    Hi Joe, fantastic job!...The amount of work, discipline, time, effort, listening (viewing) etc. etc and, over-all approach to ANY of Vinnies work is always to be highly respected!....AWESOME job my friend!....I absolutely appreciate and commend you on how much work a video like this this can take to make, break-down, notate, describe and ultimately perform!.... YOU did an OUTSTANDING JOB sir (at almost a "HOUR LONG" educational drum adventure) for all your viewers in such wonderful detail & explanation!........ Vinnie WOULD be extremely proud of this accomplishment (video instruction/performance) from you, I am sure!....Thank you so much Joe!

    Always wondered what he was doing, now I know why I can't ever do it! hahaha Thank you for breaking it down.

    Brilliant analysis and a clearly organised breakdown of the skills needed to play that classic solo. Patience and correct understanding of the body and use of techniques like Moeller will help you get there. The level of competency required here is high so it will take time to accompish.

    Really great job of analysis !Vinnie's art is so outstanding because of his playing on the edge of possibilities in power and speed combined with technique out of space...thanks for doing this and showing what hard work it needs to learn how to think and Player!

    Terrific stuff! It makes me appreciate how daunting a Frank Zappa audition must have been...
    He smiles as he hands you a page of squiggles and you have 45 seconds to read it through before he expects you to play it note-perfect with groove and flair. Yikes.
    Vinnie was famously (and uniquely?) on top of the situation and got the job, but I bet 99% of ordinary drummers would have walked out, apologising to Frank for having wasted his time. 🤭

      Well, I certainly appreciate you taking the time to let everybody know. Part of me can't help but wonder why you watched a video titled "Vinnie Colaiuta Lick Explained" if you never liked his playing and never will. Perhaps you just like to torture yourself?

    • @eddielhs
      @eddielhs Рік тому

      @@joecrabtreedrums Well, he (gillan) never said that he's watched the whole video, just stated that he does not like the Colaiuta style, so why do you have a problem with someone not liking the same things you are? Great lesson, though!

    Imagine how successful drummers would be if they spent as much time practicing their own creation instead of trying to copy someone else's from 3 decades ago.

      Imagine how successful this comment would be if you invented your own language.

    • @webstercat
      @webstercat 2 роки тому

      Learning a language requires you learn new words. Ever motion in this lick can be helpful & applied to completely different feels but I hear you…

    • @remyzsacka8670
      @remyzsacka8670 2 роки тому

      That’s just wrong :/ Vinnie and co. Themselves learned from their past heroes, every big guitarist developped their technique and identity starting from people who came before, that’s just how learning a language and innovating works.
      People create slang from already existing languages
