A questioner asks Sadhguru how to distinguish between the thoughts that are coming from one’s heart and the thoughts that are coming from one’s brain or one’s mind.
Sadhguru very nicely says that if you listen carefully to the heart it only makes two sound …. “ love dhub” “ love dhub” .
But seriously thinking from a heart sounds more metaphoric than real, as people are taking it literally. There was a time a long time ago that in some parts of the world people thought that the liver pumps the blood to the body, anyway we know that it is the heart that pumps the blood through the body and we should not give any more responsibility to the heart other than pumping the blood in the body.
Now coming back to the thoughts of mind or heart or brain or heart. Let’s understand the concept of engineering first. So, basically, we have engineered various things in our life like TV, Mobile, smartwatches, car, houses, buildings, bridges, video games, medical systems and the list goes on. The reason we have engineered these countless things is because they should function the way we want and give us comfort and peace the way we want. There are also beautiful pieces of engineering if we look out in the nature as well, for example a tree is a phenomenal piece of engineering, a mountain is really an extraordinary piece of engineering growing thousands of meters tall and then stood there for millions of years is such a spectacular feat of engineering by nature isn’t it? Now if you look at the most sophisticated piece of engineering that has ever existed is the human body and mind isn’t it?
So, now the question arises that this body and mind given to us by nature, is the most phenomenal piece of engineering, however, if you ask anyone as to have the read the user’s manual for this body and mind, and you will be surprised that most people have no idea. Now, how can it be possible that such a fantastic piece of engineering ( body and mind ) can come without a user’s manual? Off course no one is born with this user’s manual tied around their neck, but if you look at it that there are athletes like swimmers, sprinters, cyclists who have mastered or read a little bit about the physical aspects of this user’s manual and that is why what they can do with their body is not really possible by most of the human beings, and the similar thing goes for people like scientists, mathematicians, physicists etc where the feats they have done through their mind is something many people have no idea as to how they did it.
