You are the largest UA-camr that I have seen that has started talking about this. I would agree that there isn’t as much content as gta to cover but there is still plenty to add in a Wild West game . Bank and train robberies , housing , new businesses , new guns like the mosin Nagant . Rockstar instead puts all their attention to gta online. I know they are a business but just because red dead online has a smaller community doesn’t mean it deserves this . The game would have more players and would make more money then now if rockstar put out actual dlc.
I heard this from somewhere, it was probably you but, “Its an outlaw game, and you can’t commit any crime,” which is a true statement which shouldn’t even be said in the first place. Edit: Turns out it might be from a similar UA-camr called Dark Space
The problem is that Red Dead Online was designed for the sole purpose of squeezing as much money out of players for the least amount of development cost possible. Ironically, if they had just designed it for the sole purpose of making a great online experience, they probably would have made a much bigger profit on it.
What kills me is the amount of money I spent on this game when I was working an ungodly amount of hours. I justified it by saying "well, if I'm contributing to development towards more content, then great." It was usually the last day of my half-completed outlaw pass (back when those were actually decent) that I'd pull out my wallet. I just didn't have the time to finish them and I was in love with the game. I feel cheated, the last decent pass was the one with Arthur and John's outfits, and every pass has been ass since then. To add insult to injury, the outfit I grinded and spent gold to get was listed for less gold and time than I invested in getting it. What a way to spit in the customer's face. I grew up with Rockstar, so I expected better, but I was a fool. I still play it, but I'm not ready to give them anymore money. They'd have to do something impressive for me to feel that sense of loyalty towards this game again.
That was the first thing I said when I heard they were making RDO. "What are they gonna replace shark cards with for this one?" cause we already know they will. When they first made GTA Online they weren't expecting it to be nearly as popular and successful as it is. They figured we'll make content for it for a year or two and then wind things down from there but then they found out the potential of shark cards and started intentionally making things cost more and more and more money to further tempt people into buying them.
Is so nice that this topic is finally going viral, the community and the game has been neglected for years with worse and worse updates to this date. People need to realize, Rockstar games is not the same company anymore
I agree, I’m glad everyone is bringing light to this situation. I hope Rockstar actually takes action instead of watching from the shadows like they normally do
Honestly this topic has always been viral, anyone who has played RDO knows this already. Rockstar just doesn't care because GTA is just always gonna make them more money
What a shame, to think that in the past, Rockstar was perceived as one of the honourable and good gaming development studio of the Early 2000s to now becoming a Company similarly to Electronic Arts.
I don’t really buy the argument “you can only do so much in the Wild West setting” and any RDO player knows, there is a TON of stuff they can add. Properties, actual heists, actual robberies, more open world events, lawman role, remove time limits for bounties and fix how much you’re paid for taking longer on a mission, fix PVP with the broken ass ability cards, pets, next gen patch for 60FPS, and continue the story missions that they haven’t expanded upon in ages. That’s just the shit off the top of my head. Truth is, give a competent online developer with a Rockstar level budget this game and it’s one of the best online games out there.
Agreed. The multiplayer version of RDR2 doesn't work because the story in the main game is primary and one of the best in gaming history. If a game presented itself as a standalone Wild West MMO and did it right, it would probably be successful.
@@chaost4544 I mean I don't see why they can't take time and update the multiplayer, honestly I think the only real reason we haven't gotten much is because the team that makes online content at rockstar is completely incompetent
@@likeablelabradoodle4035 So 1 - 2 shot body shot damage builds, tank builds and pre nerf slippery are balanced? And paint it black which is soft core aimbot only requiring you to pass your mouse over someones rough area where their head is and not actually aim?
There's an insane amount of stuff they could've done in terms of DLC and Updates. -Zeppelins / Blimps / Hot Air Balloons -Permanent Properties like in GTA -Ferries, Boats, Canoes, Ironclad Ships -Undead Nightmare / Aliens / Cowboys vs Indians -More Businesses, Weapons, Clothing The root of the problem clearly is that GTA Online is their cashcow, more kids are hooked on pop culture and sci-fi toxic shooting matches in LA than they are on a gritty open-world wild west. Sure its technically more impressive, has better gameplay, graphics, community and style- but it isn't an addictive dopamine-fuel game like GTA, which means it isn't going to get much if any attention.
if they are fine with 10 to 15 year old kids making their industry spin it's fine by me cause they aint geting any money from me ever again ( anyway never bought 1 single gta ) i made an exception for rdr for which i paid 80 euros and it was the greatest experience of my life but as you said it's a serious game which requires serious brain, love and attanetion for details for the beauty of the wild west and also a bit of love for history all things which clearly kids dont have.
GTA is not fun to me, RDO is more appealing world but completely empty. Idfk more people would be on RDO if they invested into it but too risky for them if it flops.
I'm in love with the gameplay on Red Dead 2 more than I do GTA 5, but Rockstar just keep shitting its bed and only sprinkling the tiniest bit of content every few months, Clothing, discount tickets, sometimes some free business refills, but that's really about it. Their biggest thing they brought in was probably the legendary animals, but they should've had that originally since its in the Story mode.
Agreed, used to love both games. but the way its setup feels like they are stealing your time rather than giving you any fun, it just shows how little they care about any kind of ''Legacy'' with their games, its all setup just to make it frustrating and make you spend real money. tho i can hardly imagine people buying anything, as in GTA 5 for example, ask a modder and you will be rich in like half an hour. it just doesnt make any sense, stopped playing gta and RDR2 online, just because its so convoluted now, its hard to find the ''fun'' in the game.
My RDO experience: make a character, buy some clothes, guns and complete the incomplete story missions and move on from the game because I have everything I needed. There is really no point in playing that game. As you said it's better to just wander around in story mode and immerse yourself in it
There is plenty of things they could add too. Like Homesteads for farming animals or crops to sell or just as a hangout with friends. They could add bank robberies, where you need to plan our route out, and extend it to trains too. The more people horses or wagons the more loot you get, but the harder it gets to get away. It does not all have to be major things it could be extra things for wagons like adding bird racks to the hunting wagon, gun storage for hunting weapons and ammo. It could also be total conversion like with the bounty hunting wagon. Give it a way to add s turret but then lose the cells, that would mean a group could take multiply wagons and it would actually help out make it harder to get around but more fun. Add ships, canons, hot air ballons or something. "Well canons would be OP" Nope, make them a wagon item that takes time to set up, take time to load means it's better if in a group, but it would still reward you with great firepower for a ambush or hold out mission, no group is scary if you got grapeshots :) You could also expand on the roles, make a storage shed to be able to keep dead animals in better supply or traps that can be set up to collect animals or scare them into. Give naturlist a greenhouse to cultivate plants they collect, or a pen to bread animals in. Bounty hunters get a tageting range to improve ones skills, prison cells or a full prison to throw random bandits into that gives you money over time, or you could make a full prison transport that pays out on the number of people you tune in at one time. That means in encounters or on missions extra bandits count alive is a later bonus, but makes the game a little harder alone and better multi. Point is even inside it's narrow area there is plenty of things you could add to the game. Even new classes if they wanted like the Outlaw, Miner, Homesteader, Breeder, Gambler even Skipper if they wanted.
Dude it’s so obvious they don’t even have to get that creative with it. Why the fuck would they not have bank and train robberies that’s like the most obvious thing everyone would want to do with their friends on online. They could make it waaaaay more fun it’s so boring it’s unplayable. I want to be able to get rich robbing banks and shit and eventually be able to buy a big ass ranch . They put so much effort into GTA making it so fun and it’s like they didn’t even try at all w red dead
There are tons of things they could add to RDO. It would be vastly different from GTA, which would open a completely different player market, and give RDO a huge influx of new players (Not just GTA players). You could add settlements, construction, farming, traded routes and racketeering to name a few. It would be one of the greatest online RPG games ever made, easily. It's so simple. They must have no creativity over at Rockstar, as it's just the same crap all the time.
@@jahirorodriguez6916 you mean the engine lmao? the ip you’re talking about is the name of a property like Red dead itself. Just didn’t wanna see somebody get laughed at by somebody who had no clue what they were talking about
I keep expecting them to add new buildings in New Austin, a new butcher or saloon but we get nothing. Sad part is, I'm a daily challenge grinder, so I got all this gold (a few hundred pounds worth in real world money) but I have absolutely nothing to spend it on and no way to trade or give it to another player either. Massive waste of time and potential.
I think cattle heist and trade would a tons of fun. I remember it's being very atmospheric game. Adding purchasable property for each role would be great. With more activities centered around them like the the moonshine shack.
18:07 yeah, that's in gta online too, in the early days when there was the mission called rooftop rumble, people were speedrunning it so fast, they got it completed under like 10 seconds, so they nerfed it multiple times, one of those nerfs was the nerf to increase the payout if you took longer time to finish that mission. This didn't count just for the rooftop rumble but for every contact job. It is insane how rockstar just keeps putting up bandages and leaving them on while focusing on other newer content.
Well said at the end there. something I’ve always noticed is that rockstar know how to make a good game and additional content for those games. But they don’t know how to fix any of it, so they just keep adding more to distract people. And it becomes an unfixable mess, like red dead
The thing that pisses me off the most? No passenger trains in RDO to rob. There is a train. But always a cargo train. The containers and boxes around the world could do better than to be empty as well. How hard is that? I like going around and finding stuff.
No it's not. Take-Two interactive interference has been slowly killing Rockstar for years now, as they're forcing Rockstar to focus on Online content to sell shark cards, it was bound to backfire and end up doing the opposite and killing online instead. It's getting so bad that I'm starting to think GTA 6 will be a barebones story, just so they can get Online out the door and focus on that instead.
I'll never understand why everyone thinks the only way to monetize a rockstar game is with futuristic tech. The roles are a great example of how they can do it....if they would just take it further. The average RDO player doesn't want the same things in a game that your average GTA player does.
I don't think futuristic tech is what they want. They just want more options for entertainment and new things to do and usually that involves being creative, that ends up looking like something futuristic. In rdo all you have is horses and guns and so to be creative without using current technology it becomes very hard, at least if you're still trying to match the times of rdr2. There is a reason rdo is newer than gta online but only fractions play rdo compared to gta online. Most people just like what gta online offers. And so from a business perspective Rockstar isn't going to spend money trying to revive the online version of the game when rdo gets 10% of the online activity that gta online gets, keep in mind rdo sold incredibly well and it is up there with gta 5 in sales.
If rockstar does a single player DLC for red dead redemption 2 I will crap in a diaper and eat the whole thing. That is how confident I am that they know that this is what every player wants, but they will not do it.
The best experience I've had in RDO was interacting with other players. The in-game content is non-existent. The absolute insane amount of grind is just horrible. I wanna compare it to Sea of Thieves, but at least that game adds content here and there with new story missions new world events and such.
Oh so what you’re saying is actually playing the game is what makes it fun….lol, this is why single player games are basically non existent nowadays and all these games are not fun like they used to be, people complain about having to grind and actually PLAY THE GAME, instead of getting easy ways to make money
@@skiitzot2f761 singleplayer games are still as strong as they were 10 years ago. And no one is complaining about the grind. They're complaining about the lack of things to grind for and how boring the grind is in the 1st place. I've spent well over 100h on RDO. Never bought microtransactions. I have every weapon in the game, the best horses from every category maxed out the moonshiner and bountyhunter roles. I did that by playing the game 3 times a month for the past year and I still ran out of content. I have 6 different outfits that I like. I customized everything I wanted. I still have over 50 gold that I only spend on the passes anyways and over 4000$ idk what to do with. The PvP modes are cancer with all the cheaters. The only fun I have in the game is roleplaying with other players which is hard to do in the 1st place cause there is barely anyone on the game anyways and then when they are all they do is grind the same 2 missions over and over again to buy a fucking hat. There are free games with more content than this. Fuck outta here with "PLAY THE GAME" I paid for the game and I played it in the tiniest possible increments so I would have something else to do. The only "content" they added are horrible "hesists" which are somehow easier to do than the strange missions that give you less money than the ammo you waste on them. Do you want me to go on?
@@jozobozo5 so what about the modes like call to arms ? the races ? the modes where it’s a team of 12 hunting bounties ? legendary animals ? Hunting ? And you have no friends at all to play this game with ? Then that’s a whole nother problem. And no single player games are not prominent at all😂 single player story modes nowadays are just small stories so people can get into the multiplayer, no attention to detail, no fun things to do, it’s all the exact same now, the only games that do it differently are games like Ghost of Tsushima, Red dead, etc…. There’s absolutely no way you can tell me that single player games are the same as they were in the PS2 era, multiplayer killed video games….let me rephrase that, gamers killed video games…I go on a game like 2k, we have the freedom to make any type of basketball player we’d like to make, and everyone just decides to make the same player with the same stats, we can do hundreds of different dribble moves but players only choose to the same dribble moves because it’s the “Meta” and that’s killed video games completely, if gamers can’t find a “meta” then they shit on the game…. Like I’m guessing the meta on red dead rn, is to spam bounty hunter missions until you have enough gold to get the other roles….how can your expect to have fun doing that ? I’ve been playing this game for a full month and this is the first time I even heard of the game having “heist” and yeah if you’re sitting their grinding the game for 24 hours not doing other things in the game that they added to actually go out and have fun, obviously you’ll run out of shit to do.
@@skiitzot2f761 You clearly didn't read even half of what I said. The things you said were new are not new. The races have been in the game since the online first launched. Call to arms is just a reskin of the halloween event that tragically had the same name and they try to tell us it's new content. You've clearly never played a singleplayer RPG game in your life you think singleplayer is dead by a longshot. It evolved and got better. Even RDR2 singleplayer proves that. Don't try teach me about the game cause I've played through everything it had to offer over a year before you even started playing. Every update I return to see what's new and every time they manage to disappoint me more. THe problems with cheaters haven't been fixed in GTA or RDO. Let me remind you that GTA came out in 2013 and that has been a constant issues since. The "heists" I was reffering to were "new content" when they added capitale where you do 20 missions that are basically the same thing you've been doing in stranger missions but now you have some chance to get capitale instead of money so you can then spend that capitale to go on 1 of 3 heists. All 3 of those are laughably easy on any difficulty and barely give you reward anyways. I've unlocked all roles an maxed out of the ones I found even slightly interesting. The trader role is absolutely horrid. The naturalist is somehow even worse. The trader gives you most reward for the least amount of time but it's about as fun as watching paint dry. Online sports games exist for one reason and one reason only and that's to sell microtransactions. Do you really think they need to make the same game every year? Of course not but it gives them so much money. I love RDR2 and RDO had so much potential but they decided to make it into "microtransaction the game" instead of actually making something good out of it. Not to mention the original Online storyline that you're introduced to the game with isn't even complete and the game has been out for over 2 years already. I don't even want to mention the amount of indie games made by 4 or less developers with more constant updates. Not to mention that Rockstar has well over 2000 employees. And if you wanna play something fun online with friends it's much better to get Valheim. THe game that costs about the same as RDO standalone, only needs about 1GB of storage and has more content in Early Access than RDO(a fully released game, mind you) with 2 years worth of updates.
I’ve been playing RDO for a whole year now. For the first 4 months I remember having to grind to no end just to get a bounty hunter role. I love playing RDO, I love the atmosphere, I love everything about the western era, but I wish for so much more like heists like you said. I really do hope rockstar gives us something soon.
I tried to play RDO and I just didn't know what to do. Everything felt Empty. Unlike GTA Online where I knew my Goal, I knew what to do. And yeah. No Unfinished Missions too! You know that Jessica Leclark mission? Well they never finished it! Her Best Friend is still on the Loose.
listen, I know where everyone is coming from and Rockstar kinda slapped us in the face, but if you are like me, you can still enjoy the game just playing with friends hunting or moonshining or bounty hunting and whatever. Rockstar has messed up sure, but the game is still a game worth buying and playing, especially if you consider how incredible the single player story was.
Maaan, I played Cross Country Canada so much when I was in grade 1-6. It was early proof that you could teach kids something (Such as geography of a country) in a video game and it not being boring as sin. Nostalgia-wise, I also remember there being an Island-survival game where you're meant to juggle between using your time to build a raft with logs, getting water, going fishing and not dying, and it was hard as balls but remember playing it a lot. I do believe its name was "Island: A Game of Survival"
@@senortentaculos8212 they didn’t fix the “cold weather” dialogue glitch when you’re in camp until just recently. it took them a whole year to fix it, single player is so amazing but it hurts to see them just not give a shit about totally fixable bugs
I’m glad you brought up the economy, that’s exactly why I couldn’t get into RDR2 online. The low payouts & no private session were enough for me to not grind out the game. I remember trying to sell my business & someone just rolled up & killed me & I literally questioned why would I put myself thru this for $100 payout. Beautiful game but it’s to much a grind for pennies.
Yeah grinding your ass off 24/7 to be able to afford a new coat 💀 everything is so damn expensive. Glad that etta Doyle missions are a thing because I would have quit months ago
It was ridiculous, immediately shouted “buy silver bc cash is useless paper” and I noped right back over to single player. Players are nice but you have to grind for ages to earn enough for literally anything.
@@voxbury literally man. I feel so bad for the new players who don’t have access to roles for a while. Either they pay up real money or grind for months to be able to afford a role. Better get used to getting less than 30 dollars a mission 😬😬
@@Scar207 Exactly, though something Dan Houser did in RDR2 is that there’s a character named Strauss, could he possibly made it to indirectly spite Take Two’s current CEO?! Though I am excited to see what the Benz will do for Everywhere!
RDO could have gone to a LOT of ways like: - steampunk machines and guns (there is an abandoned Tesla building if u remember) - new activities: gold mining and selling, working for a circus (Barnum anyone?), etc. The game modes outside the free roam mode are abandoned because mostly, ppl don't play open world games to LEAVE the open word for a lobby. Maybe DM, TDM, and races have chance to uphold the attention but if I'm in an open world I'd like to be there, work there, fight there, explore there, basically spend time there. Horde modes can be done in the main map just like gang attacks in GTAO. Rstar seems like has this money making agenda that at some point doesn't care about the player anymore.
Imagine RDO filled with thousands of players so that the world felt lived it. What we got was a deliberately frustrating slow empty lifeless husk of a world with no content you WANT to play. Not to mention how buggy, clunky and slow the game played and loaded. Jesus getting kicked out then having to load back up and find your way back or get back into a mission took half an hour. Getting from A to B on horseback, autopiloting for 20 minutes is emblematic of everything wrong with that game. It’s a game that wastes your time by playing itself. Also you’re right there’s so many jobs and directions you can take RDO. Just as many as GTA. They just weren’t inspired or creative enough to turn all the cool cowboy shit into ridiculous monetisable grindfests
It’s been years of fans throwing out legitimately good ideas/reasonable wants for a truly beautiful game full of potential. How do you NOT do an Undead Nightmare sequel? Not even for Halloween?
this makes me so sad, it's such a beautiful game and the soundtrack and mmmmm dude I have spent hours playing with friends just vibing, fishing and hunting and hanging out with the bois, I feel like I need to give it that final squeeze and play it because it'll probably just be gone one day :'c
The setting of Red Dead is VERY conducive to monetization. Red Dead Online could have players owning trains. They could definitely introduce cars. People had been racing cars for decades before the setting of the RDO and RDR2. There are so many possible properties as well. People have been counterfeiting and growing weed basically for as long as we understand what money and weed were. No reason these couldn’t be added as “businesses” in RDO. And just GTA has air smuggling, RDO, could have water-borne smuggling and the opportunity to purchase boats (potentially even large ferries or ironclads). And people definitely had houses in 1898. There’s no reason our characters shouldn’t be able to purchase a house. There’s no shortage of ideas for content that Rockstar could implement without sacrificing the grounded tone that they’re going for in Red Dead. My character should be able to take a break from bounty hunting to go cattle rustling before they purchase a gold mine and return home to their plantation to prepare for a mission to hijack an armored train that they can use to transport their moonshine to be smuggled out of the country on the ironclad that they bought using money counterfeited in the back of their casino.
I really like RDO, the roles are nice, the atmosphere is great, character creation/customization is pretty good and it’s lots of fun with friends. However, if you’ve played consistently for a while, there’s really not much you can do with your money and not much to progress. It’s such a shame, because it’s not like it would be a ton of work to implement new elements, many of which could just be plugged from the single player.
Yup, I love it with friends. Just dicking around hunting, fishing, or even using the online collectors map traveling the world exploring things is fun, but its about all there is to do.
Bro they could of added bank heists in each town, or heisting a casino boat like they had in the single player, if they had just added something like that the game would’ve been so much better
I left RDO 6 months ago, I feel bad for anyone still on it and any new players who it has currently reeled in. Look I left at rank 213, with 30k cash, and 103 gold bars. This was all from on and off grinding in hopes we would get content. Content never came so made the smart decision and left. I encourage others to do the same. Boredom is not something you should subject yourself to.
@@martymcfly88mph35 Besides what Muta covered yeah it eventually evolved into a pimp cosplay game. And it blows my mind how some people I’ve talked to are fine with that.
It’s a small idea but I always thought boxing matches like what Charles did in the epilogue would be cool. Of course there’s so many other ideas that could be implemented and expanded on for RDO, but that’s just one thing I always thought could be pretty nifty
1v1 boxing matches, where other players can bet on which player to win and get money. Or have fights in the pub while drunk and the last player to stand wins, or be able to upgrade your settlement and build farms which generates income but will higher the risk of bandits plundering you? Like there is so much Rockstar can implement and its sad that they dont care…
It's amazing to me how RDO has so much potential to be an incredible online experience yet it feels like at every single turn, rockstar decided to choose the least fun option
Man. Literally redownloaded the game this year. The immense disappointment I felt after discovering that it was still the exact same as it was when online first came out was palpable. Like, how the fuck can you not simply rob a train? You can basically do it in single player, why the fuck not online? The simplest shit they couldn’t be bothered to do on top of no dlc. They literally let the game go to waste. It’s almost not even worth playing once you’re done the story. That’s just wrong.
So me and my family (who bought this game on my recommendation) can't even elaborately hold up a train in Online Mode? We were going to steal the train, have one person drive while the rest of us holds up the cabin. That can't be done? Organic criminality isn't profitable? Say it ain't so.
@@Jesusluvz.... this is heartbreaking. I bought it for them for Christmas because there was a sale and my family finally all got computers capable of playing modern games. So we can't even like board the train then rob the occupants while someone takes over the engineer seat and another shoots at any lawmen? Organically. I don't need a special mission to be a badass and do badass shit. I didn't really need that incentive to do it in story mode. Sis and I can't just random coaches, loot them, then get the cart to Emerald Ranch together singing Mac Miller all the way? :( This is the first time I've been sad about a game because those are things I'd just do without a fucking prompt. Like in Story Mode I was happy stealing coaches and getting a bounty in one state so long as I could fence it and get cash for it and eventually pay off the bounty. No mission. Just regular ol racketeering. That is just not in there?
@@nsahandler I wish I could say yes. But that stuff is all only really possible in single player. I’m sorry man I don’t know what else to tell you. Rockstar just, sucks.
Pretty early on in the video, but I'd like to point out that RDR 1 was one of my favorite multiplayer experiences all those years ago. One of the last additions was the coop mission type playlists, and of course the zombie DLC that everyone loved. I wonder why RDR 2 hasn't put the effort in yet to exploit on what RDR 1 was close to achieving? Makes me think Muta is right, their multiplayer is run by a studio with much smaller resources.
As someone who was intimately involved with RDR1 online. I can agree, the multiplayer was PLAYER based. You could run around the map, taking out gang hideouts, grinding to lvl 50. (I used to grind Pikes Basin when I made a new acc on PSN to join a clan). That or Twin Rocks, or Fort Mercer. Sometimes all of them for fun especially when I would go up in tier until I received the zebra donkey and could drift. Gold guns felt like they were worth something. Anyhow, it was a cool experience being able to go into the Undead Overrun series. I would purposefully hop lobbies to land in the BlackWater session and glitch the zombies out into a Private Session. Or glitch into the theatre in Undead Overrun. It was an awesome experience. My dread was the amount of glitching and illegitemate players. Cough, cough (CONFEDERATE-HEAT) Any Overlord/Overload/Shockwave(Shockwave was a nickname for booting via tomahawk on horseback). But you could take the boom stick and take out players who were invincible. Chuparosa landgrab, springfield rapid spam of deadeye while running into door second floor outside balcony next to train station. (Chuparosa) and you get shot in the head. Still spamming dead eye when you respawn. You might be invincible. I was a griefer in the end when it came to other griefers. But tbh I was the one to just hop in a lobby and go flying with my fire bottles, throwing knives and shotguns. Lol. Awesome times, Cochinay was my favorite place to be. All my thanks go to Darkwatch_Apache. Running through tall trees in free aim with buffalo rifles taking out racists. Lol, after the game died and GTAV came out I was riding out the limited time left on PS Home. The nostalgia, I miss being a kid almost.
RDR 1 multiplayer was the reason I was excited for the second one, definitely disappointed. The custom RP servers are the only good thing to come out of RDR 2 multiplayer.
Make Undead Nightmare 2 already. What is the deal with all this Online crap? Undead Nightmare 2 in RDR2’s world would be so freaking amazing and full of potential.
I recently bought red dead 2 and jumped into the online after 3 hours of playing the main story. I was in a call with my friend at the time who i was going to play online with. After I spawned into the map, joined his posse ect. he asked what I wanted to do and I suggested that we do something fun like rob a train or a bank (one of thr first missions in the story is robbing a train). My friend, very bluntly, told me that we could do neither of those things. He then told me that the most fun thing to do in the game was probably bounty hunting. So I go to the prison and the sheriff offers me a bounty hunting licence but it's blocked behind a pay wall of 10 dollars. I regrettably spend my money and after about 2 hours of just bounty hunting I got bored out of my mind with only 300 dollars in game. I would not reccomend read dead online at its current state, but buy the story mode its so fucking good
I noticed something about GTA5 the other day. every character you meet in GTA is either annoying, an actual bad person, or just unbearable. In Red Dead you meet badass, kind, genuine & even creepy characters.
@@ILBFRMTHAGSC yea I guess that’s true. but even the main characters are assholes. Michael lied to his friends & made them think he was dead, Trevor is just a freakin psycho, & even Franklin thinks he’s too good for his old friends.
Thank you for covering this, Muta. I used to play RDO religiously a year back, until I figured out Rockstar was leading the online straight to "Tahiti" if you know what I mean... Here's to hoping we get a response. They can't keep getting away with this.
So keeping in mind the lawsuits, the treatment of developers and the squeezing of the money of customers; They made pirating their games more ethical than actually buying them. God dang, strange days.
THANK YOU for calling this out. I preordered RD2, and I can't express how disappointed I am that they didn't even at least put Undead Nightmare in the game. They could have even had a mini game where animals try to eat your crops and you've gotta defend a farm or something. Because they're limited due to the game's time period setting, they should just make it funny and fun.
@@kingpotato7183 for real I always hear Rockstar is money hungry because they cater to gta online but how many people actually buy sharkcards? I doubt anybody buys sharkcards as its super easy to make money on that game, If Rockstar was actually money hungry they would be putting out actual good content like undead nightmare or something different like cowboys vs aliens(not defending them by the way) instead they put out shitty triple xp and people still play there game it makes no sense if everybody says its a bad experience than why keep playing it?
You guys are SEVERELY underestimating the popularity and profit that GTA online brings. Rockstar most definitely cares about money, and they only care about money. they genuinely make so much infinitely more money in GTA online then anything else. They have literally no reason to try and monetize anything else except GTA online right now. That's just the truth. I wish it wasnt. But it is.
@Varonvan I 100% agree with you. The Graphics alone blew me away. Literally I was in awe. Well on PC with an rtx 2070 anyways. I can't speak for console.
The funny part is a lot of the problems everyone including you has listed are easily fixable. It's called updating the game. I'm pretty sure a 9 year old could figure out how to make an update that's actually fun. It's really a valve situation where they totally have the resources and time to make something really good, but they just sit around making money off of their main cash cow.
You bought the game, probably twice, you made your bed incel trash. This is the future you ALL chose with your early access, PUBG autism ADDD instant gratification genres :')
@@r0br33r Alright now post that one more time, but rewrite it so it's coherent. All I got from it so far is something something gamers are incels something something society and pubg (???) but I am interested in hearing what you gotta say.
@@yegor2 I can translate, I think, minus the trash talk. I think what they're saying is the gaming standards have changed. Once upon a time, what is now called DLC was called unlockable content. Stuff that was hidden in the game for you to find. As the market has adapted, they now strip this hidden content that would exist in the game and repackage to you at a cost calling it DLC. Since the modern gamers don't know anything different, they will continue to assume this is the industry standard - to begin selling half finished games under the tagline "early access", and ditch the project once it's at least "playable". To an older gamer, it's far from the value we felt we had back then. I'm in my mid 30s so I can understand the decline in gaming. No need for trash talk, though!
Just add customizable wagons, tents, cabins, and even houses. Give people a reason to want to grind. Obviously these items can’t be cheap and make them cost to maintain but add the heist and more elaborate robbery missions. With the wagons, make it to where u can go inside and sleep, change clothes, store weapons, spawn, and fast travel. With every upgrade in housing there should be more features.
@@wardenstone6021 its a tragedy because i always dreamed of an RDO experience that translated what I loved about the world/mechanics from story mode into a fun experience with friends. Never got that. Instead, we got something more akin to a damn free to play mobile game than a proper AAA experience. Think ill just go back to exploring in single player.
"Just add MORE WORK and MORE WORK and MORE WORKx22. With every upgrade in WORK there should be MORE WORK for the no-skill wagecucks at rockstar to do" - Are you people really this deluded? YOU ALREADY PAID FOR THIS. YOU GET LITERALLY NOTHING ELSE. YOU CHOSE THIS FUTURE LMFAO
Lately when I play with friends (which is rare we go on Red Dead now) basically all we end up talking about is ways they could expand the roles, add new ones, businesses ... there are just endless things to add that would make it a genuinely fun game again
Thank you for covering this, we’ve been completely done over because we we stupid enough to think we were gonna get at least 20-30% of what GTA was. I spent so much time getting money, gold and solid horses in the hope that in a few years this game would be massive. I unintentionally missed my daily streak (280+ days) and gave it rest for a while. I came back to find out the daily streaks had been changed and I haven’t been back since. I wanted to get ahead of the curve like GTA as it becomes impossible to stay alive if your a low level, shame it feels like a waste now. Did join some good groups though and made some friends overseas for the first time so it wasn’t all bad. Rockstar have definitely done is dirty though
There's actually diminishing returns on missions and the rewards increase at set intervals, so there's an optimal time to complete if you really want to min/max.
Being able to start a gang, set out a camp, administer expenses with the camp share like in story mode, figthing other player gangs and npc's, being able to work for the government hunting players, having your house, having vehicles, even cars could be added like they were in RDR1. Baloons, boats, ships, man the options are limitless.
Their biggest mistake with red dead online is that it is set BEFORE the events of read dead 2 heavily limiting their dev team if they set it AFTER the events of read dead 1 then it could have potential
im part of those "veterans" players that stopped playing rdo basically the spring after the moonshine update that happened in decemeber 2019, I abandoned a ps4 character with all the assets bought available at the time, all roles maxed up and a at least 15K$ and 80 goldbars. I really used to have fun with randoms I built a connection with thru voice chat parties since the community is (was?) pretty great but it shortly got boring since the game is built in a way you feel the fucking obligation to log in in order to not lose this or that, I'd say same as gtao but with less content lol
I loved playing rdo in lockdown when all of my mates and I just sat down on our asses playing games I’ve never played rdo when I got it in lockdown I was impressed how good it was. Now I don’t even play on my Xbox anymore best games to play on lockdown with my mates was rdo, gta, cod, bf4, rocket league, Minecraft and pro clubs on fifa
Man if this isn't me. I played the online when it launched and played all the way through the dead zone it had with no updates or content for months and loved it still. Eventually I stopped around late 2019 because I wasn't having any fun anymore because the game was actively punishing me for having fun hahah.
I want to point something out. It's SUPER important, I feel anyways. Bear in mind, with some of the higher tier mod menus for GTAV, you can forcibly join ANYONE'S SESSION so long as you have their Rockstar ID. Even closed ones with a player limit. EX: having 6 players in a 4 person race lobby, because the other two are hackers deliberately griefing those racing. It's absurd how poorly GTAV's cybersec was handled.
That's the one part of GTA I have a genuine problem with, just the complete lack of attention to modders. Like there are some people I see who have been known modders for YEARS. Whenever they join a session everyone knows who they are and usually at least half leave. How have R* not got a better system to stop these people. Not to even mention that some of the bigger menus literally stop players being able to report them. Genuine honest griefers I don't really mind anymore, they're just an extra risk and challenge when doing a mission. Just modders who come in, explode everyone, then force your game to crash are the real problem.
That's exactly the part of GTAO that doesn't gives me any problems, modders just can't mess my experience, it takes a while to find one, they don't mind me or when I do find one and he turns out to be who I'm killing, I'll just teleport to my apartment and they'll be just teleporting to me and falling through the building
@@jaidenoliver7165 Dude I've been using a mod menu for the past year that gets updated to simply give myself money and I'm 3000% confident I will never get banned. That is how little R* cares
The worst thing is that when you posse up with friends sometimes the reward system is so busted that you might not get payed a fair amount or not at all especially when playing the bounty hunter role
RDO pays you like $3's and 0.10 Gold doing a 20min mission than charges you like $500 for one gun but yet there's still nothing to buy unless you care want to spend $300 everytime you want to change a jackets colour or a different feather on your hat Basically The Game is a Massive Grind worse than Free to Play Games than once you have money you realise there's nothing to really buy once you've got a decent horse, some nice outfits and the best guns (the best guns since you don't need to buy all the guns) Gold especially is hard to come across even a grind if you're modding
"Why is rope alone $350? That is criminal-" Me in Yakuza, selling Kiryu's niece so he can afford to repair a broken 6-trillion-yen monkey wrench: "Damn, who would ever want to play something so grindy and unrealistic?"
There's actually other enemies that are bullet sponges, not sure if you've played enough to experience the missions with the armored enemies. And the single player has enough lore to it that they could add some incredible features to the game that would still work for that era, it's not that hard, just read any RDR2 subreddit and you'll find mountains of ideas plastered everywhere that would work. The problem with rdr2o is that R* doesn't give a shit about it. Why? idk. To make such a beautiful looking game and just drop the ball by not adding enough content to draw more players in, is baffling to me. Then they may be using the excuse that rdr2 doesn't have a big enough base to invest more content into like gtav, but the reason that may be is only at the fault of R* themselves. Over the years, R* has been dropping the ball on so many fronts, then folks just forget about all their bs once they drop a new dlc for gtav instead of banding together and calling out how lackluster their treatment is for their other franchises. RDR2 has a lot of replay value but in regards to doing bounty missions, prestige bounties, call to arms missions and some of the main missions. I play with my friends and we do run many missions in circulation to not have things get too repetitive on things but, yes after a while we do take notice once more, to how much content that should've been their already, is still missing. They haven't even given us the option to buy properties like a homestead, we still have to use a camp system that can shift to another point on the map in the area you were in, anytime you bounce to a new sessions. There's still no train or bank heist missions, we can't purchase gatling gun wagons yet, or upgrade our current wagons to 2 horse/armored wagons, they could've even implemented some things for use, similar to what was in the Jonah Hex and Wild Wild West movie, or even bring in some alien or vampire stuff to tag on more of the lore from single player, or even give us Undead Nightmare like we had before in the earlier title. So it's not that it's hard to come up with ideas on what to implement, it comes down to the fact that R* won't push the button on any of the stuff the community has been asking for in all the years since it's launch. The game has so much potential, so much, but they're just letting it die. What a disappointment.

im glad that finally the situation with rdro is being covered. like i got the game about 5 months ago played the story (best story game i played btw) played the epilouge then decided to play online. i find the online fun in some aspects like bounty hunting and the hunting however i found it how rockstar couldn't be bothered to carry other things from the single player like robbing people train roberries, bank heists, the wagon fence etc etc. easy things that could be added to make it more fun. also most of the fun roles are hard to get due to the cheese grating of gold you get
The moment I knew the game was done for is when they said “we’re gonna give you a portable camp ground and you can actually camp” and all it was literally just a small camp fire, no tent, no nothing
Not to mention, that update you covered seems to be the only one we're getting this MONTH. Before the new year, we'd get updates like that every Tuesday. But now it seems like they're moving to one extremely lackluster update a month, and that's *extremely* worrying. I love Red Dead Redemption, and I was so excited back in August to play RDO because I love making my own characters for games like this. But I quickly burned myself out on it because of how little you get in return for the several hours you may spend grinding on it.
I’ve played and logged several hundred hours in both gta and read dead online and I can’t agree more with you about rockstar and how they’ve been handling they’re online experiences I hope they start to listen to the players that keep asking for them to release better content. Great topic 👍
I have a friend that had a unique Red Dead Online experience. He's done everything in RDO. Literally everything the game has to offer, there is nothing for him to do now. So Rockstar was like, damn boy, is there anything we can do for you? All my friend wanted was something simple and he got it, just a unique black and white I believe it was mane color for his horse.
@@Daetcheu-nono I didn't lie at all, sorry I shoulda posted a picture, I'll go ask for one from my friend. Edit: I'll be posting it later, he says I'm wasting my time with youtube comments but after he's done with his current game session he'll get a picture.
The sheer fact that haven't actually expanded on the concept of building up property and businesses is astonishing. There's the copy paste business grind from GTA but there's no in-depth system where you feel like someone expanding on the new frontier, building a house, setting up a community amongst players, possibly even business trades with other players/gangs. So many mobile games and mmos have had the ability to use the community to boost each other for grindy stuff for years and yet Rockstar barely touched the surface of this concept.
@@babaloons4887 single player is the best game ever the story is slow but beautiful, and online is enjoyable for a while if you have friends to play with.
I think the big problem is the pay is realistic for the value of money back then, but the prices are abnormally high. A realistic firearm price would be under $30, closer to 5-20 range. Obviously rope would be pennies.
I used to love the collector role before the nerf. I would spend my weekend exploring the beautiful map of RDR collecting coins, jewelry and arrowheads, it was so relaxing. After the nerf I didn’t have the will to spend my time on the collector role.
@@breadymold3206 it's been nerfed for a while they just made the most profitable ones random drops I keep getting the same fucken half dollar all the time
I was really excited for Collector when it was announced because it made me think I'd be doing exploration, and maybe even discover things you normally would never see. Like for example, there are a lot of caves in RDR2 but they are so well hidden that you'll miss most of them. Imagine spelunking in a dank cave or some interesting derelict landmark to find fun treasure. Instead we basically got a collectathon role that gets boring super fast. I like collectathons, in a collectathon game like Spyro or Gravity Rush, not in flipping Red Dead!
Tbf it gets boring fast but if you do it enough you actually do see tons of places you otherwise probably wouldn't know existed. Collecting has lead me to every main and minor caves as well as a lot of other cool stuff. I get its still boring as all fuck but
@Quark Whaaaat does this have to do with the comment I made? I mean you're entitled to your beliefs as long as you respect one another's beliefs (which you clearly aren't), so you're just making yourself look like an ignorant fool trying to pick a fight. Incredibly rude..
Rockstar makes great story modes but when it comes to them maintaining online modes they kinda suck. It's honestly a shame because it has so much potential and it winds up being so mediocre or bad. I wish the fanbase and oversaturation of these games would just stop so people could let it die, so se can maybe get something new or at least get rockstar to listen. I'm sick of having everyone get so hyped over another medicore to bad update while there's much better games and modes already out there.
People are zombies to online game play and the grind lol, no matter how shit or toxic it is they won’t stop and they make these companies rich on mediocrity so we’ll lose the battle of real gameplay and campaign in the long run sadly
I remember as a kid I read a book, I think it was called "Where the red fern grows" and I remember the main character was a kid who wanted to buy a horse and a rifle and i think the total price was going to cost him 100 bucks for the horse and 25 bucks for the gun. I dont remember when the story was supposed to take place but I think it was during the 1930's which is decades after when red dead takes place. So why rope in a time where money was less inflated costs more than double what the horse and gun costed that kid is beyond me and I have no clue what the fuck rock star was thinking when they decided to balance the economy or red dead online.
Everything is expensive because its actualy really easy to make money. I have 70K and 1000 gold bars and haven't played in 6 months. There is nothing to buy because all they do is have money and xp bonuses instead of releasing actual content.
@@Cinnamontoastcrunch1029 Right but wasnt the whole reason he bought the dogs was to train them to hunt raccoons or something so he can trade the pelts for money so he could buy the horse and gun? I dunno it's been years since I read the book.
The lack of Crossplay was one of the main reasons that kept me from playing RDO. With almost all my friends playing on PC (I'm on Xbox), there's really not much motivation to play solo.
the collector role has collections of items witch pay out more than individual items. Before you could get all the best collections in one day, but rockstar seeing the online collector maps appearing now made it so you have to collect for an entire week to get a collection. Plus all spawns are more randomized so you spend more time. Before me and friends played red dead for 3 hours and made 250 to 500 each day so was very profitble. Now maybe that in one week
@@kirkportz6812 The fact that you’re defending the nerf so they can make it grindier and make it impossible to purchase certain things now to new players is the reason why I’m glad RDO is dying
it would be cool if they treated it more like a mmo, not with levels etc. but with housing, story missions, complete storylines, rewards only if you do the story. Raids, with many enemies, cooperation missions that give the player a reason to play with friends (maybe these missions are too hard on your own). Heists that unlock Outfits for example, A mission where you gotta Steal a Train and deliver its goods to some people, A REAL CAMP, Where youre gotta Build it up with gather wood or something. There arent really any things that aint possible, espacially if you got The Ground base. A REASON TO PLAY THE GAME. The Problem is that, from the start there was nothing and they just added Hunter Role etc. but i mean you play as an "Outlaw". it aint the problem that you cant do much with the Time-Period, sure you cant introduce many new weapons or flying Horses but you can do so much with this world... Maybe put a gamemode in this where you can Defend a site or your camp and Other Players need to take it or loot it. I mean you got this beautiful Open World, but youre doing absolutely nothing with it. Sorry for bad English.
I’m so glad you are talking about this- it’s just so sad to see a very promising game get left behind for no reason. This could have been a major cash cow for them if they just updated it. I will never understand the thinking. I played the beta, and the community at that time was pretty large. Then people began falling off because there was no new content. I was one of those players, though I stuck it out for a little while longer. Now, I play it on and off, but there’s just nothing to do. By this point we should have had properties, farms, and wagons, yet all there is is essentially the same as when it started out.
There is ONE plot heist thing. It's after the "where your morals lead you" opening thing. High honour leads you to a (currently on a cliffhanger) story of vengeance, whereas if you do low honour, you Rob the bank in Rhodes. Personally, I want more online plot stuff, give high honour players plot-like missions like a spaghetti western, give low honour players train robberies, stage coach stickups, Bankrobberies and the like. Here's how it could work. At some point Cripps asks you in camp if you'd like to offer your services to those in need, he spreads the word, and eventually you get a letter from a client telling you to meet them at a certain location. High honour players meet a strange lady who's paying you to find her sister or something. Low honour players meet a corrupt politician that wants you to steal something from the local police station. To that end, they first send you on some quicker missions, in the former its chasing a paper trail to find the sister's location, in the latter its setting up distractions and diversions, as well as Intel gathering, so heist goes more smoothly. Once completed, the client thanks you, gives you a big payout, and then you receive another letter from a different client. Rinse and repeat
Well you see the thing is that actually takes a little bit of effort, because it isn’t just boosted rdo for certain events that you can literally play whenever you want
I remember playing RDO at the beginning of the pandemic with my buddy, after three months of playing I've made around 57k and 200+ gold but stopped playing because every update ( like 1 haha) the lobbys would break, no animals, disconnection error and once I got everything I wanted it became just boring because lack of content, but I had a fun time with it.
Yep, I started playing the online with a friend when the lockdown started. Gold was super easy to get back then with daily challenges. I think I had a ~160 day streak that ended when I went on a trip. I still have over $25k and 300 gold even after buying stupid cosmetics like John Marston’s outfit for 59 gold lol
Gee, let me think of some things they could add to Red Dead Online in about 5 Seconds. More clothes, Flesh out Mexico and Guarma finally, Ferry Boat Properties, Undead Nightmare 2, more fish, new classes, more random events, LTE's aaand that's time. If they had trickled that kind of stuff out, I would be satisfied with content. But no, so far we got essentially one more class and a bunch of guns nobody uses because everyone just uses the Mauser or sawed off once they can.
I agree an alien dlc would be really cool. Maybe you encounter someone who seems crazy spouting off about aliens. Only to follow a fun questline about tracking them down. Such a missed opportunity
Best thing: the blood money missions have been buggy if you play it with friends. There was one where we would never reach part 3 of a specific mission, no matter how often we played part 2.
I really love RDR2 Online. When it comes down to free roam its so much more fun than GTA. Unfortunately Rockstar can't fathom adding heists and base game content such as robbing stores and trains. Instead they keep adding more currency types and increasing the prices on clothes and horses that are worse than others. So much wasted potential...
the saving grace for the online rdr2, is honestly the community tools and whatnot. I sort have to point this out, despite agreeing with most of what you say, but the game sort of forces you to hunt efficiently and pick your pray, in the case of the trader role. Something i don't feel as much when playing gtao. The collector role, is made much more bearable because the community actuality has a working map of all collectibles on that given day.
Let's not forget that if you have the Trader role and hunt animals, it directly conflicts with the Naturalist role. So every animal you hunt 'upsets' the NPC that gives you Naturalist missions. When you go and speak to her(forgotten her name) she refuses to talk to you for a certain time, and if you 'upset' her enough she will knock your character out and dump you elsewhere on the map.
RDR2 is my all-time favorite game and it makes me sad how neglected the online is. Like bruh, just add bank and train heists and it'd be so much better. Let me buy and decorate a house, too.
Been playing since beta. I absolutely cannot recommend this game to anybody. I love it so much, it's probably in my top 5 favorite games of all time, which is saying a lot because I've been playing video games since I was practically an embryo. But the story mode is the only part I can recommend. As much time as I've put into Online (way more than I ever did in single player) across multiple platforms, it's just horrible. Absolutely terrible. It is literally a full time job to grind this game. You have to micromanage so much shit and make sure you're doing everything in the most optimal way possible. Unless you have friends to grind with, or just fuck around with in general, it's just not a fun experience. I've played MMOs like PSO2 with less grind. Unless Rockstar puts out an MASSIVE update with actually new content, not just rotated clothing items, then maybe it'll be worth checking out then. But, for now, don't buy the game unless you're paying the full price to get the story mode and online. I will never recommend RDO at $20.
During Epic Games winter sale, it was $29.99 (US) dollars for the full game. I had an unused $10 coupon as well, used it there and got the full game for $19.99. At that price it’s a STEAL. Haven’t touched online yet, and from what I’ve heard I probably won’t.
By the way, the honour system is a little strange. Some people care about having good honour so they don't take up the missions that do the opposite. However, despite the fact that I've done tons of missions which give me bad honour, I'm still at full good honour. This is because all you have to do is brush/pat/feed your horse and you get good honour from that. Not as quickly as the missions of course, but considering you're doing it constantly, your honour will rarely ever change from being in the high levels of good honour.
I actually disagree that rdr2 online doesn't have the same potential for monetizable items as gtav. Even back in rdr1 online you had exotic mounts like buffalo, bring those back. Also, I've spent millions on clothes alone in gtav and I'd gladly do the same in rdr2 online if clothes were reasonably priced and if there were more than 15 of any given type of clothing. They could make rdr2 online just as profitable as gtav online if they were willing to put in the effort.
Yep totally agree. They could add a full customizable wagon system, being able to change as much as you can on your saddle. A wagon thief system where you can sell stolen wagons at a wagon fence. Properties obviously. I would be super down with undead nightmare lobbies as well.
You're the first person that I've seen mention this. Back when RDO was initially announced, one of the first things that came to mind was the crazy types of mounts there'd be. Considering how wild the vehicles/weapons in GTA V got & the fact that the previous Red Dead already had cool mounts that ranged beyond horses, I thought it was going to be a given that RDO would go in the direction of having crazy mounts for our online players such as the Lion from Single Player, or even some of the bigger Legendary Animals in the game. Never even crossed my mind that we'd be limited to the mounts and guns from Single Player
Muta, 18:00 describes my life at work. I have 10 hour shifts at 25/hr so $250 per shift, and its always the same quantity of work. However if I work too fast at the beginning of the shift I may complete my load in 6-8 hours, and then they will send me home early. Making as little as $150 for the same amount done. It doesn't make any sense to me why they won't pay me more to get more done in less time. Apparently being efficient is no longer a good trait
People shouldn't be excited for GTA6. All Rockstar is focused on is micro transactions. At this point I have learned to just wait and watch the disaster unfold.
This is without even mentioning the massive list of serious bugs and exploits in the game, some of which have been present for at least a year since I've been playing. In the last "update" (blood money) they claimed to fix a list of bugs, but for every 1 fix 2 more were introduced - it's hard to believe they even test the new patches and updates before release. RDR2 is an amazing game but it's like an entirely different game company was left in charge of the online component.
It’s so funny that you make a video about this, because I just recently bought the game and didn’t expect too much. I was overwhelmed by the amount of detail, graphics, performance and general gameplay. I didn’t know it had an online mode, so I got hyped like crazy but i really couldn’t believe that all the servers are dead. It’s such a pain.
I mean to be fair if you're a new player this game is fun considering you got a billion things to unlock however once you reach level 100 and unlocked all roles the games boring af
What I’m noticing in a lot of games is that the mission payout is trash but it’s the loot you get on the way that adds up to the final reward. However you have to seek the loot and grind for it!
Frankly, I never cared for their online scams. I played a lot of GTAV without ever touching the online component, and I'm happy with my experience. If R* wasn't such a massive dick to modders, this wouldn't be an issue at all.
RDR Online was Rockstar’s attempt to see how P2P would pan out expensive guns being rank 4-14 and dirt cheap guns being 45-98 it’s literally grind indefinitely or spend money
I don't understand why rockstar, with it's giant company and budget won't just add a few simple things to it's game that everyone has been asking for for so long. Things like bank and train robberies, property, and making legendary animals free to hunt without needing a license!!!!

Rockstar has been doing a lot wrong, it’s beyond frustrating
Thats what greed does to companys
Rockstar: WE NEED MORE MONEY
Nothing new there.
They're just following the bags of cash
This guys thumbnail is too funny
when you get scammed and the scammer is happy - the thumbnail
Yes, they evolved on the model from GTA online. Profit is the main purpose
Modern AAA gaming development in a nutshell
If you consider GTA Online a great online experience, then you've been desensitized.
Is so nice that this topic is finally going viral, the community and the game has been neglected for years with worse and worse updates to this date.
People need to realize, Rockstar games is not the same company anymore
Amen
I agree, I’m glad everyone is bringing light to this situation. I hope Rockstar actually takes action instead of watching from the shadows like they normally do
I still love RDR2 though both Online and Story. Games beautiful.
Honestly this topic has always been viral, anyone who has played RDO knows this already. Rockstar just doesn't care because GTA is just always gonna make them more money
This is coming from ignorance, so don't bash me please. But, isn't this game like only 2 years old at most?
What a shame, to think that in the past, Rockstar was perceived as one of the honourable and good gaming development studio of the Early 2000s to now becoming a Company similarly to Electronic Arts.
@YeaMan na
The only hope is Fromsoft now
I agree
Nah, they are as bad... as Activision.
They created mondern gaming, the way things are now is mostly their faults
I agree with most of these but the ability cards is balanced imo
Facts! But without the abblity cards PVP would only be a auto aim one tap headshot fest
-Zeppelins / Blimps / Hot Air Balloons
-Permanent Properties like in GTA
-Ferries, Boats, Canoes, Ironclad Ships
-Undead Nightmare / Aliens / Cowboys vs Indians
-More Businesses, Weapons, Clothing
The root of the problem clearly is that GTA Online is their cashcow, more kids are hooked on pop culture and sci-fi toxic shooting matches in LA than they are on a gritty open-world wild west. Sure its technically more impressive, has better gameplay, graphics, community and style- but it isn't an addictive dopamine-fuel game like GTA, which means it isn't going to get much if any attention.
Yacht or whatever their call like from GTA online
Map change like from Fortnite
New country like map expansion
@@basilplushie2534 they got a casino yacht in the game, its just not released yet. You can to it with the Cecil Tucker Legendary Bounty mission.
if they are fine with 10 to 15 year old kids making their industry spin it's fine by me cause they aint geting any money from me ever again ( anyway never bought 1 single gta ) i made an exception for rdr for which i paid 80 euros and it was the greatest experience of my life but as you said it's a serious game which requires serious brain, love and attanetion for details for the beauty of the wild west and also a bit of love for history all things which clearly kids dont have.
GTA is not fun to me, RDO is more appealing world but completely empty. Idfk more people would be on RDO if they invested into it but too risky for them if it flops.
@@basilplushie2534that's gotta be one of the more obvious, "you are definitely a kid" comments I've seen.
Same and it pisses me off
Agreed, used to love both games. but the way its setup feels like they are stealing your time rather than giving you any fun, it just shows how little they care about any kind of ''Legacy'' with their games, its all setup just to make it frustrating and make you spend real money. tho i can hardly imagine people buying anything, as in GTA 5 for example, ask a modder and you will be rich in like half an hour. it just doesnt make any sense, stopped playing gta and RDR2 online, just because its so convoluted now, its hard to find the ''fun'' in the game.
GTA was literally in the same state at this time after release. Most folks aren't day 1 gta multiplayers, so they don't know this.
Too many idiots buy shark cards in GTA online, thats where the money is, so thats where Rockstar put their effort
GTA IV > GTA V > RDR2.
My RDO experience: make a character, buy some clothes, guns and complete the incomplete story missions and move on from the game because I have everything I needed. There is really no point in playing that game. As you said it's better to just wander around in story mode and immerse yourself in it
Sadly this is pretty much it for me too, pvp is a unbalanced, glitchy and sometimes hacky mess, and theres not much else to do.
This. If you want to "immerse yourself in the game world" single player is just an objectively superior experience.
I wish they had kept the feel from the original RDR's online mode.
That was the perfect game for me for such a long time.
"Well canons would be OP" Nope, make them a wagon item that takes time to set up, take time to load means it's better if in a group, but it would still reward you with great firepower for a ambush or hold out mission, no group is scary if you got grapeshots :)
You could also expand on the roles, make a storage shed to be able to keep dead animals in better supply or traps that can be set up to collect animals or scare them into.
You're Hired
They don’t care about making it a good experience if it doesn’t make money. GTA online in the later years was mediocre at best.
So much missed potential
Business are exactly what the game is missing but Rockstar will never add them
Dude it’s so obvious they don’t even have to get that creative with it.
I love your thinking
Try to program that in the rdr ip😂😂😂
Rooftop rumble days take me back to my old ps3 that thing still runs pretty good meanwhile I’ve gone through 2 ps4’s
they acually do it for most if not all jobs and races too i think
Well said at the end there. something I’ve always noticed is that rockstar know how to make a good game and additional content for those games. But they don’t know how to fix any of it, so they just keep adding more to distract people. And it becomes an unfixable mess, like red dead
Back when a $20,000 payout was good 😂
2014 grinding rooftop rumble and trying to recreate all the stunt montages, that era is undefeated
The potential for rdo is really insane. It’s obvious they don’t care
The thing that pisses me off the most? No passenger trains in RDO to rob. There is a train. But always a cargo train. The containers and boxes around the world could do better than to be empty as well. How hard is that? I like going around and finding stuff.
The story mode is fantastic so it's hard to believe that they messed up like this for online
TBH, I think it's just because the idea of an online game is better than an online game.
@@tianamaycry Yeah well, lucky for me, I love story modes and single player games
@@anthonyernst999 Me too, single player is usually my jam. Too bad that's not where the money is if you're making games.
The money didn't start POURING in like it did with GTA online, so the CEO said fuck red dead online, open the money faucet again
I'll never understand why everyone thinks the only way to monetize a rockstar game is with futuristic tech. The roles are a great example of how they can do it....if they would just take it further. The average RDO player doesn't want the same things in a game that your average GTA player does.
That's exactly what I was thinking
most gta players dont like the future tech either, but its best in slot so its used
I don't think futuristic tech is what they want.
Plus GTA Fanbase & Red dead Are two different Kinds.
Like a fight club dlc
I would gladly take more RDR2 single player content, even a new Undead expansion, but I ain't holding my breath
So much of this
Rockstar can't hear the term "single player DLC" over the sound of all that fat fucking cash launching out of shart cards.
Right? Fuck online. Give me that sweet sweet single player supernatural shit.
Single player DLC would be so fucking good.
Sea of Thieves does not deserve this comparison, there is a lot you can do right now.
All that grinding just for it to become free for TP
Rockstar wouldn’t even spit in your direction man, I don’t think they be giving us anything.
I gave up on that game a long time ago. Sorry you’re still hoping
listen, I know where everyone is coming from and Rockstar kinda slapped us in the face, but if you are like me, you can still enjoy the game just playing with friends hunting or moonshining or bounty hunting and whatever.
RDO could have gone to a LOT of ways like:
- steampunk machines and guns (there is an abandoned Tesla building if u remember)
- new activities: gold mining and selling, working for a circus (Barnum anyone?), etc.
Good points

Like... imagine the content they could milk from Guarma
It’s been years of fans throwing out legitimately good ideas/reasonable wants for a truly beautiful game full of potential. How do you NOT do an Undead Nightmare sequel? Not even for Halloween?
Exactly, I wanna kill zombies.
this makes me so sad, it's such a beautiful game and the soundtrack and mmmmm dude I have spent hours playing with friends just vibing, fishing and hunting and hanging out with the bois, I feel like I need to give it that final squeeze and play it because it'll probably just be gone one day :'c

The whole focus of RDO should have been war. Instead they went with a tiny story component and a bunch of busy work.
Ye, I love it too, but it is kinda empty
My exact opinion right here
Yup, I love it with friends.

It’s a small idea but I always thought boxing matches like what Charles did in the epilogue would be cool. Of course there’s so many other ideas that could be implemented and expanded on for RDO, but that’s just one thing I always thought could be pretty nifty
Nifty on fiftys cuhhhhh
1v1 boxing matches, where other players can bet on which player to win and get money.

This is the first time I've been sad about a game because those are things I'd just do without a fucking prompt.

There's actually diminishing returns on missions and the rewards increase at set intervals, so there's an optimal time to complete if you really want to min/max.

Basically The Game is a Massive Grind worse than Free to Play Games than once you have money you realise there's nothing to really buy once you've got a decent horse, some nice outfits and the best guns (the best guns since you don't need to buy all the guns)
Gold especially is hard to come across even a grind if you're modding
"Why is rope alone $350? That is criminal-"
Me in Yakuza, selling Kiryu's niece so he can afford to repair a broken 6-trillion-yen monkey wrench: "Damn, who would ever want to play something so grindy and unrealistic?"

Do they only hire the most incompetent people they can find to make this content or are they trying to get players to quit the game?
I’m so glad you are talking about this- it’s just so sad to see a very promising game get left behind for no reason. This could have been a major cash cow for them if they just updated it. I will never understand the thinking. I played the beta, and the community at that time was pretty large. Then people began falling off because there was no new content. I was one of those players, though I stuck it out for a little while longer. Now, I play it on and off, but there’s just nothing to do. By this point we should have had properties, farms, and wagons, yet all there is is essentially the same as when it started out.
@Quark Lmao found the undercover evangelical
That took a sharp left turn.
@Quark uhh that’s just depressing that ur trying to disprove a natural force. Some people are literally retarted. U can’t prove or disprove God genius
@Quark Fuck all religions make your own
@Quark who asked?
Words to the wind partner , words in the wind
Could you please visit my channel and give me your opinion about it
I remember playing RDO at the beginning of the pandemic with my buddy, after three months of playing I've made around 57k and 200+ gold but stopped playing because every update ( like 1 haha) the lobbys would break, no animals, disconnection error and once I got everything I wanted it became just boring because lack of content, but I had a fun time with it.
Yep, I started playing the online with a friend when the lockdown started. Gold was super easy to get back then with daily challenges. I think I had a ~160 day streak that ended when I went on a trip. I still have over $25k and 300 gold even after buying stupid cosmetics like John Marston’s outfit for 59 gold lol
my hard drive is completely fucked, thanks to red dead and it’s random crashing, but yet i kept going back, like an abusive relationship.
Fans: We insist you release Undead Nightmare 2.
Rockstar:………..insist?………..
Nice to see Muta talking about this, hopefully this brings some awareness to the whole situation.
The problem is not that the game is too grindy.
There is just not enough stuff to spend the money on.
I will never recommend RDO at $20.
tl;dr game fucking sucks just play single player
Oh god it's the thirsty Karma dispensers from Fallout 3 all over again.
_"इतना मारा हुआ ऑनलाइन मैंने आज तक अपने जिंदगी में खेला नहीं...(cuts off)"_
Rough Translation: I've never played such a dead online in my life.
*Customizable Hot Air Balloons*
And nothing of value was lost. RDR2 online was the most boring experience I’ve had in an online game. Single player fucking slaps tho
Amen🙏🏻
RDR2 could be fucking sick. They just aren’t putting in the work for it to be that way.
RDR Online was Rockstar’s attempt to see how P2P would pan out
expensive guns being rank 4-14 and dirt cheap guns being 45-98
it’s literally grind indefinitely or spend money
Red dead online is more dead than EDP’s social media presence
I don't understand why rockstar, with it's giant company and budget won't just add a few simple things to it's game that everyone has been asking for for so long. Things like bank and train robberies, property, and making legendary animals free to hunt without needing a license!!!!
