War can break anyone and turn them insane either by being torture or losing something they cherished most. For example: in Twisted metal black, Mr Grimm is a war veteran who went off the deep end when he and his freind were in a hole to starve. His freind died two days later and this broke Grimm. He was forced to eat his dead friend to survive. This made him go insane as a result. He once said: “they say the mind twists and bends to deal with the challenges of life. I think mine bent so much it snapped in two.” If you don’t know, Flippy witnessed two of his freinds die in the war. To make matters worse he had to hide in thier dead bodies to avoid being killed. This drove him mad. Now he has these terrible flashbacks of the war that give him PTSD. If he hears something that reminds him of the war he goes nuts.
