Was that you have to focus on what you did wrong and what you could've done better, instead of blaming others, that's the only way you can gain valued experience. Because otherwise you'll just repeat the same mistakes.

has nothing to do with what you’re doing and everything to do with preconceived ideas they have about Mercy and the people that play her. Whether you actually are getting value or not doesn’t matter.
@razrv3lc yeah I was playing Mercy the other day with a kiriko and I healed way more than anybody in the lobby and tried mostly encouraging dps but apparently the tank felt like it was my fault that the whole team had only 2 kills. The Kiriko didn't do that great on heals honestly but it was blamed on me and he called me boosted for only playing moira and mercy when HE was the one in a duo. I solo qued my way up there so I don't like being told I'm boosted lmao. I was also called a brain dead mercy by another tank when I had 15k healing and the enemy supports only had to heal 6k to win so it was really a team diff I could do nothing about. I think we need to not take what others say to us seriously and laugh about it but I usually argue with them and ask them for a reason they say what they say because they usually aren't doing anything good to be talking.
@@dankdilly Healing should not be a main focus. You could out heal your other support or the enemy team but using utilities is way more useful and important. Just because you have so much healing it doesn’t mean crap lol.

whenever someone talks bad when i say something that isn't even mean for example i saw or kiri using suzu on ashe dynamite when i can just heal her and heal each other. they had a junker queen and ana, everyone would die because there would be no suzu for the anti's so i said " kiri can you save suzu for anti's because everyone dies from it" And then the tank which apparently is her bf said "Stfu why are you shitting on everyone" so i said "ok" so i stopped healing both their asses and we lost but idc because i can just win next game and not deal with their toxic asses lmao and its satisfying to not let these people win as well.

That Winston seemed to not pay attention to his team. He jumps into the enemies 1 v3 or worse. Starting with half health, then complains about dying when he had a mercy and zen for support. Your not going to get amazing heals from those support as you dive in, not without putting the Mercy at high risk. Lot of players get too used to a Kirko or Anna being able to pump them with heals and expect it from all supports.
to be fair, monkey with zen mercy is just not an optimal comp against what the enemy team was playing. he wasn’t necessarily doing anything wrong, most of it was just textbook winston dive, but he was having a hard time with the lack of burst sustain. it was a bad comp to play mercy into, and this is coming from a mercy main. you can make it work (as we saw), but if your dps aren’t picks that justify a mercy, just prepare to be the first scapegoat. happens. his plays weren’t bad, he was making do with what he had support wise. his attitude was dogshit though. average masters/gm EU rager.

I wanted to start learning Mercy as a 2nd main Support, but learnt it is so hard, bc u need to look at everything and be at the right spot at every moment…. Last time I tried comp, which was in OW1, my highest was high silver at Support. This is super helpful! Thank you for these tips! In the new year, with the overhaul, I might give comp another try!

In a competitive round, I had a bad Ram who literally stood at the spawn door and kept dying saying I sucked as Mercy. Yet I died trying to heal him 🤷🏽♀️
It just looks like we're playing entirely different games. I've struggled playing Mercy because I feel I can't get her movement just right. Maybe it's because I'm doing it wrong? I'm not sure. I try to GA + shift, space to float, but sometimes it doesn't look great. Yours is very fluid, it's a pleasant to watch!
u need to know when to super jump tech in the air. u can’t just keep constantly doing it, it’s gonna get you killed more often esp if the enemy has hitscan heroes. maybe in season 2 you could’ve gotten away with it because the GA cooldown was shorter and made mercy’s movement stronger. but with the GA nerfs, you really should be playing out of sight/behind cover and not constantly floating in the air. u can see that zhau doesn’t always do that, and also uses other movement techs. learn those and ur movement will improve. i would say that constantly being in the air is only good when the enemy doesn’t have hitscan. for example, pharah, junkrat, etc. they can’t really punish you for staying in the air/being out of position
that used to be me, but i watched skiesti's guides and it helped a lot. i watched a lot of gm mercys, and i started implementing their techniques. for example, the superjump rez, when i was new i messed it up and went out of range... but now i can do it more reliably. i still make mistakes, im still silver (used to be gold til i had a lose streak. tho today i won 4 comp games in a row!!! i havent done that since season 3.) rambling aside, i know u can improve! i feel like my movement is improving each time i play... i occasionally record myself play mercy, and i can see a drastic improvement within months. and gl on climbing :)
Supports always being expected to be these omnipotent all-seeing oracles that can make up for every bad decision every other player on the team makes... Always so demoralising and off putting... My friend recently that I play with has started taking to blaming me for every time he dies even though he's the one that's in bad positions and I choose not to follow him. It always just feels awful...

Playing in master elo, always getting hate especially from second supports that consider mercy as "out-of-the-box" character. Like hello my survavibility saved your ass so many times and I carried everyone through the game. I once played with a Doomfist that had the perfect gauge for when to return for heals. It was one of the best games I ever played and had full trust in my tank. As a Mercy main, dive tanks make me nervous.
There is a thing i've noticed since overwatch doesnt show if people are in group - often, people who are duoing gang on one specific healer from the start. It starts with "jokes" but gradually it becames a real time bullying, and they make it look like "two strangers agree you suck so you must in fact suck". Sometimes it's purpose is getting pocket, bc you want to "show them you ARE good" or you think if you pocket them they gonna stop. I'm not saying it's always the case, people are shit without any hidden reason, but there's a pattern for sure ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Happened to me yesterday, rein kept w keying behind walls while we kept getting flanked. Got to the point dva was able to flank on front of the whole time and he did nothing.

just a tip ignore if you want ofc! try using the ping system more! as mercy you have lots of time to be looking around so start checking behind and around more and use your pings when you see a flanker :)
Idk why it’s always the Mercy’s fault. Like why wasn’t it Zen’s fault? He could have swapped too? It just makes no sense how blame isn’t just put on supports but it’s focused on Mercy specifically. I will say Lifeweaver does get the same treatment though. Even if I play perfect it’s always my fault.
People get on comms to talk to me and attempt to put me down…I play mercy and was told I’m a main healer I need to heal more stop boosting my dps and I told him no and the rest of the team told him to shut up he is wrong so sometimes when 1 bad egg is on your team you get the backing of the rest 😊
at least the widow in the first match was a good sport. Funny that the winston called them out for being 7-8, i guess even high tier players don't recognize that widow mirror matches are more about pressuring each other than even getting kills.

I always watch these as a mercy main and the one thing that I’ve realized is that I’m not the problem, my teammates are because they can’t aim, or they can’t position themselves and take damage, or they think their pub dva can translate to ranked and get a 1-7 1.2k dmg (yes it happened) in ranked (send help)

I’m trying to go from unranked to GM on another account just for fun. I got placed diamond. Literally my first game I didn’t rez our torb and he asked if I was autistic.

The thing about action combat games with literal health packs is that all damage is avoidable and literally all teammates can manage their own survivability if they play well. Literally anyone complaining at healers is salty because they stood in the fire (applicable!) and then got mad nobody healed them through it.
those tanks suck. clear tank diff and they complain about heals. if they had better positioning and game sense they wouldn't need to waste so many heals that the other members of the team need. and you can't complain. there is a back line.

Ignoring bad comments is honestly the best, they get bored and might stop. Otherwise your team mates basically throw the match imo because they spend it typing up rants over actually playing.

In a competitive round, I had a bad Ram who literally stood at the spawn door and kept dying saying I sucked as Mercy. Yet I died trying to heal him 🤷🏽♀️

It just looks like we're playing entirely different games. I've struggled playing Mercy because I feel I can't get her movement just right. Maybe it's because I'm doing it wrong? I'm not sure. I try to GA + shift, space to float, but sometimes it doesn't look great. Yours is very fluid, it's a pleasant to watch!
u need to know when to super jump tech in the air. u can’t just keep constantly doing it, it’s gonna get you killed more often esp if the enemy has hitscan heroes. maybe in season 2 you could’ve gotten away with it because the GA cooldown was shorter and made mercy’s movement stronger. but with the GA nerfs, you really should be playing out of sight/behind cover and not constantly floating in the air. u can see that zhau doesn’t always do that, and also uses other movement techs. learn those and ur movement will improve. i would say that constantly being in the air is only good when the enemy doesn’t have hitscan. for example, pharah, junkrat, etc. they can’t really punish you for staying in the air/being out of position
that used to be me, but i watched skiesti's guides and it helped a lot. i watched a lot of gm mercys, and i started implementing their techniques. for example, the superjump rez, when i was new i messed it up and went out of range... but now i can do it more reliably. i still make mistakes, im still silver (used to be gold til i had a lose streak. tho today i won 4 comp games in a row!!! i havent done that since season 3.)
rambling aside, i know u can improve! i feel like my movement is improving each time i play... i occasionally record myself play mercy, and i can see a drastic improvement within months. and gl on climbing :)
Supports always being expected to be these omnipotent all-seeing oracles that can make up for every bad decision every other player on the team makes... Always so demoralising and off putting... My friend recently that I play with has started taking to blaming me for every time he dies even though he's the one that's in bad positions and I choose not to follow him. It always just feels awful...

@@c.u.c.6202 i try to coordinate the team, kinda hard to do in silver-gold where there's almost no comms (i dont use comms either. idk why i just get anxious when i have to show my voice lmao)
but i do use text, and the comm wheel by saying 'fall back/regroup', sometimes it actually does work and the team meets back at spawn..other times? they just stagger over and over

Playing in master elo, always getting hate especially from second supports that consider mercy as "out-of-the-box" character. Like hello my survavibility saved your ass so many times and I carried everyone through the game. Just yesterday met ana telling me to shutup bc I played mercy and had no right to say anything in her opinion when I simply asked to help with enemy genji. So yeah it happens in each rank, just toxic ego players. Wish the community was better T_T
I once played with a Doomfist that had the perfect gauge for when to return for heals. It was one of the best games I ever played and had full trust in my tank. As a Mercy main, dive tanks make me nervous.
There is a thing i've noticed since overwatch doesnt show if people are in group - often, people who are duoing gang on one specific healer from the start. It starts with "jokes" but gradually it becames a real time bullying, and they make it look like "two strangers agree you suck so you must in fact suck". Sometimes it's purpose is getting pocket, bc you want to "show them you ARE good" or you think if you pocket them they gonna stop. I'm not saying it's always the case, people are shit without any hidden reason, but there's a pattern for sure ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Idk why it’s always the Mercy’s fault. Like why wasn’t it Zen’s fault? He could have swapped too? It just makes no sense how blame isn’t just put on supports but it’s focused on Mercy specifically. I will say Lifeweaver does get the same treatment though. Even if I play perfect it’s always my fault.

People get on comms to talk to me and attempt to put me down…I play mercy and was told I’m a main healer I need to heal more stop boosting my dps and I told him no and the rest of the team told him to shut up he is wrong so sometimes when 1 bad egg is on your team you get the backing of the rest 😊
at least the widow in the first match was a good sport. Funny that the winston called them out for being 7-8, i guess even high tier players don't recognize that widow mirror matches are more about pressuring each other than even getting kills.

I always watch these as a mercy main and the one thing that I’ve realized is that I’m not the problem, my teammates are because they can’t aim, or they can’t position themselves and take damage, or they think their pub dva can translate to ranked and get a 1-7 1.2k dmg (yes it happened) in ranked (send help)
Amazing how a bad comment can color a game in a negative light. You guys actually stomped them in that first match. Captured the point very fast, and they didn’t even cap it when they switched to offense.

People who flame are so annoying because they actually think it works to talk trash and scream at others but most of the time it just doesn't work at all and makes themselves and the one they flame play worse. 😓
The thing about action combat games with literal health packs is that all damage is avoidable and literally all teammates can manage their own survivability if they play well. Literally anyone complaining at healers is salty because they stood in the fire (applicable!) and then got mad nobody healed them through it.
