When I was 21 I lost my boyfriend of 7 years. He died in a car accident. This song really reminds me of those times, the months after he died were the darkest moments of my life. I could not get him off my mind, it was so hard to let go.. the lyrics are so spot on. This song gives me feelings that are hard to explain.. and I just find it amazing how music can have that effect on people.

Lately I’ve been feeling lost, broken, and scared because I’m going to have to loose my ride or die, my best friend, my soul, my savior, the animal people say is “just a aggressive cat”. I’ve had her since she was 8-9 weeks old and I was 3-4 yrs. We got her from a pet shop, and I think she was the only one left of her family as there was only ONE calico cat (that’s what she is) there. She’s been with me for almost 13 yrs (she’s 12 now but will be 13 soon) and she made me promises and I made her promises. She’s my complete and utter world. She may be aggressive toward people that are in her bubble, in my bubble, by me, or in the same room as her and I. She may attack my huskies. She may meow annoyingly when in heat (she has reasons on why she cannot be fixed, issues). She may attack a crying person’s temple to get them to shut up. She may piss and shiz on everyone’s clothes. She may have the most attitude I’ve ever seen in a cat, but she’s mine and I wouldn’t change her for the world. A tumor where her primordial pouch is suppose to be will get to best of her as it’s inoperable and she is too old be able to recover. But even tho she’ll leave the earth, she’ll never leave my heart; my soul. She’s apart of me. She keeps my happy, she keeps my going. People say she’s “just a cat” don’t know her, don’t know her and I. She’s the best thing that’s every happened to me - no joke. She has let me hold her for long periods of time while I cry, she’s let me know who is good and who is bad, she’s listened to me cry; get mad; and blab. That “just a cat” has been more of a best friend and partner than any friend - fake or real - and any boy can ever be. Us humans are usually slaves to cats, as cats rule and humans drool. But...I know I’m not a slave to her. I’m her provider, I’m her best friend, I’m her forever-friend, and I’m her non-fur mom. “Just a cat” knows me better than my family, my friends, teachers, better than my dogs, and Better than strangers. She’s half of my heart. “Just a cat” has tried her best to help stop my chest pains (doing it horribly lol) when I can’t even talk to my family or friends about it because they think it’s non-existent. “Just a cat” has her birthday on April 11th and will be 13 yrs old. Yesterday (4/8/20) was my first huskies 3rd bday but it was also my cat’s 1 month left on earth (I know she could live longer - 1 to 5 yrs - but I highly doubt it). She was said to have a tumor where her primordial pouch is suppose to be on Nov. 8th. We’re not sure what tumor, we only know it’s cancerous and malignant but not a mammary tumor and not feline leukemia. If you read this rant, that’s great.
