    Wow!! Those are all impressive as hell!! Did not even know RC War Birds were being made that big with gas engines. Absolutely loved the B-17, P-47, F-4U, and Spitfires. Thats a helluva hobby you guys got going on. Thanks for keeping history alive with them.

    I was comparing the RC Aluminum Overcast to my old old 2009 footage I shot of the real plane when it came to my my town. It's hard to tell the difference!

    Beautiful aircraft and great flying. I'd love to see all these warbirds flying together in formation with the B-17---sometime.

    just WOW ! love seeing these warbirds land! very good landings are so rare which proves just how hard these bouncy tail draggers are to land. Its nice to know that no matter how used you get to flying the model, you'll always have a challenge ahead until the plane stops moving.

    • @RCScaleAirplanes
      @RCScaleAirplanes  10 років тому

      Thank you for your compliments, _Gabriel_. Yes, it's very tricky to land them on a paved runway with x-wind and more than 15,000 spectatores behind you.
      I'm very pleased to know, that you liked watching the video.

    I'm astonished at the absence of mid air collisions with that many birds in the air at one time.
    Way to go!!!

    • @RCScaleAirplanes
      @RCScaleAirplanes  10 років тому +2

      They flew for the very first time together and behind the pilots were thousands of spectators ... I would have shit in my pants ≧◔◡◔≦

    • @vanpenguin22
      @vanpenguin22 10 років тому

      Wouldn't you think stage fright would gnaw away at the pilots until disaster worked its way in?

    • @RCScaleAirplanes
      @RCScaleAirplanes  10 років тому +2

      vanpenguin22 No. I think if they have their aircraft in the air, the pulse will go back down. But on landing it will probably rise again. Disaster happen most often due to technical failure.

      Come to think of it, I bet the focus level probably has them dialed in sharp and calm.
      Dinner and a cigar say once they land the wave of adrenalin hits and they shake like leaves.

    beautiful planes, sorry for the P 40, flying is mostly a positive mind set, people who are negitive i sure dont fly, and dont understand this hobby, great job guys, thanks for the time you spend on your planes for people like me to enjoy, my topflite P40 will fly this spring for the first time and my first nitro plane, i have been training on a FMS P 51, so far 20 flights all is good! keep up the great video work.

      Many thanks for your kind comment, Scott.
      The P-40 had a problem with the engine and therefore it lost speed during take off. In this situation the pilot reacted a little too hard on the rudder. The plane is already repaired.
      I whish you many successful flights with your new P-40

      RCScaleAirplanes That's good they got it repaired and back to flight ready. Engine failure in takeoff put even the best of pilots in a bad spot,, holding the plane upright has got to be a challenge and in RC scale it's especially difficult as the plane reacts so quickly.

      John Z Thank you for your great comment, which I greatly appreciate.
      The P-47 is repaired and ready for the new season. You're right, it's hard to manage a save recovery at low airspeed.

    Don't worry, it's not so expensive as you might think. The most expensive part on that plane are the engines. This B-17 is completely self made and the wood to build it, is not that expensive. Check out the video of the maiden flight where you will find a link to the pictures "how to build".
    Anyway, thanks for your kind comment. Best regards, RCSA

      The P-40 survived and it's claose to be finished.
      For the landings I have to mention that there was a stronf wind that day and most of the pilots are not used to land on a paved runway.

    These guys are no different than us Americans, they love military history and planes, and like 99.9% of Germans living today had nothing to do with Nazi Germany and probably don't know anyone still living who fought for the Nazi regime. If they spoke English you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in many cases, they probably value their family and country, and enjoy their hobby with friends... A hobby that just happens to have a majority of designs and fans based out of America consisting of American planes.

    I'm Speechless. Your video has taken me from my living room computer and put me right on the airfield with you!! That B-17 flew as smooth as a Pelican. Just riding the wind. It's a shame my Father, who passed away last year could not have seen this. He was a Flight Officer and was training in the AT6 when the War ended. He started in a Stearman, and then had to train extensively in the AT6 because the Allied Forces were loosing many planes. I guess we will not know what his next plane would have been. He always said that he would have preferred to fly Bombers, but the USAAF made all prospective pilots take a psychological exam to identify who would be better in a Fighter or a Bomber. If it is of interest to you, I think it would be. I watched a Great Movie called, " Generation War ". It has English Subtitles and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The movie gives a Human Side to what had happened in Germany during WW2. Great Movie. Great Performance and an Acknowledgement of Thank You for sharing your Passion for All to see. Every Plane in this video reflects your commitment to this Sport. Sympathies for the First Fighter who I would say was " Shot Down " BRAVO..BRAVO..BRAVO.. Now I will search for the photos of the long and countless hours the B-17 Crew spent lovingly working on their project in search of perfection and found it. AWESOME!!!!!!

      Gerard Fenn Many thanks for your great comment, _Gerard_.
      WWII has many extraordinary stories at almost any family in US/Europe/Far East. We can be happy that we all become friends. And the modellers around the world has the chance to build their favorite warbird. Many people love them to fly on sims, such as War Thunder or IL2 Sturmovik. Others by remote control at the airfield. :)
      _Happy Easter and best regards from old Germany_

    hier ist mir mal wieder die Kinnlade runtergeklappt.. die "Aluminum Overcast" ist schon eine Augenweide, dazu aber noch der "Geleitschutz" ist der Oberhammer... schade um die P-40.. und die graue Corsair hatte unglaubliches Glück, erst einknicken, dann doch arretiert... ein klasse Event, und Du hast es klasse eingefangen :-)

    Super piece of video and the models defy description, from a distance you can hardly tell them from the actual thing! I dread to think how many man-hours it takes to build an aircraft like those.

      Some of the planes you can buy as a kit. But most of them are scratch build.

    The crash was caused by the lack of engine power and over correction at the sticks ... heavy damaged, but repairable.
