When fragile gave Higgs a choice to die or live in “purgatory” on the beach she said she didn’t kill him. That was a clue there was to be a sequel.
I think Amelie has died and higgs came back posing as her. I think Amelie dying resets what she’s done. I think that’s why fragile is normal and Sam is aged now. His age catching up to him. I’m so excited
Yet we see him with normal hair in the other trailer. So that makes me wonder, has Sam just been dying his hair the whole time.
Although the Death Stranding is supposed to have ended, at 8:23 you can see an inverted rainbow with no blue in it, so the Death Stranding is going on our world again.
YIPPEEEE oh my god i love this analysis so much & am also currently losing my fucking mind over the longer trailer (higgs has me in a chokehold again 😩)
I absolutely adore Higgs as a villain! 😅 From his over the top delusions of grandeur, to his costuming, to the way he moves, all of it! I love how in the newest trailer, he talks about guns & violence helping to rule the world, and then does a slight little dance, and says "same as it ever was!" lol Dude is a character for real... and I can't get enough. I'm so happy he's back again, looking all "Crow" inspired too! I have a feeling he may end up becoming an anti-hero of some kind, but.... we'll see how Kojima wants to spin it. That could just be my wishful thinking, because I want him to stick around so bad.
And PS: I don't believe for one second that he was behind the attack on Fragile & Lou. He might have a bone to pick w/her... but he wouldn't have gone after a baby. Lou was just a random BB unit as far as he knew. He had no reason to do such a thing. Somebody else seems behind it IMHO. Can't wait to find out!
@KabbalahSherry oh 100% agree!!! Troy Baker brings such an amazing charisma to him that I cannot get enough of!! The lilts in his voice when he's emphasizing things, the playfulness of it all, gahh it's so good! I feel like he was a bit underutilized in the first game so I'm hoping he really gets a better chance in the spotlight this go-round. I'm with you on the anti-hero thing as well! I've heard that being thrown around as a possibility & apparently someone mentioned that to Kojima & he gave a very telling look??? So I also hope that's where that's gonna go 🤞🤞
As for Fragile & Lou's attacker, I had initially thought it was him, but the color pallettes are completely different! The attacker resembles the old Higgs a bit with the hood, but that's not what he looks like anymore. I've heard a few people speculate that it could be Bridges trying to cover up the whole 'Lou escaping the pod' situation, so I think that would be an interesting turn 👀

Me too, comrade. More than anything else...
Unable to grasp what all your other theories are, but here are some of mine:
Obvious spoilery train of thought below. Equally obvious, could be completely wrong.
* Cliff is the original repatriate, which Sam inherited from him, which Louise inherited from Sam. By blood. Which is what makes Sams blood have unique properties. In the end, Bridges calls BB/Sam "one of a kind", not just special. Cliff is obsessed with doll tech, has memories of three wars, "couldn't get myself killed anymore", always able to bring the squad back, has a C-section, and the actual "feedback loop" is taking place on the battlefields between Sam and Cliff being close (chimes and bells etc).
* Being around Bridget while Sam was away, Lucy and unborn Louise got DOOMS by proximity. Lucy caused the voidout, but Louise also being a repatriate kept coming back until found by Bridges researchers and very secretly put into the BB program. Since she turned out to having DOOMS, she was kept an extreme secret, why she never functioned properly, and have had "many users" before Igor. This to me contradicts their supposedly short life span.
* The obvious implication is shown in the end reveals; Cliff ends Lisa/Stillmother and BB/Sam dies, causing Sam to snap out of his flashback. Next flashback is Sam/BB in the Seam, having to find his body to repatriate before the sequence continues. Sam was ALREADY a repatriate before Amelie (thinks she) made him one toward the end of the sequence. There are reminders just prior to the last delivery; Lou dies heading back east because there is no stillmother around.
* If you jump off a cliff in the very beginning, you repatriate using a "bad/aged doll" then pulling out. When you repatriate in the end after the doll tech is installed, it's from a "good/new doll". The rest of the game it's showing BB and going in. I'm not sure how it plays out after Mountain Knot when you separate from Lou. So to me, BB-28 = Lou = Louise = Sam's flesh and blood daughter, a repatriate with very high levels of DOOMS. We never got an explanation for the birthday/constellation thing before the game even started, I'm sure that has to do with Louises DOOMS levels.
* In the cave, Sam can only sense BTs (but the "extinction factor" eludes me). When near BB-28 in the beginning, he can already start to barely see them. By the time Sam looses Lou, he can fully see them, even if Odradek don't function. Did Lou elevate Sams DOOMS abilities over time by proxy? To me this suggest Lou is able to project (just like Bridget/Amelie) DOOMS abilities onto others or other nearby objects even (shown more in DS2 trailers imo). Higgs DOOMS progression and powers are explained in his lore.
* Also in the cave, both Fragile and Sam is breathing smoke (around BTs). On the Magellan (in the Seam?), only Sam is breathing smoke. Is there something more to Fragile's story, she's got more of them secrets? After all, she's wearing a mask ("I brought you a metaphor").
* Why was there a need to say the word "brother" in the latest DS2 trailer? That just freaked me out. Then again, reason Death Stranding is Kafkaeque is that it is open to interpretation, we just don't know what can be taken at face value and what are to be considered red herrings. But "brother" at face value? Oh boy... From the DS2 trailers, we know that Higgs too know BBs theme. That had implications during the end of the Vietnam scene. So yeah, I'm sticking with "at face value", at least for now, it does add up.

At 1:40 you can see that there is this delivery truck as a toy version in the background. Also there is a toy crab on the floor and carved jn the big box. Very odd considering the rest three holoes are basic shapes.
18:50 louises silhouette has wings that flatter. The same tiny wings as in the begining of the trailer

And if you look at left side of the frame that bottle looks like someone wearing tux sounds crazy but if you would want to give these people signs and hints this is the way to go.

The best thing for ds2 would be that the red cyborg is played by Keanu Reeves. It is possible. A few years ago, Keanu Reeves visited Kojima productions. And some time ago, Kojima posted photos of Keanu with Norman.
Cooperation? or... Imagine coming face to face with the antagonist played by Keanu.
Has this guy ever played a bad character? this sounds like something only Kojima could do.

By "Genocidal Conquistador" you mean like anyone from that time period when rights of conquest determined land rights? Why do we try to overlay today's values on the past? If exploration had happened in the other direction, it would have been the same thing with a different name. People didn't used to go across the unknown globe for peace, they did it for riches and glory.
Your knowledge of history from that period appears to be quite narrow. Not to surprise you or anything but the present day is actually a direct result of the past, so it's somewhat useful generally speaking to consider the present-day consequences of past events. The same thing with a different name is still the same thing, I'm sure you know, so whatever words *are* used to describe it--they don't *have* to be, specifically, "genocidal conquistador"--the physical events themselves and the results of those events will remain unchanged.
Don't make excuses for what those f*cking colonizers did. They didn't have to rape, pillage, abuse, torture & enslave everywhere they went for "exploration" BUT THEY DID. So let's not try to whitewash that sh*t now. We know better ffs.
