I love the idea that they're different. They make different music. It's not just trap artist or rap artist or trippy music. That doesn't stop them from coming together. I think that's one of the great things about this. We mingle. We have our own styles. But to be able to accomplish togetherness with our differences is a triumph to me.
please stay in chicago...cuz the violence here, come's from outsiders...cuz the born and raised ATL is not doing that shit here.....too busy tryna get recognize for talent
steven, you look like an intelligent man. What I am saying is....get the hell out of chicago and expand your talents, opportunities, or gifts....because I would hate for you to be subject to some unexpected ignorance, that you just happen to be walking by and witness.
im not going to lie, but when i heard key! sing that outside song i LOL real hard but now i cant get that song out my head. did they ever released that song?
Atlanta has always been a very eccentric city full of weirdos, transplants, dope boys and gays so you are going to hear new type of music coming from Atlanta period whether you like it or not. Atlanta always does it's own thing and then the world gravitates towards it.Atlanta's overall urban music scene has been thriving since LaFace Record and So So Def. Today, you have artists like Young Scooter, Quan, Thugger, Que, Bankroll Fresh and then you have guys like these cats. In terms of Atlanta there hasn't been a rapper or MC that was really nice since TI or Young Dro both of whom could lyrically keep their roots to the Atlanta culture but could go bar for bar with the nation's top rappers from NYC, LA CHI or anywhere. And there hasn't really been a classic rap album that shook up the city since Young Jeezy's classic debut Thug Motivation. Right now nobody in Atlanta is really saying anything, it's just catch phrases, hot beats and brilliant hooks being spit by guys who either glorifiy the trap or use too much of them or both! Thes guys do TOO much drugs and realy it's like promoting that being a junkie is cool. Lean, Activis, molly and xanax that shit will kill you but it's the base of Atlanta's music right now! Atlanta has gotten too gothic. Slick Pulla is an artist ya'll should check for if you want to hear somebody form the A that has bars unfortunately CTE/ Young Jeezy hasn't marketed him right and I think Takeoff from the Migos lyrically on the mainstream is cool since he's only like 18 or 19 he got bars and wordplay. But other than that most of this music coming out of Atlanta really is trash and the natives know it. The thing is the bats are so trance and catchy and nothing else is out there people are forced to like alot of this music because their is no alternative. Their is no Outkast or Goodie Mob or Ludacris. It's just going to get more dumber and dumber. OG Maco's song is arguably the worse rap song I've ever heard. He's literally screaming over a beat. And they play that song ALL DAMN DAY! So after a while if you are at Dugans on Ponce or the U Bar and you are drunk or high and the bass hits you are going like it! lol And this coming form somebody who grew up in the HEART of the city the REAL Atlanta right off Boulevard zipcode, Grady High,4th Ward, Zone 5! And V103 is the WORST station!
I'm from Atlanta and agree with a good chunk of things you said but some I gotta disagree with. And OG Maco prolly was the best new artist to come outta Atlanta in a long ass time but once Future dropped DS2 which was hard af the trap wave fully took over and came full circle and hindered others that wasn't with the trap eave
