Fact is Ford wanted to use the very cool engine out of the Mustang 350R for this car. Back when Ford USA tried to design this car themselves. Starting with a Mustang chassis. Then they tried and failed a lot, and they bought a Ferrari LeMans car to benchmark it and realised there was nothing they could do to make their car competitive against the Ferrari. This project was called Project Silver. And they were dead set on that Mustang V8. Then they scrapped it and again brought in the Brits with a hell of a lot different competence and the Ford GT was born as you know it today. But to be competitive and give it a winning chance, they wanted to circumvent the rules a bit and give the car more than legal aero surface. Hence the flying buttresses that were a way to bend the rules somewhat. But then the V8 engine wouldnt fit. And thats basically how they ended up on the V6. There is no way they would have made that decision if it wasnt for the circumstances.
If you ever release this again for the US viewers I would love on. Sad I missed this. Cheers Tim! Love what you do for the automotive space. Keep up the good work.
Love that shmee uses these cars and doesn’t care at all about the mileage, I know if I was to ever buy a supercar I’d want one that was regularly used and maintained to a high standard than a garage queen with an inflated price because of the low miles. Trick is buying a used car that’s been meticulously maintained with no expense spared like tim maintains his. Love the new format tim much more enjoyable content. Hats off to listening to what people want and delivering 👍👌
You've been watching since Shmee had his Ford focus GT?! ..... I don't watch Tim religiously but do watch and have watched for many years now but I don't recall him owning a Ford Focus GT..... I didn't even realise that Ford had ever made a Focus GT. ST, RS yes but GT doesn't ring a bell with me. I don't know where your from but Maybe as I live in England the ST or the RS is badged as the GT in other parts of the world 🤔 To everyone that reads this comment, I hope you have a great day! Treat people with the respect you would like to be treated with and the world will be a better place 👍
The GT40 might be one of my favorite super cars, you can see on the reactions here and people said it from the first drives in this thing, its pretty raw and honest and its the things that normally is missing in modern cars and this thing bring a bit of that back it seems, and the styling has grown on me too, it was always good looking but at first I felt it was a bit too plain but I love it now, I can look at this thing all day, I think your spec helps! This is what you hope to see, even as a viewer, this truely obvious honest reaction, not saying people lie, but you could really tell that he was not expecting it to feel so good and be such an honest car!

Shmee150 Great Video I'm glad your Absolutely Gorgeous Ford GT on it's way back to the UK and I can't wait to see it back at Shmuseum and I'm glad Freddie helped you get it prepared for transport
Firm believer that cars like this should be enjoyed properly; but it did so much in 2023 and 2024, that 2025 will certainly be a quiet break; I don't see it doing a lot
I own a GT. I can tell by sound that the revs mean you're definitely exceeding the speed limit at times! Good. That's what you're supposed to do - in a safe manner, of course.
Thanks, oddly interesting……. Working & car Stuff…….I would really like to drive more of USA (* especially in a FORD GT, Dark Horse , or BLACKWING (CADDY),etc……)…….

Part of the point of a lithium battery is that it has a lower self discharge rate. I have a Lithium jump box in my hot car... it's remained at 80'ish percent for 6 months. there are very cheap battery monitoring tools on amazon that can inform you on self discharge and idle power consumption for your specific car, over bluetooth.
In this case Freddy was surely the right call, but it would be really cool to see ya hook up with Cleetus at some point... Heck, he really needs to invite you to a Crown Vic race!
1:42 hang on, there's a restaurant chain called "Ford's Garage?". As a car enthusiast and American, I have never heard of this... oh, the vast majority are in Florida, and there's a few others scattered around the east and one in Texas. Ya, I think they're all thousands of miles from me.
@Shmee150 ya, Detroit is 2300 miles from me :) But Detroit was on my list of places to check out. Hopefully the US car companies haven't totally dismantled their museums...

I'm curious, how much notice do you have to give to ship the vehicle? How long from drop off to pickup does it take? what about concern of damage? lastly cost?
Notice - the more time helps, to block a spot on a ship (which needs loading in the container at a facility, transport over etc), but you can do it 2 weeks before maybe Drop-off to Pickup - depends on the route but NE USA to UK is a regular route, so 2 weeks, maybe 3 depending on ship timetables (and Xmas/New Year holidays etc) Concern of Damage - always, but that's what insurance is for, I have an all-risk policy for this type of thing with guaranteed value Cost - varies dramatically depending on route, direction, time of year, spontaneous load etc. It can be from $2K to $10K for half a 40ft container, plus insurance, and you've got to factor in customs fees and other charges

This is a better P1 update than we get on Freddies channel 😂
This is one truck driver who is always on time. Always.
