- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Two Kenyans arrested and detained by Authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo were lawfully carrying out commercial activities in the East African Nation. Diplomatic attempts to have the Two un-identified persons accused by the DRC Military of allegedly missing custom documentation on valuable cargo that was to be transported on a Kenya Airways Flight on April 12th 2024, have been futile.

Many have some sort of insurance or agreement such that if the cargo does not arrive , or is damaged , then some sort of compesation is provided to the client

I was detained at a DRC border for entering their immigration office to ask information about Congo visa. Apparently I had entered Congo without visa which I was actually trying to apply for at the same office. Later I was released after being heavily interrogated by DRC security services. I will never try to enter DRC again. It's always a shame for an african to be detained on their continent like that. Are we supposed to go to other continents then

i think this is retaliatory action by the DRC with KQ as a cover story to force the acknowledgment of an interest issue probably ignored by GoK and to force GoK to the negotiating table. But anyway except for the involved parties , who knows.
