This is easily one of the best vampire flicks of the 90s and still holds up till now.
Damn so true lol
Good movie. Read the book, it starts about the same, but there's a shnit load more to the story.
@Russell Collier that was trash
Criminally underrated
Why not knock the whole house down lmaooo
My parents happened to have this movie on cassette when I was a boy and I utterly loved this movie.
90’s movies are just more real, the way the people move and talk to each other.
Absolutely

@@krepostnoy1861 True true...
I reenacted this movie so many times with my brothers and friends. Anybody who didn't know what we were playing got a sweet introduction at my house. I was about 10 years old. Great times
@@thrustinjustin5115 Thats awesome. I always thought the NERF crossbow would be a cool weapon to use in a mock version of this movie/book. I have two full scripts ready to go, just need the right person.
James Woods actually trained as a vampire hunter for four years to make his performance as authentic as possible
But whom I wonder
4 years??
what is he eating? garlic salad?

This movie is one of James Woods’ most underrated in my opinion
Another day in paradise
Just watched it yesterday, He is definitely one of highlights of the movie love how badass he is and how he delivers dialogue. Also Cobra Kai as the Vampire Valek was pretty creepy.
Definitely not a perfect movie but entertaining. I didn't know it was based off a book.
@@nebulous8389 ikr? It’s not meant to be perfect, it’s just meant to be fun
James Woods was such a Bad Ass in this movie! Only wish this movie did well enough to merit a proper sequel with James Woods instead of that B.S. straight to video sequel we got. If you can even call it a sequel to this movie.
How I know about James woods is family guy 😂😂
This movie was a real treat to watch in the theater back in the day.
Hell yes. This was the last movie my grandmother took me to see in a theater. She was 79 and loved horror movies. I still remember her saying "why is it so loud!?" When the Dolby test sound played. Miss ya Grams!
lies. both of you. you would have to be over 40, and everyone knows if you’re that are you’re not cool anymore
One of the things I love back in the old days is when you missed reading the entertainment section of the news paper or didn't catch up on watching television or you don't have cable. You went into a movie theater without any idea about the movies you're about to watch. This is one of them and boy, it was one of the best.
The first time I saw this film was through my aunts film channel where you rang a number and said whatever code the film was
It would play the trailer a few times then start
Awesome film
What I like about this scene is even though they are vampire killers it doesn't go smooth for them. More realistic that kills don't go to plan. They fight back.

Most underrated vampire movie ever.
Watching this movie as a 90 kid was so much fun. Woods is spectacular as usual.
A cinematic masterpiece.
Ahhhh the 1990's, over the top movies at its best...
Bring back James Woods for another Vampires movie
One of the best vampire movies ever! Dare i say even better than the first Blade.
The lost boys is one of my favorite
Blade. Vampires. Lost Boys.
Can’t believe my parents had this playing when I was 4 years old which caused me to have multiple nightmares that I can still remember vividly to this day 😂
"JAAAAAACCKKKKK!"
Vampires in this movie infunds fear man, i said this as a kid too i was so scared lol
Same here i was about the same age as yours and i was so scared that i started hating the dark😂
The kewchie eating part is something i will never forget lmaoo took me forever to find what movie it was
Oh you too? 😂 I don’t know why my parents thought this was an appropriate film for me to watch
The song in the beginning has popped in my head every so often since watching this on VHS as a kid.
me too :)
One of best, great cast, good story, John carpenter, James Woods 👍👍
That one Mexican guy who's been in everything.
Best vampire flick....period...Woods rules!!
YES !!!!!!
A kick arse action horror flick that was never really recognised, one of the best of the 90’s a great movie, loved it, especially watching on the big screen
They should do a tv series with James Woods based on this. It's a masterpiece.
Netflix jack crow 10 years on white haired etc fully more older in 2023 gets called out retirement in texas with adam who faked his death to hunt down queen katrina in monteray california. Who now queen vampire after jack killed tony few years back with adam help
Hes a little old for that at this point.
But I agree, this should be a show.
@@andrewvasquez7872 I looked it up. He's 75. Not that old. Some people act into their 80s and 90s. Now whether he'd want to do it or not is another matter. Too bad John Carpenter is gone. He was such a great director.
@@thinkforyourself2109 Hell u mean gone?? hes still alive LMAO
One of the best opening scenes in a horror movie.
What i liked most about this film was the relative realism (By hollywood standards). These hunters are not holy warriors, templars or paladins, but regular guys. They are cautious, cause they know they are only human. They crack crude jokes, drink, and partake in less than reputable women. Just as you would to blow off steam, after risking you're life everyday.
That was Their weakness though. They partied got drunk and high knowing that they didn’t finish the job by killing the master, they got cocky and dropped their guard
@MrJonathon08 not to mention the traitor in their church.
@MrJonathon08 in their defense though, they didn't know that the cardinal of that region/diocese had betrayed them to the master vampire and that the master who they didn't find was in fact the first vampire ever created who was comparable to Dracula in terms of strength and speed. For all they knew the master could've been anyone but not the 1st vampire ever created. I mean hell when he slaughtered the team in the motel he got pissed when the priest shot him point blank in the back with a sawed off as opposed to falling down and idk about you but if I saw that I'd either start praying to God or try to run or just self delete before he got his hands on me.
😮yea agreed 👍 bandedcookie.1
James Wood just being himself. As natural as breathing air.
All I can hear is Hades from Hercules.
“Padre, can I ask you something? When I was kicking your ass back there, did that give wood? Huh? You get a little ebony, a little mahogany from that? I’m just f###ing with you, Padre!”
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
James Woods rocks in this movie!
That line randomly pops in my head from time to time.
I love when he's like "That's right Padre fuck with him "
Movies like this usually don't excite me but I absolutely loved this one for some reason! I like James woods a lot.

One of the best vampire movies & with James Woods to boot!
John Carpenter Never Gets Old
This and from dusk til dawn are the most underrated vampire movies
From dusk til dawn isn't underrated.
Saw both of these at the cinema ♡
One of those movies isn’t underrated.
From Dusk Til Dawn are more on the demon side than vampires.
@@rm1042 no they’re not. There’s not one demon in From Dusk Till Dawn. They’re all vampires.
Hell of an original movie.hope no one ever remakes it!
What I've always loved about James Woods role in Vampires is that he follows the rules of a true leader, He'd never ask his men to do something that he wouldn't be willing to do himself. He unlocked the front door and the basement door, putting himself at risk the most.
The feel good " VAMPIRE " movie of the 90's along with " From Dusk till Dawn " & Sheryl Lee still looked good way past her " Twin Peaks " year's.
Blade

James Woods!
This movie is great - especially the scene with Sheryl Lee tied to a bed. And in case Crow asks, yes it gave me wood.
Sheryl Lee was great in this film.

James Woods He's a legend, great for playing wild characters, he accompanied my childhood with one of his best characters Jack Crow 🤟🏻
I liked him in Salvador and pretty much all his roles. He always played the cynical snarky guy. His trademark.
James Woods is one of my favorite actors !!
Terry Silver as the lead vampire is damn astounding here.

Good memories
Before all the superhero CGI crap, girl bosses, and woke mind virus in movies. Better days.
The suspense in this scene is so well done. I like the humour of this film, which you find in many of Carpenter's movies. And I like James Woods and Maximllian Schnell. Two great actors.
This movie is a guilty pleasure.
Yes that is a good description of it.
1998 was a good year for Vampires and Blade being released.

Saw this movie at its world premiere in Toronto back in ‘98 at Fantasia film festival at the ripe young age of 18. It was an uncut version that was even more gory and vulgar. Yeah, me and this film go back a long way! Good times!
Haha. I remember watching this way back when in the cinema sniffed off my face for some reason 😂. They don’t make them like this anymore….. ya know…. Fun.
Even more gory? Really?
Great movie! The comedic ending was priceless! Lol
I never get tired of rewatching this horror film.
This is how vampire movies should be made, people are so keen to kill these monsters, not the stupid Twilight and Vampire Diaries series.
Foreal the twilight movie is lame ass hell I don't know why they just don't keep it simple not like now a sope opera.
Best James Woods movie ever
Nah that would be Disney's Hercules lol
One of my most favorite vampire movies of all time!
My favorite part from james woods is from SCARY MOVIE 2 WHEN HE SAYS EAT THIS 😂😂
when that corpse fell to the ground... Scorpio wasnt reeeeeady!!! hahahaha 🤘🤣
Jack crow was a good leader, the way he said it was his turn to stick his hand through the open hole without hesitation, shows he cares about his teammates
And you notice when that vampire came out of nowhere and jumped on one of them he yells hold your fire because he didn’t to hit his own teammate. Also when he yells clear clear as he has his crossbow ready
One of best vampire movies and best of woods
Imagine a movie like this, but in the style of like Cops, where you just see a bunch of hunters clear buildings of Vampires.
Or Raid Redemption but with vampires. Yes, that would be good.
Just watched this movie and I have to say it was better than I expected, a nice throwback to Carpenter's early movies. It's definitely better than the mess known as "Escape From L.A." even if it kinda falls apart and runs out of steam during the last 30 minutes or so, which is sadly the case with most of Carpenter's films. This scene however, is one of the greatest things he ever committed to screen.
Ok so SPOILERS-
Could u imagine how at the end of From dusk till dawn George Clooneys character winds up being saved from the vampire horde by James Woods character from this movie? That’d prob be of the most badass meet ups in movie history
I remember watching this for the first time late on tv on a Friday night as a young teenager. Great movie
This movie brings back memories of hanging out at my grandparents home on a Friday afternoon.
Solid film. I could watch it multiple times and be like "Yep, this is a good fuckin vampire film."
This has to be be one the most underrated overrated rated movies I've ever rated in a comments section. Underrated.
This is the only Carpenter Remake Id want as a fan.
John Steakley wrote two great novels and this is one.
Nice Movie 👍
James did a Great job
Haven’t seen this movie since I was a kid- 20 years ago 😅 Didn’t even know the name of it. Such a nice throwback
Badass movie 🎥 underrated
This is the best vampire movie I've ever seen.
"Have you ever seen a vampire?" "You been bitten by a vampire" (...) "Big guy, pointy teeth, real shitty breath".
In this film, the female vampires are no seductive "Femme fatale", they smell bad, and they have hot, shitty breath. Look at that female vampire in 4:37 Do you think that female vampire have brushed and flossed her teeth before attacking? No, she doesn't care about her oral hygiene... she is a stinky predator with bad breath.
Thank you so much, guys! Bye.
Probably toe jam as well.
they mostly appear to be zombie-like, just like the movie 30 Days of Night. Carpenter did it first!
@@sunsetman22 Yes. These vampires are not romantic, they smell bad, and they have halitosis... they literally have shitty breath.
@@kirbys100 Really I thought Vampires would “seduce everyone in sight with cheesy euro trash accents.”
Still the best vampire movie.
One of my faves. I wasn't even allowed to watch this before lol.
This is NOT a clip from the movie "Vampires".
It's just James Wood hanging around with his buddies on an average Wednesday afternoon.
More like Hades on a Tuesday with the Titans.
For Human Hunters, Jack Crow is by far the best Legendary Human Vampire Hunting Warrior ! Just look at how he Fearlessly deals with situation, brutally shooting off the female vampire's hand and drag them out to burn is so merciless! He is Extremely unusually Brave, Badass and Ruthless Vampire Hunting Antihero, and again my favourite human hunter by far!
Love this movie…still watch sometimes.
Ive said it before but 90s were the last great decade of awesome vampire flicks. Has there been a good one since? Fark no
For a bunch of supposedly 'badass vampire killers' they sure do panic and cry a lot when they actually see a vampire.
Late 90s ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Roger Ebert said one reason he liked this movie is was it’s one of the few vampire movies without any kids in it.

Good flick. Carpenter is the man
Right up there with the first Blade movie
Why walk into the house and dragged em out? When just can blow out the house 😂 😂.
Suspected nest needing to be confirmed covertly. In clearing the nest any found vamps have to be dealt with discretely. Burning buildings bring first responders. I'm betting they've burned down confirmed nests before when the risk of exposure was really low.
unless it's a stake through the heart, the vamps could literally pick themselves up again and just scatter to the wind to find a new nest.
