Kiyomasa will always be Nene's baby-boy. She can never seem to refuse him of anything he wants from her. They adore each other and are so loving & affectionate . I don't think i have ever seen such a strong mother and son bond especially at Kiyomasa's age. He loves being his mom's baby and would probably try and breast feed from Nene as a silverback if Nene let him. :-) HA!

Wow he is spoiled they are usually weaned before then. It’s incredible cute to see how he loves to be babied an the way she hugs him. She even hand fed him leaves. Never saw any do that Nene is a fiercely protective mom an you can see it currently at 10 years an his fight with Shabani an she literally goes after the silverback
Unfortunately, that is also the reason why he has mated with her.
How could Nene live her life without Kiyomasa.She loves her boy .I never see that type of adorable mom & son bonding. Nene is such a sweetheart. Kiyo you are lucky 🍀 boy you have nene mom.
It's crazy, she didn't have Ai until she was 30, and then Kiyo until she was 40

I don't think this is strange.This is the closest mama& son relationship I have ever seen.its beautiful for me to watch.who am I to tell gorillas they need to not be close.this is natural for them.wish Annie has a mom like this.thx for capturing their special union.🐵👯

That's my mommy and she's the greatest. And she doesn't call me a big baby, or tells me to grow up. And she doesn't worry that I might mess up her hair. Like I said, she's the greatest.
Poor Nene cannot walk very far carrying big baby Kiyo, even now he gets his big sister Ai to carry him on her back. He’s a lucky little gorilla, he’s loved by all the females and he’s his daddy’s sparing partner.
I haven't seen another video of one this big still nursing and in the mothers are like a baby..he's to big..

Strange,sure there's love there but the carrying him around like he's 3 months old? Same with breastfeeding? Might be normal but I haven't seen it before this in any of these videos. Sure doesn't look normal.

No. Shabani is not related to Ai or Nene.
Ai is Nene’s daughter with Shabani’s predecessor, Rikki.
Kiyo is too old to be breastfed by his mama, and too old to be walked around hanging on his mama's body, lol, he was to behave like a baby, haha. Poor mama Nene

As others have commented, something strange about Kiyomasa still acting like an infant at his age. This just doesn't seem normal. If Nene has another child, I see trouble ahead.

Actually in the wild mother gorillas stay with their child up to 9 years old and the children still get milk from their mothers at that age.
In the wild they do not feed past 4 years old. Most females in the wild are mating around 9 years old

@@lilirishgrl it seems that the older females tend to get very attached to their babies. They tend to nurse them longer and keep them very close , even try to mate with them. They seem to latch on to the last child they have.
Yes much different behaviors captive animals all together I imagine. I find great apes most fascinating. I’d love to see them in the wild someday. We don’t have any in zoos where I live. Do you get to see gorillas regularly if you want?
@@lilirishgrl I don't get to see them now as much as I would like. But have have been lucky enough to go on a couple gorilla treks. That was the best experience ever.

He's not such a baby boy...he needs to grow up ...seems ole pop needs to step in hook up with momma so that over grown ape can grow up and act it's age
I like to watch these videos at +1.5 speed and if you go to around the @4:05 mark (at that speed setting) it almost looks like Nene and Kiyo are sitting there having a nice mother and son conversation. Their mouths are moving and their eyes are looking at each other like they would if you were talking with someone.
No matter how old you are nothing beats the comfort of the warm embrace of a loving mother.
Ole Nene needs to get pregnant again so this can grow up

BREASTFEEDING? Big baby! And he’s trying to ride ventral on her chest like a newborn! Good Lord! And now that Nene’s sick all these years later Kiyo is being as big a pain to her as Annie is. Such a shame, poor Nene.

Kiyomassa was way too old to be breastfeeding and being carried by his mother. She should have put a stop to that a long time ago

They have a sweet mother/son relationship. But he seems to be regressing back to babyhood somewhat lately. I wonder why? Is she pregnant and he sensed it or is this just normal behaviour for his age?
He is a big sooky mommas boy, but it is so cute and he is only "little" once :) He sure loves his mom it's awesome. She is a loving mom
