You bring up some good points. I think what they should have done is mirror the keyboard shortcuts from AE to Fable, and fix the contextual menus based on the feature you're working on. Google did this already with their Google Docs, so it's not impossible.
Your videos are so useful because you take the time to Not Assume you understand why something is being done while moving around a sample project. You state that clearly and that is why I watch you. I was impressed you understood features in building this demo that I would not have known unless I spent hours watching their tutorials before I could do something useful (that assumes I watched all the videos which can be a commitment). After years of building projects in different applications there are some consistencies throughout like holding down the shift key to make a perfect circle. Would a new user invest the great amount of time without seeing why this product is better than more established ones unless the cost difference (I consider my time a major cost difference -- that is why I sometime cheat with plugins) or convenience was huge? Thank you for helping!
Hi Jen, great review. You are correct, it could be made simpler and in doing so it would be ideal for peeps like myself who aren't Apple or Adobe subscribers.
I tried Fable to export Lottie animations for web. The base of the app is pretty good and the usability is better than After Effects. On the other hand, the app is not there yet unfortunately in terms of features and usability. The base is good but they have a ton of work to do to make this tool really usable.
They do seem to have Apple Motion-like behaviors. Maybe if they refreshed the UI so that users were offered them first, it would be more like a prosumer service.
Agreed. I feel like trying to force "beginners" into keyframing will instantly confuse them, but that's what their quickstart tutorial has you do. It should be more plug and play, and the names of the behaviors should be more descriptive.
Looks like it has potential. Man, this video creation, motion design software segment is becoming awfully crowded. Again Jenn, thank you for the review.

I 1000% agree with you on the time thing. I can always make more money, I can't make more time.
