New details released in killing of 'General Hospital' actor John Wactor

- Police released new details Tuesday in the slaying of "General Hospital" actor John Wactor over the weekend.
Based on witness statements, investigators believe Wactor had ended his shift early Saturday as a bartender at a local bar in the 1200 block of Hope Street and walked to his vehicle where he was confronted by three suspects who had raised it with a floor jack," the Los Angeles Police Department stated in a news release Tuesday.
The suspects were in the process of stealing Wactor's catalytic converter when "without provocation, the victim was shot by one of the individuals," police said.

I'm guessing these guys had a past with prison and felonies probably didn't want to go back and eliminated the witness so they couldn't testify or give a description as in no face no case situation but the odd thing is they didn't shoot the woman he was with.

Stealing catalytic converters are not even considered a chargeable offense in Los Angeles, regardless of arrests no one is ever charged with a felony regardless of how many dozens of catalytic converters are found on you or how many times you’ve been arrested for that offense. Which is why it is all the more tragic that the violent serial criminals wasted a bullet on something they wouldn’t have been punished for if caught.
Of course it's a crime. They just charged a crew that were stealing $600M in catalytic converters in CA that they plead guilty. Even the DA in LA charged a Burbank crew with multiple felonies for theft. The reason this guy was shot probably was because they didn't want to get caught because it is prosecuted. Well, now these crooks have a murder charge waiting. Hopefully the LAPD can find these guys. . .

I watch a lot of TV and have a photographic memory. Just being out and about in LA usually a few times a month I recognize bartenders,ride share drivers, food deliverers, and waitresses from small acting roles on current TV shows
He was a current actor. He, like many lesser known actors work in bars/restaurants between acting gigs so they can continue to pay rent and because those types of jobs keep their days free for them to do auditions.

Another report said he thought they were getting ready to tow his car and yelled out at them asking if they were towing it, one of them pointed a gun towards them and he shielded his friend
Another report said him and his coworker were walking towards the parking lot, and he thought his car was being towed. When he called out to them one of them, with a mask on, pulled a gun and then the victim stepped in front of the other employee to protect her.
