
    In any case I like the natural materials, thanks again. 👍

      This turkey was pretty similar in color on both sides. But yeah, tie the vibrant side up if you get some dope turkey tails.

    I find that an even number of turns of lead catches more fish than the odd number! I like 12 turns. Great fly.

    Not mashing barbs? what kind of yuppies you got watching this? some people still fish to eat them or do they even know they are edible.

    Classy tie. Easier way to do an underbody though lol. Unistretch. Pretty sure you sell that too.

    • @FlyFishFood

      It just adds tying in another material. Buildup is minimal on a size 10. Maybe with bigger sizes.

    When you coat the turkey with Loons Soft Head, do coat one side or both?

    • @FlyFishFood
      @FlyFishFood  7 років тому

      Just one side, but it seems to soak through.

  • @holyworrier
    @holyworrier 6 років тому

    Fish don't "eat" a fly. They intend to, but when the hook is set, their plan is foiled. They "take" or "hit" the fly. Saying they eat the fly is sloppy use of language.

    • @FlyFishFood
      @FlyFishFood  6 років тому +10

      Take, hit, and eat are all approved usages of the Queen's English according to the Fly Fishing Manual (Sec. 357.9 pp. 67-69.) This being said, I will request for an amendment to that section to exclude the word "eat" because of how offensive it is. I appreciate your concern.

      Word police suck. Probably don’t get many fish with your head that far up your ass do you. You have two ears and one mouth for a reason.... listen and learn, then shut the fuck up!
