Kinda but you really need to lose all your patterns on the HR16 and reprogram them before every show. Adds realism and tension. Fuck that thing was evil, the sequencer version was bad too.. to the point someone started selling after market patches for it.
No bad man. Vocals could do with some kind of pitch shifting / eventide effect to make it more accurate, but LOVE the bass and guitar tones and drum processing .
8:11 since you are using Reaper, you can do the "pseudo stereo" effect by plugging in the "pseudo stereo MDA" plugin, which does it either by the hass effect or combing the phase (I think)
Nice one! The bass tone is amazing, by the way! I have just, this week, bought an HR-16 & MMT-8 and can't wait to piss about with them. Also, don't fret about the vocals, you don't have a Brummie accent so it would be hard to replicate. 🤓
Love this vid man you nailed the sound, one of my favorite bands and Really inspired me to use a drum machine for music when I was hung up on not knowing any drummers lol
Sounds almost like it! As for the guitars, I was wondering if they double tracked, I don't think so either. The "copy/paste and move 1 slightly forward" trick we always get told NOT to do works in this instance!
Typically, I would, but since they said they recorded with just a stereo delay, they aren't in this track. Good too, since doubling up my weird and mostly improvised parts would've been a challenge!
Funny how I discovered and downloaded Sitala just a couple of days before this video came out. I already owned those HR16 samples, but I didn't know how to use them. Anyway, I've always tried to recreate that Streetclenear vibe, but you came closer to it.
IK has their own software manager program where you can download the free stuff. I didn't do anything special to get it, but go through their site and it should hopefully work for you!
You mean for the drum samples? I wasn't able to get wav files, only Live and Kontact, so they won't work with Reaper. The wavs must have been available in the past
Mechanical and unrelenting grooves, as industrial should be. I think I have that exact drum machine buried in my closet somewhere lol, it was like an Alesis 16 or whatever.
@@NickLeonard Best thing about a drum machine is that you don't have to rely on an idiot drummer who never learned to count to 4. People who talk about "not gelling with a band" are usually garbage rhythmically.
@@kennethfrazee2540 as a drummer myself, I'm offended! Sometimes I count all the way to 6 or 7 😂 It is especially sad when drummers refuse to learn to play to a metronome, every musicians needs to have the skill. Recording tools are cheaper and easier than ever, but you still have to be tight to a click, or you're gonna have a bad time!
Trying to sound like another band, no matter how much you like them, is a mistake. Was Broadrick trying to sound like anyone other than himself when writing/recording Streetcleaner? The only times imitation works is when the imitator is not good enough to copy and unintentionally creates something unique.
I agree with you from a creative perspective, but the point of this video is analyzing the interesting production and compositional techniques they used.
Not true at all, take a look at Nine inch Nails, that initial imitation evolved and changed over time to be the biggest industrial act ever. When creating something nothing should be barred and everything will eventually fall into place to create something unique
What did you think of my mix, did I capture the essence of Streetcleaner?
Very well done. You actually inspired me to buy the Album today since i Sold my copy a long time ago.
Yes
I saw Godflesh in Belfast last weekend. It was insanely heavy. You did a great job.
I think you EQed the bass wrong, but everything else is spot on.

I had those drum machines in 95-2000 we were experimenting with heavy industrial metal.
That bass sound is glorious!
Thanks! The bass is super important on the album, and in my version
Thank you from Russia! Godflesh is great band
Immidietly as the music starts, I'm fucking loving it.

Thank you !!!
This is my favorite metal band of all time and this album was a game changer for me..
Thank you for making this
Awesome... very informative and you did a killer job making that demo song for it!
Minesweeper was a fun game to play. It’s a cool topic for an industrial metal song.
My favorite Metal as well! I gave a like before watching the video

Thanks, Mike! It's clearly one of my favorites too

Putting these drum sounds on my AKAI S2000 when I get home

the sound of that bass is amazing 👏 love it 🤘🤘🤘🤘 also this weekend i am going to see godflesh in NYC QUEENS cheers 🍻
Thanks, have fun! 🤘
Awesome! 👍
this is exactly what my late night drunk ass felt , I built this studio to have fun, its time to make noise.
Absolutely, do it!
Hell to the yes! Good shit!
Boy that snare hits as hard as it really should, you nailed that one!
Thanks! It's the same sample they used ;)
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
please make this into a full song
Great work! Where did you grab the free version of Amplitube? I can only find the demo which blasts you with white noise every few seconds!

Can i download this for reaper?

whts that metallic snare you used on the ending of the song?
It's just the snare and the "glass bell" sample from the HR-16 at the same time. sounds kinda like hitting a beer bottle with a drum stick
@@NickLeonard thank's a lot man! You're video helped me A LOT with my industrial metal project, already working on the fifth track 🤘
Mechanical and unrelenting grooves, as industrial should be. I think I have that exact drum machine buried in my closet somewhere lol, it was like an Alesis 16 or whatever.
If you do, you should break it out and use it!
@@NickLeonard sigh... I should

@@NickLeonard Sorry for the rudeness of my comment. You really did very well replicating the sound of Streetcleaner.
