Blue's ending was cut short, like a lot of things in this game. It was originally planned for Rouge to be the canonical winner of the magic duel and for him to go into hell alone since he didn't want to drag his friends into it. But after he defeated Hell's Lord and it seemed like he'd be trapped forever, he hears his friends calling for him and finds the strength to break free. This doesn't work for Blue because Blue is an asshole and has no real friends.
Where did you find this out? :o I am really interested in learning more about this game, especially the things that were planned, cut, etc. and other details ultimately not featured in the final product.
There was a book called The Essence of Saga Frontier. It was meant to expand on the world the game takes place in as well as give details of the things that were cut from the final version of the game. And there were a LOT of things that got cut. Two entire routes never made it into the final product, though one was due to time constraints while the other was cut because it was considered too comical for the setting. The Essence of Saga Frontier has never been formally translated and released to English-speaking audiences, but there are some people that can read Japanese that have purchased it and answer questions about it. The threads on GameFaqs are all pretty old and haven't been updated, but you can find a good amount of knowledge there. Most of it is about Asellus' route, since hers had the most taken out of it as it was already longer than most of the others. It's a shame that they never thought of doing a remake where they add in everything they had to cut out the first time around, because I know fans of the game would love to see that. And it's especially a shame that the route they cut due to time constraints was the one that was meant to tie all the other routes together and give a little more continuity to the game as a whole. Sorry for the word dump.
Flandre Scarlet No hes right, Rouge is actually the good one. Blue is sort of good but he uses other methods. I think i remember when you walk around talking to people it adds up, and i remember them saying once they defeat the Hell lord they may not be able to return home. So i think it was like a suicide mission to save the world kinda thing.
Miulei OH yeah in response to that I heard some of the endings had to be cut short due too cost and money. Cause wasn't this around the same time frame they were creating Final Fantasy 8 and creating the Final Fantasy movie at the same time? Cause i remember it was around the same time as those 2 projects. Cause I remember FF tactics and Saga Frontier and Xenogears was kind of like a game they wanted to try out to see how it would do.
His soul got split in two, one got most of the good guy selfless side, the other got most of the evil and practical, mission focused side. Being an asshole is really not his fault.
It's impressive how most endings are on the sad, nostalgic, depressive side, like teaching us about life, it's cycles, death and karma... BTW, people tend to wonder about the RX3 announcement in Red's ending, I wonder what if it implies he became a movie writer or director and made that movie based on his life as Arkaiser. This game really needs a remake, but with no aesthetical changes in character design.
I sort of want a remake, but in a more cartoon cell shaded style, but i still want a huge graphic update. Maybe in the same cell shade technique used in Samurai Shodown the new one. It still retains its cartoonish animated look of the past but brings out all the good stuff of the modern tech age in graphics.
Blue's ending IS left in the open, but according to some.... source, a japanese magazine or something, says that he was fighting the hell lord by himself for a while, then his friends (I assume, his party) called his name until he listened and managed to get out, was like that in the game because of money and time, it was cut, but I gotta say, I like the idea of Blue fighting the hell lord for eternity, if you ask me, that was the hardes final battle, the easiest one was Asellus.
swordofluminesence Actually, the friends call Rouge's name if he won the battle, as he's the "good twin". Since Blue is supposed to sort of be the "evil twin" if he won the battle and fights the Hell Lord, he canonically isn't saved.
@@moisescorral8297 The point of them sending Blue/Rouge to Hell to fight Hell's Lord was just a stall for time as the Magic Kingdom sealed up the gateway. Rouge gates out of Hell with the power of friendship and supposedly directly into Lute's final boss fight, since he was more focused on helping other people than searching for the gifts as a direct objective. Blue's only goal was to become the master of all magic, so Hell gave him the ultimate enemy to test his powers on: one he couldn't beat. So canonically, Blue and Hell's Lord fight for eternity.
Im The only one who really prefer the bad ending in emilia's scenario? I hate how the good ending just ends after showing that picture and theres nothing to it
I think the idea was that story would continue in the cancelled 8th saga: Fuse's Saga. We'll see when Remastered comes out next month. The screenshots I found shows Ren as a party member in Fuse's saga.
For full-mystic “bad” ending: absorb stuff in her mystic items (I think mainly the boots?) Don’t save Gina during the rescue event, just keep going For half-mystic “canon” ending: Absorb something in her mystic items (sword or boots) Save Gina by talking to her immediately after you come back and defeating the Griffin

Remastered coming soon
I think T260G and Assecullus had the best ending and Riki.
They need to remake this game on PS4 and PC and give Blue a proper ending XD.

I’m always a champion for an ending that shows real character development and closure after a hero’s journey

lol intro i was all "wtf?"
Most non rewarding endings ever lol but love this game!
What is R3X?
Music at 0:03? Thanks in advance
I just knew asellus got 3 tipe ending.
How do you get the 2nd ending (became mystic)
For full-mystic “bad” ending:
absorb stuff in her mystic items (I think mainly the boots?)
Don’t save Gina during the rescue event, just keep going
For half-mystic “canon” ending:
Absorb something in her mystic items (sword or boots)
Save Gina by talking to her immediately after you come back and defeating the Griffin
