Marcus a l’air tellement sympathique, Victor aussi mais Marcus dégage un truc spécial, ça a l’air d’être un type tellement sympa. Bravo à vous 2, quelle belle carrière.
I thank God for you both. You just don't know how this makes my year. Others will remember the pendemic or the election. I will remember the time two gifted and warm human beings (who happen to be Bass Aces) got together to be just two guys having fun. I never see this, of musicians at your level. (Just kicking it off the cuff). You both have autographed my Music man bass.( I'm still trying to get Stanley's)😥😪😓 Please continue doing what you do. I'll keep watching, going to your shows and buying your albums (CD's) music. From a disciple of the Bass, and educator, Lou T.🤘🏾🖖🏾🎸🎵🎶
SMV.. never forget the first time i saw these guys...pure natural improvs..marcus holding the beat...stan playing his signature riffs, vic doing his improvisations..the joy on their faces ...like it was the first time..amazing..3 baddest bassplayers on the planet!!
Amazing... All of the youtube "virtuosos" on the web now... wouldnt even be what/who they are without the 2 monstrous careers of these 2... Talk about living legends
Man this made my day. Just two legends having a casual conversation. It's so cool to see them enjoying playing and listening to each other. Like two kids showing off stuff they've learned, and they never lost that enjoyment for music.
I love these two guys. I was blissed to meet them on separate occasions, while on tour with the late, great Lucky Peterson. I am so grateful for Lucky and the opportunity to meet actually alot of my favorite bassist including Stanley Clarke.
Victor, I remember talking to you briefly in the early 2000s after one of the Bela’ Fleck concerts up in Traverse City... I had been dealing with Rheumatoid Arthritis... I am happy to say that I have pushed myself to keep playing, and it’s part of the daily routine that keeps me healthy! I developed a touch of the dystonia (focal dystonia?) as well. But it wouldn’t matter if my hands were melting, I’d still play ; ) hope to see you live again soon!
Just remembering I first heard Marcus on Dave grusin album mountain dance. You couldn't buy any concert footage at that time. It came later on VHS 🤭. It so wonderful now on things like UA-cam seeing the musicians playing and having conversations with each ( to hear them talking was Rather Nobel initially). Thanks so much guy's 👍👍
I was smiling the whole time I watched this, lag caused by video chatting didn't stop them from jamming, they really inspired me to play music, thank you for uploading this
Wow, A awesome treat from two legends. Marcus you will always be my musical hero.My love for music as a singer goes back with you and Omar Hakim from our High School of Music and Art. Words can't describe the lessons I've learned from that High School. 1978 grad. Good to see you and Victor share moments of musical energy. God bless.
MY TWO MEN!! May god always keep you safe and groovin' guys! You've made my time on earth so much better as well as my bass playing! I only wish Jaco was still around, because he is the third and first wheel of this holy bassmen trilogy. I've never met you, probably never will, but I just cant say how much I freakin love and thank you guys for sharing such knowledge and artistic beauty with all of us. You've poured your souls in every album and that gave us a window to knowing you like some long old dear friend. Stay safe and healthy in the pocket, ALWAYS! Cheers from South America.
Thanks for capturing this special moment and uploading to UA-cam man, to see these two absolute legends chopping it up like it's no big deal is such a special treat!
You hit the nail on the head when you said 'as we smile' knowing how special this moment is... I smiled throughout the entire session - relating to every moment as if I were a part of it.
This made me smile nearly all the way through. The level of musicianship and musical wisdom that these two guys have is unparalleled, and to watch and hear them interact is just phenomenal. So good!
Marcus, James Crab Robinson here I know we have not communicated in over 20 or more years. Ive always wanted to reach out to you but I understand with success comes time management. So I've learned to stay in my lane. But watching you and Vic who is such a phenomenal player in his own right. I just wanted to say thanks Marcus for being a very very nice individual and I can only give thanks to the creator for allowing our paths to comnect back in the 70's, when we were out on tour with Mr. Norman Conners. You and Vic are cut from the same mold, and as you know I'm from a different mold its called the warrior mold, and I know you know bro, because you've seen me in action. I can only say the I am truly bless, because I'm still here married with children that want to be musicians and I'm teaching them to be not as I but as you and Vic. Thanks!!!!!!!!!
O man big fan of both of you guys, it's amazing watching you play and chat I love it, real big fan of Mr. Stanly Clark, started listening to him back 78 basic training and still, thank you both some much
Thank you Marcus and Victor for sharing all these amazing experiences that make a difference to us fans at this time. I’m musician thats a horn player, I still remember the day the album SMV-Thunder dropped in stores I went to to buy that CD ASAP. Thank you for the amazing music you all have shared and keep on sharing. Bless you both.
WOW you guys are - A M A Z Z I N G -- such an inspiration to listen to. can not stop listening to both on youtube you are both a source of inspiration - a big thank you Keep On being Great.
This is Sooooo Awesome!! Absolutely two of my most endeared artist. It’s like being a fly on the wall with these Masters. God’s Blessings to both Marcus, and Victor.
Not only is Marcus a superb bass player and human being, his untapped talent as journalist / interviewer is groundbreaking. He's asking all the right question to fish information from Victor in such a natural way. Both, Marcus and Victor set the goals for me as a bass player. On a side note, I also REALLY appreciate the talent of Andrew Gouche, but I just want to say thanks. Thanks for being natural, real, and centered. Much appreciated. I recently saw Wooten at Yoshi's in Oakland in 2019. He was sensational!
Hill Billy FunkMaster... Victor Wooten.. Three fingered Bass Bailer From Tennessee.... Who would have known funkster from the 70s.. Thanks For the blessings Fellas.... Keep the Tone..!!
One of the Best Interviews I've ever watched on UA-cam. Not because I'm a bass player, but because these are some of the most famous and yet humbly gifted people you'll ever meet. God Bless them and their families so they can continue to be used to make beautiful musical art for the world to enjoy.
I would like to mention these guys are awesome so is Stanley I give these three guys full-on salute and respect for the men that teaches children to play music bless these three men I ask to Crater and his son Jesus Christ amen keep up the great work gentlemen. 🙏🥁😎👍
Victor, I doubt that you remember me, but many year ago you came to the Virgin Islands with Bel Fleck. The band was even kind enough to go around to a few school and give them a mini lecture/demo of your gifts- I never forgot that. And I was also lucky to learn a few of your methods.. well I pray that all is well with you & your family- and continue to be the Master that you are- even in the midst of this crazy pandemic. GOD Bless🍃
I've been watching Victor Wooten for almost 15 years here in youtube every year and every month different concerts and videos and i noticed what he's telling regarding to his Focal dystonia issue. Hope he gets better and find cure. :)
Fantastic video. Enjoyed hearing the stories and listening to the playing. I liked the groove so much on the jam session that I pulled out my G&L L2500 and played a third line. Too much fun. Do more of these videos together.
thx for the upload. I like hearing what these two greats/heroes have to say with their words and their music. Had the pleasure of being in a bass boot camp given by G. Veasley where V. wooten gave a master class around 2009--i observed him to be one of the most friendly and humble human beings to be around--dude dropped so much knowledge on us that day in the most easy to understand manner. i still repeat a lot of the things he said...btw those Gerald Veasley bass bootcamps were a beautiful thing.
We can debate or argue all day about who's the best between this two, but we have to agree they're both humble persons despite what they had achieved for and during their long road remarkable career.. God bless you both Marc and Vic, keep make us happy with your slappin'..
Brilliant ! Two Masters ! Sharing their time ! Thank you so much !!! 🙏🙏 That Pork Pie Hat ! ( A tip to Mr Lester Young aka Prez ) ......He lives in Spirit !

Love how these two absolute superstars remain so so humble and real! Hard not to love them!

Two wonderful human beings shooting the breeze. Amazing video.
I dare you to not smile at that , i enjoyed every second of it , I felt like I was just there with them ...they contributed a lot to music.
Brother, you’re so RIGHT!!!!
Very cool to see that old fashion musician people love and camaraderie.
Legends. That bass line @23:20 was surely from Miles Davis - may have been from the "We want Miles" / "you're under arrest" album. Jean Pierre?
So beautiful! Two humble humans, exquisitely skilled in their craft!!
Vic and Marcus love Stanley Clarke, because he was and still is the bass man. The bass as a solo instrument came through him.
Two legends, talking music in a special moment in a lifetime!
Man this made my day. Just two legends having a casual conversation. It's so cool to see them enjoying playing and listening to each other. Like two kids showing off stuff they've learned, and they never lost that enjoyment for music.

That's what these guys are all about. The track that starts 30:30 is "Jean Pierre" (Miles Davis), Marcus played on the original version.
That wasn't luck that was divine intervention!!! Two world-class master musicians!!! Amazing advice and awesome playing of course!!!
