    I love the new bulletin board! The feel of your classroom is neutral and outdoorsy (which i LOVE!). I think the environment of a classroom is so important and you nailed it! The mix of neutrals, woods, and greenery makes it feel peaceful and relaxing instead of having colors all over the place

    I teach in a school where 2 to 3 of our walls are glass. I always feel like I'm teaching on display. I love your new classroom set-up ♡.

    I am definitely stealing the flat sheet idea! I'm not going to change my bulletin boards until the end of the year, but yours look great so I may have to try it earlier!

    I think you have done a great job with your bulletin boards. I like how you stretched the fabric and got the creases out and looks so perfect. I am going to do this with my boards in my new classroom. Great idea

    I'm especially liking the look of the little nook where you have the clipboards/writing center. How did you make the inner layer of border on that bulletin board? Is it pieces of book pages too? It almost looks like old repurposed library cards, which would be awesome! I like it!

    I prefer the new room design over the other one. To be honest i was never really a fan of that paper on the back wall. But this layout looks absolutely A M A Z I N G! Well done! By the way, I prefer to teach in from of the door because I have the feeling of the full control of who is in and out and what is happening in my classroom.

    I think your room looks great! I use those Walmart sheets too....super cheap, very sturdy, and they look good.

    I put a flat sheet over my bulletin board, also!! I Velcro it to the top of the frame and then on one side of the sheet.. it's easier to take down at the end of the school year when we have to remove everything

    I love the changes to your classroom! 😀 It is so bright and inviting. I definitely feel like I am going to be the teacher who changes the student seating arrangement at least once per quarter. I feel like it is one of the most influential ways for building classroom community. You are awesome! Thank you for the great tips and strategies! 😀

    Hiya lovely! I love the classroom as always. I was thinking “oh no don’t get rid of the wallpaper!!!!” but after seeing how much brighter the room is, I agree with you. I will definitely will be trying out the flat sheet idea for the backing of the boards next year school. I wish I had the energy that you have to change my room mid year! Keep up the great work. Take care and take some time for yourself too. Bye.

    Great video! I’m new so could you explain how you decide which kids go where? Do they stay with you all day or switch with your other team teachers? I was just wondering how that works with your MAC team😊

  • @georgejones2891

    Y'all love the room changes seems much more slick! However that back wall definitely needs something on it from what I can see it looks a bit battered lol is there any way that you could re paper it with a new wall paper design that's brighter and goes with the new rug and bulletin boards etc ??

    • @BridgingLiteracy
      @BridgingLiteracy  6 років тому

      I'm not going to lie that I thought about putting up a white brick paper.

    • @georgejones2891
      @georgejones2891 6 років тому

      Yasss! Bridget that would look gorgeous and bright it would literally look like exposed brick work or there's always that light wooden panel type paper (Tina bietler used it for her bulletin boards) just an idea but absolutely love the idea of white brick work it's just that wall needs something like that looks a bit tired as it is. Love you're channel an amazing teacher

    What happened to your beautiful brown dining table??? I loved it! That is what gave me the first itch to become a flexible seating classroom. i also loooovvveee changing my room around. I seem to do it every 2 months or so. Kids walk in saying "again?" but they love it too! Love you benches.

    I had always wondered where the house names came from!

  • @jeffreyjurial4152
    @jeffreyjurial4152 6 років тому +2

    How do you do the house system and when do you give your kids points?

    • @BridgingLiteracy
      @BridgingLiteracy  6 років тому +1

      jeffrey jurial I give points throughout the day. Sometimes I give the points with a slip that has them write their names and house name down. They place this in a jar and at the end of the day the points are added to the board. Other times I add it to the total immediately. Points are award for various behaviors. If they raise their hand, say an answer that no else remembers, has the cleanest area, are ready and focused or for showing PRIDE behavior. Hope this helps ✌🏼😘

    I still think you need your desk back in that back corner. I just don't think the height of your chair and bench are ergonomically correct for you and you may see the effect in your back in time. Time to move on from Harry Potter. You almost need a storeroom to move stuff out and in.
