Union Home Minister & Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah addressed press conference at Parliament Library in New Delhi. During his address, Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged the Opposition to refrain from politicising the new criminal laws that came into effect that day and appealed to them for holding dialogue before resorting to protests.The three new criminal laws - Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) - were approved by Parliament last December to replace the Indian Penal Code (IPC) 1860, the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) 1973, and the Indian Evidence Act 1872 respectively.
