This work is one of the last ones of Kerenek. He was 88 years old, and died three years later. The style which he had adopted towards the end of the 30's and refined with time is always here. The overall tone is appealing. Unless you cannot hear any atonal music, you should find it quite pleasant to hear, and the robustness of the underlying structure should be obvious to you. The obvious result of Krenek's incredible production of works is a full-rounded effort of a genius which began in Vienna and stayed true to its origin and the result is another dimension of modern which hasn't been heard quite often. Wake up musicologists and give him the credit he deserves.
