    Can you talk about the impacts of COVID-19 on applications/ shadowing hours/ work/ volunteer experience and what you recommend?

      Anna Zahorchak same! This was my first semester being free and not taking any classes so I was hoping to get more shadowing hours and i haven’t :( I wanted to get more hours before the application opens

      Hi! So I actually got in touch with admission and received this
      “I tell people please not to worry about that. We will - and our faculty will - understand. This spring and summer are just going to be “not there” when it comes to experience. I mainly just hate that people are missing out on HAVING the experience and learning and getting excited/passionate about the field, you know? Hopefully not too many applicants will have waited and have NO experience because of these two semesters, but even so... if they did, then they did. Admissions reviewers will understand and allow for the way things have been. Does that make sense? “

    Hello! Thank you for the video, it is definitely helpful, what would you suggest as a study schedule for someone who is not able to study for entire days at a time (for example, someone who needs a summer job, etc.)?

    • @KhanhTon
      @KhanhTon  4 роки тому +1

      Depends on how many hours a week you work! Your study schedule should be based off of how much free time you have. I recommend you rest after every shift and then hit the books! It’ll be helpful if you go to a coffee shop or library (or wherever you study best) since your free hours are limited so you should be 100% focused at every session!

    Hi Khanh! For the first 4-5 weeks dedicated to getting the material down, would you recommend reviewing flashcards at night from just the material learned that day or do a whole comprehensive review of all the flashcards made so far? Thanks for the video btw!! it was super helpful and has me pumped and ready to study this summer :)

    • @KhanhTon
      @KhanhTon  4 роки тому +3

      Great question! I should have specified! I did the flashcard at night of the material learned that day a few times for reinforcement, then hammered comprehensively on the weekend :)

    • @KhanhTon
      @KhanhTon  4 роки тому +7

      On your interview day, they'll provide you with a list of potential scholarships! If you qualify for a scholarship from the optometry school, they'll include that in your acceptance letter. Most of the students who use financial aid get it via FAFSA! Every school has a financial advisor so don't worry about figuring it out for yourself!
