CARRY YOURSELF in GBO2 | Ground Offense Basics | Beginner Guide - Ep 2 | Gundam Battle Operation 2

  • As S-/A+ players in GBO2 (Gundam Battle Operation 2), Spiker and I have gathered tips from top clans and players along with our own experiences to help you CARRY YOURSELF and WIN matches. This beginner guide (episode 2) shares guidelines to follow for basic match that help you succeed in this team-oriented game no matter what your rating.
    Note on right-handed gameplay: Some suits, like the Geara Doga, have left-handed weapons such as the sturmfaust and wire. It can be disadvantageous due to the camera angles but you can use them to catch enemies moving to your blind spot (left-side). Additionally, some weapons may not align with your cross hair due to their position.
    Note on leg repairs: Sometimes, it's not worth repairing broken legs unless it's near the end of the match. As an alternative to repairing, you can try to deal as much damage instead before getting destroyed. Dodge rolling/emergency evasion is an option to move around!
    Japanese Wiki Link and Note: w.atwiki.jp/ba...
    You can set Google Translate to roughly translate the entire wiki. The left-hand side of the wiki organizes suits by Raid (red), Generals (blue), and Support (yellow) and by cost.
    Once you find your suit, go to the 格闘 or "Fighting" section as Google Translate calls it and search for 武装切替 or "Weapon Switching" to see the melee ready up time. If you're able to navigate to the suit's page, it might be better to use DeepL since it's a much better translation tool.
    The Japanese wiki has a vast amount of information and tips on each suit and how to fight against each suit.

    this is what I see in Gb02; then again I'm a new low tier player. In most matches I find that teams who can take a hold the most favorable terrain By a combination of solo raid flanking and superior front line power are the teams that win. I find almost all "support" class MS to be useless in this game because I see supports getting rushed down, flanked and torn apart by teams made of nothing but raids and generals and have experienced this many times myself. This results in teams fighting for the most favorable positions on their sides of the map while taking pot-shots at each other waiting for the stagger that gives a good enough opening for a 1-hit kill beam saber wombo combo; During which time supports(If there are any on either team) try desperately too avoid the faster and stronger raids and stay alive in the back row long enough to do decent damage too enemy generals and provide a stagger opening for their teammates on the front line. Most support MS from what I've seen only have a chance too survive in space battles.

    • @chrisrobinson9899
      @chrisrobinson9899 Рік тому +1

      This is interesting to read/reflect on and maybe someone with more experience can chime in, but from my current GBO experience Supports can be the make or break as far as Ground battles go. A high quality support pilot in the High B~Low A Rating can lock down General and Raid MS like they are the main character of the battle. My regular drop buddy prefers Support class mobile suits as they have an MMO style rotation of weapons and systems to get used to compared to my preference on "Whats a gun for?" 100 Thrust gauge +30 Melee Raid builds.
      Also, maybe find some videos or look for some hybrid style mobile suits in the DP store. Think how the Kampfer is a Raid with General advantage, or how the GP-02 Raid has huge range power and can dominate without swinging his sword at all... or that the Gouf VD (General) is still a Gouf (Raid) at heart, heat rod and swing for the fence. I'm not super familiar with dual role Supports but they exist for sure. Once you improve and climb out of "Low Tier" wherever that is, you'll see more team chemistry and quality piloting... Sometimes.

    • @2MUCHWONG
      @2MUCHWONG  Рік тому +1

      If the frontline keeps raids out, it's common for a support to almost take the entire board with top individual, damage, and assists. However, as you noted, their strength really relies on how well that support can stay with the team and how well the team can keep the raid away from the support. If you're playing a general, definitely try to focus the raid. If you keep your support alive, they'll be able to do their work and wreck havoc on the opposing team and even make them afraid of pushing.
      If you want to play a support and notice that your generals aren't looking out for you, try to pick a support that has a heavy stagger (eg. Desert GM or Geara Doga Heavy Arms), decent mobility (eg. Mudrock or Dom Single/Multi-cannon), or weapons that can break maneuver armor (eg. Full Armor 7th has lots of weapons with high stagger value). That way, you have options to stop a raid that's too close or quickly run towards your team and get them to cover you.

    • @2MUCHWONG
      @2MUCHWONG  Рік тому +1

      In the clan I'm in (-Lo), we have several incredible support players. If the generals can keep them safe from the raids, they absolutely decimate the enemy team. In matches with randoms, if you're playing a general, try to focus the raid and always keep an eye on your support. Chances are, if you can keep them alive, they can make tons of openings for your team and rack up damage too.

      Awesome, thanks for replying and giving more insight.
      I love the series but it's a learning curve to get into for sure even with some minor experience (I played GBO1 and only played GBO2 for a bit on PS4 before I transitioned to full time PC.) It coming to Steam has been great in my group but, it's hard to be a little disappointed at how little has changed interface/feature wise... Minus the HUGE amount of suits lol. But a lot has been added with MS combat functions and mobility and timing of weapons and all the C Parts etc. I think GP01 and 02 were coming out when I stopped playing for context. Working my way up to B+ right now, and all the help/advice I can get from you guys and Avenger1 battle footage is priceless.

      Capturing points is important during the match! If you're getting low on health, be aware of the nearest point so you can eject and capture it. On most maps, capturing a point too early is not advised since you can easily get caught by the enemy team and leave your team in a 5v6 situation.

    How can that dash back and counter possible ???? I guess it require some suit skill right

    • @2MUCHWONG
      @2MUCHWONG  Рік тому +2

      Whats happening is that
      1) The enemy is staggered by the shot
      2) The neutral swing landed while the enemy is still recovering from the 1st stagger. It doesn't restagger since it landed too early.
      3) the enemy fully recovers from the stagger animation during the neutral swing
      4) the enemy can now do boost back and then counter
      If you want to neutral and downswing, you have your neutral swing hit around the time they are rising back up from stagger so you can restagger them. However, the timing can be tight and lag can make it a gamble on whether you landed it at the right time or too early/late and give them time to boost back and counter.
      This is going into advanced territory but what some players do is land the neutral swing after the stagger and then wait. If the game registers it as another stagger, the follow up downswing is guaranteed. If the enemy escapes during the neutral, the game has decided it's too late so the player shouldn't downswing or they'll get punished. The easiest to avoid this situation is to just downswing instead of doing a neutral and down when possible.

    As a C- ranked player what mobile suit is most preferred in a ranked match?

    • @2MUCHWONG
      @2MUCHWONG  Рік тому

      It's hard to make a general recommendation since it really depends on the cost, the map, and to some extent, your team comp. If you're just starting out, mobile suits with at least one instant stagger weapon are good since you'll be able to save teammates quickly. Manuever armor is another nice to have so you can get out of bad situations or flank easier. Is there a specific cost you're looking at?

    • @theweebuser4630
      @theweebuser4630 Рік тому +1

      500-550 cost

    • @2MUCHWONG
      @2MUCHWONG  Рік тому

      If gacha has been good to you, Hazel Custom is a pretty well-rounded suit with Manuever Armor and speed. Aqua GP01 is also a nice one with a wide variety of close and mid-range weapons.
      Otherwise in the DP shop, at 500, Regelgu has double dodge roll and a good mix of weapons. Galbady beta is a solid brawler too since the downswing comes out incredibly quick. Rick Dias has manuever armor (MA) and decent all around. Gallus J is another one too with MA, heavy stagger punch and break MA with EG Missile Pods.
      At 550, Zaku 3 is a slidey suit but can break manuever armor, has multiple melees and is pretty tanky. Dreissen is solid if you equip the toothbrush (long beam tomahawk). Neutral and side swings are an immediate knockdown.

      Your best options are most likely to
      1) play a diversion role, trying to take the enemies' attention while staying safe and healthy

      Unfortunately, PC has a much smaller player base than console so it takes longer to find a match. I have found that quick matches are near impossible to find a match on PC but rated has a fair amount of people.
