Another good and informative video. Thanks for the ongoing effort to help Kubota owners get the most out of their equipment.

You could have also grabbed an old rubber fuel hose to show that the manual wants them replaced too. Mine are just over 6 years old & they feel like I could rub them apart with my fingers.

And don't forget, KTAC gets finicky about aftermarket filters and fluids. Neil's covered cheap filters many times.

Get the water separator kit for the RTV, uses B series style filters with a bowl and will self bleed if you route the bleed line back to the tank vent.

Just wanted to let you know your videos, and hard work, are appreciated and valued. Your vids impacted my final decision, and financing perspective, in procuring my b2301. No surprises during this process and only confidence for this knub going forward. Thanks Man!

I was plagued by clogged fuel filters for years. Figured out it was the convenient station around the corner I was getting it from. I go out if my way now.

Service window is 100hr and highly likely "or 1 year". This is why they add a year limit! I know it is a total waste to spend $10 on filter when you can save it and spend $2K on repairs!

Had the exact same thing happen on an RTV-X900, took out the injection pump which I had rebuilt, and the lift pump which I replaced with a $15 electric unit from Amazon. Expensive lesson!

A Parker Racor filter is the answer. I switched out all my kubota machines to them and no problems since

    Great video, Neill!
Hats off to you guys for having a filtration system on your bulk storage.
That is a very rare thing around here.

One thing I was told many years ago is to avoid purchasing fuel from a service station if there is a fuel tanker filling the service station up…….the theory being that the incoming fuel going into the service station bulk tank is churning up and unsettling any sediment that has accumulated over the years in these tanks, which has the possibility of going straight into the fuel you’re about to purchase.

My uncle owned a Shell station back in the day and told me the same thing. I'm not sure that holds true today as it did back than as there are filters on the pumps nowadays. If you've ever pumped gas and noticed the pump is super slow, that is usually the reason I was told by the attendant. But I still avoid hitting a gas station that is being supplied anyways.

Yes I was a Diesel mechanic at a fleet for years. If the company bought a brand new piece of equipment.. No matter what it was.. The company would work in the price for filter reminders.. I realize this is an option for many different kind of Filters.. We would have them put the filter minders in the operating cab. I believe they worked well and save many thousands of dollars in Repairs... Hopefully This could be an option for your equipment also.

My MX5200 is 3 years old now. I don’t live on my farm and due to work changes I have not been there for a year. When I leave the farm I fill the fuel tank up on all my machines to the brim. Will this reduce the likelihood of Alge or moisture building up in the fuel tanks?
Sometimes the power reduces dramatically on the MX5200, especially when driving on sideways on a slope with the right side down hill. I’ve asked about this on a FB group. The response is moisture in a safety sensor under the seat could cause this. Admittedly the weather has been very wet on my farm since I bought it and I once used it in the pouring rain. Could moisture in a sensor cause this issue?
I am looking forward to retiring from the world of work so I can spend more time on my farm.

Yes, keeping the tank full helps reduce the amount of moisture that collects inside it.
Is your butt coming off the seat on a hillside? happens to me.

OK This is hard to accept at face value. I am a mechanic of 40+ years. This vehicle would have to be run a long time with low fuel pressure to do this kind of damage, the operator must be a complete tird to not notice how the machine had HARD STARTING, LOW POWER, ROUGH RUNNING, HEATING UP MORE THAN NORMAL, NOT ABLE TO REACH MAX RPM this would have to go on for quite a while, I would fire him.

That’s why we call it preventative maintenance. A little filter like should be changed every 100 hr -250 hr.

50 TO 100 HOURS IS BETTER THEN 400 HOURS OF CHANGING THE FUEL FILTER.

  • @newnewmee44

you can look at this from a different point of view. The thousands of dollars worth of engine caused 10$ worth of damage to that 10$ filter. Protect your fuel filters, change your engines more often.
