Great video! I'm a vendor at a Vintage Market Days in May and this reinforces what I've been buying. I love the red mirror - it's got happy Scandinavian vibes for me. 😁
omg Lone Fox just shared that mirror in his antiquing video! I love the dark wood that it probably was originally, but the red would totally sell.. great find!!
Definitely keep the mirror the color it is. For one reason, it would be a bear to refinish (all those curves!) and secondly, I think the red it is, would be a great pop of red for any room. Thanks so much for these instructive videos - I have learned so much!
I love the red mirror as is. Maroon shades might be on the trend ascend but this little red number is a statement piece that cannot be silenced with more muted shades !!
Andi ☀️ Red please let the Red Mirror 🪞 stay RED ♥️ Love your videos. Love your forecast for design in 2024! I do have a question please how long do trends usually stay in style for? Thank you for sharing your wonderful wisdom & tips 😊❤
Thank you so much for this design trends summary! Last year I bought what I later learned to be a birthing chair for very cheap and it works great as a plant stand - I feel so validated now. And i'm starting to think that a pop of dark/moody red might be what my living room needs...
I appreciate watching your videos BECAUSE of your concise yet detailed information. Love the hauls - something about it JUST PURE JOY. One reseller to another.
Another great video Andi... thank you. I have a couple of birthing chairs I picked up a while ago and they sell here in the UK for a few hundred pounds. People can't get enough of them at the moment. Yours for $7 was an amazing find. Also the red theory is going off here too. I picked up a small red lacquered victorian accent table as a shoot prop and it highlights things so well. Helps things pop!
Another trend Im loving is that smaller pieces of Art Deco furniture (like bedside cabinets) are becoming very popular here too. They have such interesting shapes.
Thank you! I'm always fascinated by what trends people are seeing outside the US. I feel like we align pretty closely on decor trends, but we are always behind on fashion. And great tip about small Art Deco furniture! It's amazing what things come back in style. Keeps things fun! ;)
Gen Z will love the orangey wood as they love the 70s. Having been young in the 70s, I'm not going back. Red could work for the mirror, I had a bright red one in the 70s.
Keep it red…. I have always been a pop of red person. I bought my house over 20 years ago… & I’ve always had at least one item in each room red… I am glad I am back in style lol…enjoyed your video… thanks for sharing ❤
Love this video, what comes in and goes out makes my head spin but it's important to keep up. I love that mirror and the current red on it. I can seen it on top of a tall boy dresser or in a bathroom.
andi BRAVO thank you! I would paint it Burgundy and yes sell it I love it 🥰, I saw the color drenching is back and I love it. Almost done with my office all goodwill furniture and thrifted items. I need a futon now lol 😂😂😂😂❤
I'm loving the helpful videos! If course I also love sourcing videos. My thought is to try the red mirror as is and see how it does. The paint looks pretty thick, so painting over it might not be a great option stripping it would take a long time. I've been having great luck with primitives. I'm going to list all of the large textile wall hangings I've been holding on to. Thanks Andi!
So, this may be a longer conversation (LOL) but for those of us that can’t completely redecorate every trend season… what are the best sort of transition pieces among these that can update your look without changing the whole thing? I’m liking the idea of adding an unexpected red piece. I gravitate more towards blues and greens but am not afraid of colour. We are moving into my husbands childhood home - very 70s, lots of wood - and I’m not loving it but now maybe I’ll look at it with a new eye.
Haha yes I have so much red, and I never really realized until everyone pointed it out in my last video! Apparently I am one of those people who went from pink to mauve to red. ;)
Thanks for the informative video. Is it just me or are home decor trends starting to change as fast as clothing trends? I blame social media of course lol. I say buy what you love and ignore trends.
They are absolutely changing so fast! And social media is definitely to blame. I get sick of things so much quicker now because of it. ugh! Agree it's always best to buy what you love. ;)
Yes, brass still does well so I will probably keep it up until I see a big dip. I will say it has been harder to move brass vases lately. So I'm not buying as many now.
My home was built in 1926, with the original woodwork and floors. Bought it in 2000, and ignored every style trend that mentioned changing it. Dad always said, never paint good wood. Paint was for soft pine and crap laminates. Super happy I stood my ground. Trends around wood and paint come and go; my home has survived nearly 100 years of ignoring trends. I go trendy on accessories or smalls. My house was designed to be a wood focused bungalow & so it shall stay. Call it orange all you want! To each their own taste
@@maureenfitzgerald1895 I love that you have kept the original elements of your house. That's what I am trying to do with ours. Embrace the styles and not change things on a whim.
I can't wait until the postmodern trend is over because I have loved it for decades and am not into it just because it's trendy. Hopefully I can start selling my chrome lamps and furniture that I've been into for 20 years for now. Videos like this give me a headache because I can't keep up with the trends, so don't even try.
No one was excited about 80's mauve.... that died quickly. Wallpaper is back in. And skirting might trickle in as half length skirting as a scalloped edge. It might be prints, or matelassé. There is mixing of french linen yet, natural colors that go with those warm woods if people are staying neutral with large seating pieces. I still see warm metals not fading quite that fast because people didn't go deep into changing the stainless cabinet hardware, but might do it now in response to the grey wood going away. I see mid-century hardware on dressers, stereo cabinets, inlaid brass tubes becoming very popular. Chrome might get some love but won't be full on just yet. Cosy is definitely in, but controlled cosy. Large focal art pieces are back to grab accent colors from, especially if there is no 'hero' fabric to grab the accent colors from.
I love the mid tone woods making a came back. Always love it and had it in my house. I would keep the mirror as is. Very Scandinavian looking.
Yes, very Sandi! I think the red will stay!
I absolutely love the red mirror as is. Especially in front of a burgandy/maroon color. It's so good together.
I totally agree! :)
Andy, thank you, this is so helpful. I am totally here for all this new content you are putting out!
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying it. I'm trying to make UA-cam a major focus this year.
Give me orange over gray!!!
Same!!!
Great video! I'm a vendor at a Vintage Market Days in May and this reinforces what I've been buying. I love the red mirror - it's got happy Scandinavian vibes for me. 😁
Glad to hear this is resonating with what you're seeing too! Thanks for watching!
omg Lone Fox just shared that mirror in his antiquing video! I love the dark wood that it probably was originally, but the red would totally sell.. great find!!
I know it's so crazy!! If it wasn't so much work, I'd be tempted to strip mine. :)
Definitely keep the mirror the color it is. For one reason, it would be a bear to refinish (all those curves!) and secondly, I think the red it is, would be a great pop of red for any room. Thanks so much for these instructive videos - I have learned so much!
Agree. Also, I once painted a little stool in that same shade of red, and it indeed added a perfect pop of color to the room.
Glad you enjoyed it! And I agree the red should stay!
Lived through the 70s - once was enough! Skirting is a night mare if you have pets - been there too. Love the red mirror.
You're so right! Skirts are fur magnets!
I love the red mirror as is. Maroon shades might be on the trend ascend but this little red number is a statement piece that cannot be silenced with more muted shades !!
Haha, agree it needs to stay red. It's so eye catching.
Thank you for all the updates and ideas you lend to your channel…
You are so welcome!

Loooove these videos from you! Helps me at my booth so much 💛
Thank you! I'm so glad!
Keep the mirror red!!! The design of the mirror stands out!!! And now with the pop of red on it.....Well it is sure to be a win win!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
I totally decided to keep it red - the color is just too good!
Wow, you and Lone Fox picked up the same mirror except his was black!
I know it's so crazy!!

Yes, I feel like if you grew up in the era, it's so hard to revist it. I feel that way about things I see from my childhood!
I haven’t bought into the cool wood trend…so happy to hear warm is back!
Love the new decor info! I resell and I’m sitting on a bunch of brass. I’d better get moving on selling that!
Yes, get those items listed! Brass is still doing well for me, but I will say certain Indian brass pieces have slowed down a bit.
Keep it red…. I have always been a pop of red person. I bought my house over 20 years ago… & I’ve always had at least one item in each room red… I am glad I am back in style lol…enjoyed your video… thanks for sharing ❤
The consensus is to keep it red, so I think I will! Thanks so much for watching! :)

Ohh yeah things go in and out so very quickly it's crazy sometimes! It was nice to see you at the market this weekend!
Keep the Chinese red it already is! I love it.♥️
Unrelated to the video, but i love your shirt! Ive been looking for red/orange/copper silk blouse. Hope the thrift god blesses me with one someday 😂

Yay! I'm so excited for your new office. It feels so good when you can outfit it with thrifted finds. :)
Add some cold, touches to the mirror either paint or rubbing buff or gilding wax I think would look great - shuttle touches
Love the mirror as is!

Yes, the paint is VERY thick on it so I agree, another color may be too much for the piece. Thanks so much for watching!!
I love the red mirror!
Yay! Thanks for watching!
So informative thank you Andi! ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Great tips, thanks!

Wood is very in and will be for a while. I have a 70s home and thankfully Pinterest was filled with modern takes on wood cladded rooms.
I just watched alone Fox’s video about 2024. I love brown and reds.
Andi - I think you know what you are talking about!
🥰🥰🥰
Don’t paint the mirror! Love the retro scandi look of it!
You're right, it totally does!
Please keep the mirror red. Agree every room benefits from a pop of red. I also just noticed how much red appears on your gallery wall.
Haha yes I have so much red, and I never really realized until everyone pointed it out in my last video! Apparently I am one of those people who went from pink to mauve to red. ;)
Keep it red! My favorite color...
It really does pop with the red. And the bonus is less work for me :)
Thanks for the informative video. Is it just me or are home decor trends starting to change as fast as clothing trends? I blame social media of course lol. I say buy what you love and ignore trends.
They are absolutely changing so fast! And social media is definitely to blame. I get sick of things so much quicker now because of it. ugh! Agree it's always best to buy what you love. ;)
Ive seen that exact same mirror in its original wood. It will look amazing if you strip the paint off.
If it wasn't going to be so much work I would totally do it! I wish I had time for projects. :)
@@AllPutTogether yes the shape of it doesn't make it easy! Honestly the current color is not too bad either.
Are you going to keep buying brass with the shift to cooler metals to resell in your Etsy shop?
Yes, brass still does well so I will probably keep it up until I see a big dip. I will say it has been harder to move brass vases lately. So I'm not buying as many now.
Keep it red!!!
Agree!
So, just curious if you're using any of these words in your keyword s? Like are you adding a "curvalinear" or "post modern" hashtag?
Yes, it the object fits within a certain design style then I usually will include that.
Metals don’t go out of style. Put more than one metal,in a room. It makes things more interesting.
Totally agree - I love mixing metals.
The red kind of looks Chinese red and would work great with people that collect Chinese furniture and antiques.
orange wood? not in my house. yuk!
Noooooooo. Not again.
Haha! See, I knew it would give people the ick! ;)
but I do love the primitive vibe coming around.

Midcentury bled into curvy. Think Vladimar Kagan, liver shaped tables, etc.
Keep mirror red. Don’t change it
Let the mirror be itself.
Agree! I have decided to leave it be. :)
At 1.25, there's an early 18th century, northern European carved wooden piece...Is 300 year old museum artifacts 2024's design trend?😅

Paneling! No Please, Just No :) Next will be shag carpet. Great video as always.
Haha! I know, it is definitely is hard to embrace certain design elements again!
red is not the color for that mirror

Thank you so much for all you insight! It's so fun to learn what other people are seeing in design. :)
Wrong.
I encourage you to use the term wabi sabi/ethnic instead of primitive, especially if you describe items that are tribal in origin
My opinion is it doesn’t matter what it is to be primitive as long as it is old rustic pieces. 🗝️🏚️
