Smart tactic that’s been used for years. Just rigging grenade traps has been happening since WW1 or before. Last to use it was Taliban before these incidents. I think a lot of it is malicious, especially using something specifically for a child to get an interest in and play with; that’s the brutal reality of all those fire and forgive traps. There is. They're called mine clearing vehicles and they are very effective. Before plowing the land, just drive across it a couple of times with afformentioned vehicle. Done. Safe to cultivate. But Ukraine doesn't do that because it's much easier and cheaper to just blame those deaths on Russia instead.

In Germany, we receive the information that the Ukrainian army is actively mining agriculturual fields, because they are threatend by a further push of the front line into Ukrainian territory by the Russians. Some Ukrainian farmer have put armour from tanks on their tractor and remotely operates the tracktor...so there is no danger to human life and so far tractor always could be repaired from the damage of the mines. This way, large fields can be demined.

As a result buildings need to be marked unsafe and the population needs to stay out until EOD has time to completely clear them building by building but the outside spaces like public parks or anywhere the public regularly uses and the farming land needs to be cleared first

So in the video, the farmer suffered from a mine laid by the Ukrainian military. I have seen many videos of how the Ukrainian military leaves mines randomly. What is it worth when the Ukrainian soldiers scattered "Petals" around Donetsk and Lugansk, and where there are civilians. Just the other day, one civilian was torn off his foot from such a mine left by Ukrainian soldiers when he was mowing grass. As for toys, I also saw a video from the military of the Russian Federation, who warned about such surprises from the Ukrainians. This is a war, and unfortunately this will happen. What they need to do is get the special forces units to capture the demining tanks with big rollers on the front intact instead of blowing them up with all the other enemy armor they encounter. There’s one farmer who took one of the rollers off a destroyed tank and installed it on a tractor they drive with a remote control and welded a bunch of steel plate to armor the tractor and it works but still needs to be repaired every time it detonates a mine. Those tanks with the mine rollers are designed to survive repeated mines

As a result buildings need to be marked unsafe and the population needs to stay out until EOD has time to completely clear them building by building but the outside spaces like public parks or anywhere the public regularly uses and the farming land needs to be cleared first
