I had to chuckle as you were describing the needle threader on your new machine because I could so relate! When I bought my new Babylock Ellisimo in 2009, the one feature that impressed me the most was the fully automatic needle threader! I didn’t have to do a thing other than position the thread just as you described for your Pfaff, and I was impressed beyond words! My Ellisimo is an embroidery machine, so I was changing thread colors multiple times in any given project. You can imagine how useful this feature is for embroidery…and it has worked every single time without fail for the past 15 years! That auto needle threader was worth every penny I spent on the machine, which was almost $5K at the time. Congratulations, Jan, and enjoy your beautiful new Pfaff!
Last June purchased the Creative Icon 1. I'm telling you, I have watched this thing for 5 years, never thinking I could ever own one and here I am!!!! I started playing with it and the thing I found so amazing, I pulled up a design on my computer went and looked and there it was on my sewing machine.........I couldn't believe it, what a wonderful thing.. So I'm in Heaven too like you. Happy sewing.
Just broke my Automatic Needle Threader. Wish it had been put in any one of the videos that it was only supposed to be used with certain size needles. That would have been a large help.
@@florence775 Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Were you able to get it fixed? Also, I am considering buying a used Creative Icon 1. Would you care to share which needles are not okay for the automatic needle threader? Did you get your used or new? Thank you!
@@sophiaz5999 Just now found your reply. I bought my Icon 1 new. Will be happy to tell you about the needle, but have to wait till morning, it’s almost 1 am where I am.
New toys are so much fun! I’m still learning about my Bernina! Many of the features you love on your Pfaff, I love about my machine: large bobbin, nice flat surface area, thread cutters everywhere, bobbin thread doesn’t have to be up and through the tiny hole to sew (what?! Get out! Amazing!), little video steps built into computer…. Love my machine! My Janome wasn’t making a buttonhole complete either! I was tired of incomplete oval shapes; sort of mastered completing those by the time I decided I was done! Enjoy❤️😊
Congratulations on your new Pfaff. I have the Creative Icon which I have used some. The dealer my sisters and I bought our machines from went out of business after we were promised classes and left us high and dry. I have purchased classes on line but being a garment construction person I really struggle. My little community is in the sticks compared to places I have lived so I have to order thread, zippers, patterns and etc. My older Pfaff’s were a breeze to use. I had sewed on Janome’s and Brother machines for years and this Pfaff I can say I am lost! Wishes you tons of luck with your new machine! Happy Sewing!
What a wonderful blessing, and thank you for sharing the testimony. I was blessed similarly in December, very long story - but I got an upgrade from my Brother Quattro to the Quattro 2 for free. It still makes me emotional that the Lord did that. I know how you feel - the machine is wonderful , but the blessing to see how He provided because He knew you wanted it. ❤❤
I’d love to have a Featherweight, just for the historic value. My computerized machine died so I replaced it with a 500a Rocketeer. If people can afford a new machine, I say go for it! But I’ll never spend that money on something that can’t be fixed again. But she’s beautiful!
My Pfaff is 30+ ! OMGosh I haven’t thought about how old it is until I realized I bought it when our son was around 3…he’s 35! Awesome machine and I’ve never had a problem…not 1.
Congratulations! You are blessed and I know you will bless others through this. I understand! I love your videos. They inspire me to get busy. Blessings!
That has just the most gorgeous sleek profile and looks so full of promise for the creation of beautiful things 👗. I love your excitement and joy with its features. We've all said it but you certainly deserved that machine 👏🏼. Onward and upward!! 🧵👚xx😘xx
Bonjour Jen, it's been a long time! Félicitations on your beautiful new sewing machine, I was blessed by my husband last year with a new one that can sews bags and all, it is a game changer! Bonne journée mon amie! And enjoy your new toy! Christine 🇨🇦
Congratulations on your new Pfaff! Its an outstanding machine and I'm sure you will run it's course and discover all the wonderful things it can do. Love a new toy...enjoy!
O' Jen! I know you are in sewing heaven! I can't wait to hear about your Machine. I'm in the process of getting READY to purchase a new sewing machine so this will be interesting.😊
Awesome! I love my Pfaff Icon and yes, the season was here and I knew I was ready for it. I had used my mom's Kenmore, an inexpensive Singer I bought that ate my fabric, then years later borrowed my mother-in-law's Pfaff 7570, then her Husqvarna Viking Designer SE model. At 59, it was time to buy a machine of my own and I bought the icon sewing and embroidery model because I became hooked on embroidery. Enjoy your Pfaff!
So thrilled for you! I felt the exact same way when I got a brand new machine to replace my 30 year old machine. Isn’t it fun to try out all the new and fun things on a new machine; doesn’t it make you feel like a kid at Christmas! And this is one gift that keeps on being exciting long after the box is gone! Congratulations!
I received mine 6 months ago. A deal I couldn't pass it up. Yes, a separate embroidery. Not a combo. Village Sewing has a 4 part UA-cam overview of the Icon Ivon.
I love your new machine! I have the Creative Icon 5 and I love it. It looks a lot like your machine. I have mine set up to do all kinds of things for me, like tie off at the beginning and end of a seam with a touch of a button, how nice! Yours has that feature also. It’s just amazing what those machines can do. You can even disconnect your foot pedal and use the start button to sew with. I could go on and on, but I won’t, you will find out for yourself soon. Have fun and create something beautiful!
@@TodayinJensSewingRoom , oh wow! If I did that I’d never get any sewing done! You will have fun trying out all the bells and whistles available on your machine, and the majority of them are on mine as well. I thought about upgrading to a new Pfaff, but when I saw the price, I started looking around at used machines and found mine, it was in perfect condition and still is. I think they add one or two new features with each upgrade so my machine is leaps and bounds ahead of my older Pfaff that I bought new in the 80’s. That machine is still going strong also! Enjoy the journey!
I love “know what you want”. I inherited the family Singer featherweight that all my sisters learned to sew on. ( None of my sibs wanted it). I used it about 3 times, and it drove me nuts! I gifted it to a dear friend who treasures it and uses it frequently. I would add : #5- go shopping without cash or a credit card until you have done your research. Delighted to see you sooooh happy with this machine. O hope you still feel the same next year. I too upgraded my old plain Janome to the memory craft, and I don’t think I should’ve, it is so hard to get to know it. Look forward to seeing the first garment you make on it. Love all your makes.
Okay, gotta tell ya...You're looking quite angelic in your lovely white dress with your pretty white hair my friend. 😇 Seriously, your light is shining sister. 🥰 Enjoy this season with that wonderful machine. That model or anything close to it by PFAFF has been on my bucket list, but not on my radar. I looked into getting one a couple years ago and realized that I could not afford it...not even close.🤑 I'm sew happy for you and look forward to learning more about this beautiful brand via your videos. I'm drooling over that walking foot feature. My current machine has the SEWNet feature and I have never utilized it. You have inspired me to look into it. 👍🏾
I actually had to look close last time and saw that you have a really nice Viking - apparently those and Pfaff are the only ones with SewNet. You should check it out! I think it's mainly tailored towards embroidery but they have some things for sewing in general. I'm so overwhelmed by this thing - I've never had anything this nice ever in my life! God is so good. And thanks, what lovely compliments! You are so sweet to say such kind things. And I didn't even make the dress and my roots need lightening up again! 😂 Hope the collection is going well! Can't wait to see it. xox
I wish you much pleasure with your brand new beauty! It will certainly be well used and hopefully that grandbaby will get some beautiful garments. You will treasure it for many years to come.
Jen, I’m so happy for you! It’s wonderful to see how excited you are about this. God bless you and I hope He blesses you every time you sit to sew anything and everything! I have the Pfaff Creative 7560 and it has never let me down. I have recently bought a Babylock Soprano to learn to quilt. Haven’t done it yet, though. Enjoy that beautiful machine.
A NEW TOY!!!!!!!!!!!!! How fun for you!!! I bought (invested) in a brand new Baby Lock Crescendo machine 3 years ago. It also has the fully automatic needle threader like your machine has, a large computer screen and a very large throat area. The machine will alert me when the bobbin thread is running low and stop sewing before actually running out. I'll bet yours probably does too. Enjoy getting to know your new machine, Jen! How exciting for you!!! YAY!!! 😃
Yes a lovely machine! My wish list for a new sewing machine includes the features I already have on my existing machine(automatic buttonholes, blind hem stitch, zigzag, overlock stitch, some stretch & decorative stitches, adjustable presser foot tension, zipper foot, etc.). And the extra ones that I would very much enjoy would be a built in walking foot system (like on your Pfaff), and adjustable speed control. Know you will so enjoy your new Pfaff - it is high on my list of machines for purchase!
Hi Jen, what a great, informative vlog that explains the whole process we go through when considering a new sewing machine. The new machine is just brilliant. It seems amazing with all those features. Very modern. And it was great to hear about your featherweight too (which I absolutely love btw). I look forward to seeing what you make with the new Pfaff. Enjoy and happy sewing ❤❤
Bless you! I had that machine and sold it when the new Creative Icon 2 came out. I paid way too much for the new one and have yet to embroider on it. The reason I bought it was to embroider quilts. I have enjoyed making garments on it. That is a sweet machine and I’m sure you will really enjoy it. I’m sew happy for you!
Congratulations 🎉 on your new machine. ❤. I love your enthusiasm as spoke of the new to you features, it is amazing how much smaller computers have gotten and the power they can incorporate into a sewing machine! The auto needle threaders are great as is the fact you can just start sewing without worrying about the bobbin thread. I hope you continue to be amazed at the things it can do and enjoy the journey. As for bringing Michelle with you…. It’s always easy to spend someone else’s 💸. 😉🥰. I’m glad she was able to go with you… did you purchase at the Charlotte sewing center? I’m familiar with the area and actually met up with Michelle a couple of years ago. I didn’t make it to Florida this year. My aunt has a house in port Charlotte. Have fun!
Oh Jen I am so happy for you! I bought myself for retirement a Pfaff Creative Icon, I love it. This is my 3rd Pfaff machine, I also have a featherweight. I wanted to stick with a Pfaff because I love the brand, love the machines I have had. I have NO regrets but......as I have watched repair shops and dealers disappear I am going to have to travel and motel stay to receive service. We need to push for more dealers and service centers. I live in Coastal North Carolina and I sure do miss the dealer we used to have here. Enjoy your machine,
Congratulations. I look forward to seeing what you create. I have never owned a Pfaff but I have had all the rest. You are so right about what to look for in a machine. I wish I had followed those suggestions when I bought my machines.
Congratulations! And many happy hours of sewing on your new sewing machine!!! I purchased a Husquavana Epic 980Q five years ago…it was a major upgrade and pretty pricey….but I love it!! Bought it on time and it is officially paid for now! It is a work horse. I make alterations on dance costumes for my granddaughter’s dance studio, which has led to alterations on prom gowns, bridal party dresses, homecoming dresses. I love making quilts, rope bowls, Small purses, Halloween costumes for my grand children, and garments (only for me). My 980Q has never let me down! Good luck with your new machine !!! 💕💕PS…can’t wait to see what you make❣️
Jen....How fun! I am STILL sewing on my Phaff 1475. It was new when my husband bought it for me 1988 or 1989:) Parts are heard to now:( I am 64 now and have been sewing since I was 11 years old. Hoping my Phaff can hold up for a long while yet... and by the way I was born in Sarasota Fla.....now in southern CA.....ENJOY! I watch all the time:)
May you enjoy it to the fullest! I have been contemplating getting a new machine but I already have a couple of vintage ones that were given to me and seem more reliable than the one I spent money on 😂. I think for me it is a season for figuring out how to make the most of what I already have, like really learning to use all the attachments.
Congratulations on your new machine. How fun is that?! I have a Brother Dream Machine and it truly is a dream. It is everything I ever wanted and more. I hope your new machine is like that for you.
I love your new machine. ❤ I want a new machine but I don't need one! My old girl serves me perfectly, there's just a couple of features I would like but aren't really necessary so I'm holding off making that purchase for now. 😇😂 Enjoy! ❤
Perfect choice! What an incredibly beautiful machine! 💖 I've been looking at that one too and have decided to go with this one instead of the Creative Icon 2 since I really don't want an embroidery machine at this time. Especially if I'm not going to use it AND...I just don't have the SPACE to work in that would accommodate a machine of that size. AHA! See...I'm following those important questions and will save myself $$$$$ and a lot of frustration 😉 Enjoy your new machine! All of your new makes will be beautiful and happy! Thanks for sharing 💝
Wonderful! I just bought this exact machine for my birthday in May. It’s sensitive though. I had to take it in for servicing already. The needle threader and tension was out of order. I’m glad I bought it from the dealer. They took care of it quickly. Only issue I’m having trouble finding a case for it. The case that Pfaff makes is toooo much$$$$. The features are awesome! Overall, I love love it.

💕💕PS…can’t wait to see what you make❣️
Great buy! Hope you really have a long sewing life with it.
Congratulations!!! On your new machine. You are going to love it! Enjoy!
I lived for about 5 years in Mission Viejo - now in south Florida! We are opposites! And I'm 64 and been sewing about that long - it is a small world!
Congratulations!! You certainly do deserve it! Thank you for this video, it helped me with my priorities for buying a new machine. ❤
Wow what a great machine. A wonderful blessing indeed. Cant wait to see your first make you create off that machine.
Congratulations on your new machine. How fun is that?! I have a Brother Dream Machine and it truly is a dream. It is everything I ever wanted and more. I hope your new machine is like that for you.
Yay....your new machine! Congratulations!
I love your new machine. ❤ I want a new machine but I don't need one! My old girl serves me perfectly, there's just a couple of features I would like but aren't really necessary so I'm holding off making that purchase for now. 😇😂 Enjoy! ❤
Congratulations 🎉 I got a Performance Icon when they first came out and I love my machine. I know you will too. Have a blast!
Congratulations!!! I have a feeling I'll be exactly the same way when they call me and tell me my new Bernette is ready. I'm dying of anticipation.
What a really fun sewing machine! It’s soooooo nice!
Enjoy your machine Jen!!!
SEW happy for you! 🥰 Enjoy the learning curve. Your machine buying advise is very sensible.
Oh my fantastic congrats wow what a machine
Congratulations on your beautiful new machine! Have fun with it! Happy sewing!
Congratulations on your new machine 🎉 Thanks for the tips 😊
It's a beauty! I'm looking forward to seeing what you sew on it!
Congrats, bought my new machine last Oct
I agree about the case! I passed on that.
So happy for you! That is a great machine!🙋♀️
