The thing that blows me away the most when I see these years, is that I was born only 50 years after some of these. The ravages of time are incredible.
Life is fleeting, suddenly you're not there anymore.
I love how respectful you are while you are going through the cemeteries.
"Wolverine vibes" Too funny!
I almost spewed my coffee onto my keyboard. Love your channel.
Cheers from the beautiful Hudson Valley.
This place is so grand and breath taking. You have no clue what it means to us viewer's to be able to see places that are just like "WOW"! Because of you.. thank you for taking us along! Thank you
Thank you Dan. I really appreciate your work. It reminds me so much of when I was little going to the cemetery with my Nana. While she cleaned up relatives graves, I would wander through the old part and was intrigued by all the old headstones and looking at the ages of different people. So when I discovered your channel I was hooked. Brings back great memories, sorry for the long rant! 😂
3:12 the one with that glass door was awesome.
I did spot the carving in the old tree trunk, that was neat. But the cemetery on a whole was fascinating beautiful. 🇺🇸
Another awesome video. These walks you take us on are always so fascinating and relaxing, thank you so much for the effort you put into these ♥
I truly enjoy watching your videos! I often play it in the background as I am doing something as I do enjoy your voice (It is so relaxing and calm)!
Plenty of history with behind those stones. monuments etc!
What a fascinating tour! I love your videos because they take me to places I would otherwise never get to see. 😊
The statues are amazing and beautiful. I absolutely love your tours ❤
Thank you!! Appreciate the time you spend making these videos, and sharing them with us who can't get to those places.
Thanks Dan for this excellent series, you are a true taphophile, when you say you get off the plane and make you're way to this magnificent cemetery before you do anything else. Like those in repose their places of rest look as if they are in a state of decay.
The statues are amazing
Truly amazing, love this walk. Thank you Dan.
That is one beautiful chapel
"Wolverine hand" you have me laughing again! This is one magnificent walk, but the chaple was out of this world. Think of the time to mix the colors, paint all the images, it is a grand masterpiece, left open to people who de-face it. That bothers me. But you made an excellent effort to bring it all to us and thank you for that Dan. Please let me know how I can donate. You are selfless in bringing all of this to us! A great video! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Excellent as always❤
Thanks for sharing🇲🇾
Thank you for all the hard work. I don't have anything like this where I live. So this is absolutely amazing, stunning, and curiosity! ❤
Looked like Knights of the round table! That motif on the grave stone inset into the floor near the altar. Also thought the coloured columns with inscriptions were beautiful. Outside it was nice that the glass was clear in those mausoleum doors, so you could see quite clearly inside. Regarding the ceramic photos of people on graves, I wish there was someone who would photograph and record them for when/if they deteriorated too much to see, then a replacement could be arranged from the records. I think if I were doing family research it would quite devastate me to find the grave of a relative, and not having any photos of them in life, that would be so exciting to find and see….
Maybe cemeteries will see my comment and get a member of staff tasked with recording the photos on the graves?
Personally I see it as very important…being the last personal family link, not found elsewhere, and be honest, it doesn’t take that long, OR cost much to do, especially if that person tasked with doing it is already in the cemetery’s employ!
Phew! Off my soapbox now Dan…many thanks for another really fascinating tour.
Best wishes! 🙋♀️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's astounding that although the gravesites are darkly corroded by the longevity of time, Laeken cemetery is properly well kept despite several mausoleums being without door enclosures, like the Royal crypt of Jacque Cohen 11:01. What a shame a pane glass window and a decorative iron gate isn't installed in front and behind the famous person laid to rest. It must have been beautiful when the entire structure was complete. The mausoleums and stony graves have stood the test of time, and the testament shows they will endure longer for a lifetime.
Dan is always enjoy your UA-cam channel and the one Cemetery here in Belgium is really wonderful. I have seen other Cemetery walks in Ireland and Scotland after other people in channels and I noticed that a lot of the cemeteries they're not keeping up the beautiful mausoleums anymore. It is really sad that you can't see them fixed up and be able to visit them when they're done.
Olá. Sou brasileira e amo seus videos. Amo cemitérios.
That is a fairly neat clean cemetery
I love it so beautiful ❤
Hello Dan thanks for another interesting video I really enjoy your work. I watched the video about St. Jame's church on the Woodhead Pass if you're ever in the area again I can take you, or direct you, straight to her grave as I live in Tintwistle and knew her and her brother Gordon.
Your videos are always so fascinating! It'd be interesting if there were somebody from Brussels who could give us an insight about the peoples' whose names appear in the video...
Wow that looks totally amazing 😲 cannot wait 😍
The stautes: Immaculate Heart Mary, Jesus is the Sacred Heart & the Holy Family = Joseph, Jesus & Mary. Thank you for sharing.
Very impressive place
oops at the end 😂... thanks Dan! lovely walk in spite of the noise.. impressive chapel, gorgeous! ❤
The battle of Waterloo is a neat site in Brussels
Wow !!! Its beautiful...Thanks for taking us with you ❤
Preety sure they are Minton tiles, made in Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, England. The ones on the floor. The industry has all but vanished now Portmerron pottery is still here, all the big names have gone, Spode, Mintons. Etc. Marie from the UK
Tell the strimmer guy to stop it! 😂 great tour Dan, cheers dude 👏
Great work on your videos! You have captured the amazing cemetary of Laeken very well!
Did you also see the Royal Cript at the Church nearby? Also well worth the time...
Aw I missed a live chat 😢 hope your well @dead good walks
Do you ever wonder what lies beyond the grave if anything? I often wonder…
Best to figure it out before you get there. Eternity is a looong time to find out you were wrong!
That was really interesting Dan. I wonder why a lot of graves are sloped as opposed to flat?
❤😂😂❤❤❤❤
You mean a direct ansestor not decendant the current king is the decendant.
From the reincarnated King of James Scott somebody cannot be jew and then all of a sudden become English.
