I own a brand new Gypsy since 2017. We drove it to Manali-Leh- Khardungla Top from Kolhapur and returned. Without any back up or help. The real mountain goat.
Gotta appreciate this car . I drove 4 different gypsies from 2006 to 2019. The power delivery is really good i Miss those adventuress days off-road, sleep out in the wilderness tons of memories with this king
Faizal , you should have done offroading while reviewing gypsy instead of highways right ? Off roader is meant for high rev rather than comfort and features.
@RASMO Autologue not in stock condition, but after you tune it ,because a typical gypsy rally cars did have such redlines ! Obviously because of the low compression ratio! otherwise i agree, because when i was idling with my friend's gypsy ,it started breaking at 7500 rpm! But i guess 7500 rpm is still high revving for an offroad vehicle in india because most offroaders are diesel powered with a average redline of 5000 ! Remember ,even old american v8 engines in muscle cars had a redline below 7000!😊
@RASMO Autologue also what's surprising is that a high revving engine is capable enough to make a car more faster than many cars with more hosepower ! example is the hillclimb racing beast based on the fiat 1/9x which made somewhere over 350hp only ,yet it defeated many with 700 hp! Also in the case of the gypsy ,the rev friendly nature makes it gain more momentum than many 4x4s high in torque, such as the thar! And hence they are more capable!
Elsewhere in the world when people say "Gypsy", everyone pictures the Roma people of Europe. But here in India, everyone automatically pictures this magnificent vehicle. This vehicle always reminds me of my father.
I remember riding this gypsy when my dad was posted in Faizabad (UP) and had one to use or travel. We did so many miles on that gypsy with our driver-uncle Ganesh. I can still smell the air freshener he used to use in the car. Total N O S T A L G I A
Faisal, I follow most of your videos and love your reviews. There are few corrections in this video 1) 4 in the 413 stands for 4 wheel drive and not 4 cylinder 2) Gypsy's where discontinued(for sales to civilians) towards the end of Dec18 Ni ways, keep up the good work..
I own 2004 gypsy, I have swapped it's engine from 1.3 to 1.6 engine of Baleno & tuned it to 150hp from 100hp, it has a bad habit of drinking lot of fuel
I still have it..but use it mostly to drive offroad only..to go to farms etc..i installed power steering and it works really smooth..maruti gypsy is all time gretest vehicle
If someone can drive gypsy they can drive any car. I got a gypsy and though it's very rugged it's reliable and unlike modern cars with electronic functions which normal people cannot do anything if something happens, gypsy can be repaired easily. With the 4×4 it's the most reliable to go off road as we don't have any doubts like some expensive off road vehicles. Its sad that it's discontinued.
It's high time that we show our support and love towards made in India Force Gurkha which comes with manual Front and rear Differential lockers with world-class Engine capabilities without any Electronic drama!
This Gypsy engine is 1.3L carburettor not 1.3L mpfi this is an old school Gypsy this carburettor gypsy produce the power of 63bhp and now days gypsy comes with mpfi which produces 85bhp
I know gypsy lacks any sort of features. I literally keep an old bluetooth speaker in mine for music. But i still daily it and it is an indescribable affection. Idk what makes it so good despite it's obvious flaws. And no it isn't phenomenal off-road. the clearance is an issue but it is easy to get it out of a pickle.
Suggestion is that, drive and get used to the vehicle before you make any review. Driving a Gypsy is not like you drive any other vehicle. Gypsy is capable and comfortable only in capable hands, this is the reason Army is using it since mid 1980s.
Thanks or making video of iconic the king maruti gypsy its pride of Indian army and my personal thanks to u faisal sir u made my day and make offroding of the king gypsy its my humble request to u and the maruti gypsy my dream car from my childhood
There is a reason for the hook actually Maruti suzuki used to provide a lot of cars to government such as to ias and Ips at that time there used to be flag rods indicating the designation of an officer that hook used to assist the rod but nowadays this gypsy can be seen as an excort vehicle to big senior officer
Nope, the hook on the hood and another at the top of the windshield was for tying down the collapsible windshield while it was folded down flat. This was a rarely used feature except perhaps for the Republic Day parade !
Nice vlog although a Gypsy shines when you take it off the tarmac. And apart from the Army and the Police, Gypsy is used for jungle safaris at our national parks as well.
Special thanks to instagram.com/mohdquayum for lending me his Maruti Gypsy to vlog on 😊

is it good to give beans to a old car like this?

The real mountain goat.
You're lucky to have a last & fresh gypsy ❤️
How did you buy it?? I was told by a dealership that civilians can't buy it.
Maruti Gypsy is known as Mountain Goat 🔥
Because of it's short MG..
And sure it is a goat
But the MG series' "Maruti Gypsy"* is based on the SJ series' "Suzuki Jimny"*.
I remember sitting in the gypsy when my Dad was in military❤Saw this vehicle after a long time
4:30 anyone who has driven this vehicle knows that was a near miss to topple.
4:15 It seems the driver in the Indica was sleeping...
He's not sleeping.. He wanna end Faisal's whole carrier..

Faisal bhai's voice volume is directly proportional to the speed of the vehicle he is driving😬😬

OMG Gypsy, one of the dream cars of 90's kids👌🏻😀
1:20 Even Gypsy had a sunroof 😂😂
Wow... ! I had 2 gypsy....one blue & 1 white. As a kid i used to love it & felt it was very very comfortable & gave u a bossy feeling
Finally.!!!! . You blogged this Maruti Suzuki Gypsy..........
The hook on the bonnet is to keep the windshield tied down when you fold it.
"Omg where are we going"....that scared the shit out of me😂
1:47
It is there so that the bonnet does not touch the windscreen
Even today I see army people using Gypsy in my town , absolutely silent & refined , Suzuki petrol engine's are phenomenal 👌
Silent but not refined. People who swapped their petrol engines with diesel multijet's engines on their Gypsy say that the diesel is more refined.
Even our local cops......
The legendary Maruti!
Faizal , you should have done offroading while reviewing gypsy instead of highways right ? Off roader is meant for high rev rather than comfort and features.

@RASMO Autologue the gypsy certainly has one ,with a redline of 9000 rpm !

@@RajKishore-pc6gf thats not off road thats the muddy road, offroad means there is no road😂😂😂✌️
My favourite car. Still dream of owning one. I remember in the 90s they used to make gypsys with steel bumpers
Logic during old times:
Your car might not have an engine but it would surely have an ashtray

Logic in today,s time .

logic in today's time car might not have engine but sueely will have useless complicated and non sense infotainment system.

In Arunachal Pradesh this car is known as Raja Gaadi because of its off-road capabilities
Even i had one in my family. But sadly its rusting around 😭 this gave me deep nostalgia

it was definitely a most sought after car in its time. It had flaws but even with its flaws it ruled the cross country rallies.
