When you talking about 2 weapon fighting you said they must be finesse weapons but actually they must be light weapons. Finesse just lets you choose between STR and DEX for the attack mod. Daggers are both light and finesse however.
I had meant to say light weapons, just an slip of the tongue. Light Finesse weapons are the best option for a two weapon fighting Rogue. Shame I did not remember to point it out in the live stream.
I've just started a campaign as a human rogue (my very first DnD experience). Would you suggest using a rapier and open hand or duel wield weapons! Thanks alot for your video, it helped alot. My DM just ran me thru a quick combat scenario on our session zero, and I got my first (and second) kill and it was exhilarating, a couple of Bullywugs felt the wrath of my rapier.
The rogue doesn't actually have to have an ally within 5 feet of the target to get a sneak attack. The target just needs to have an enemy within 5 feet of it.
@@HowtoRPG I did. The rogue doesn't need advantage if the target has an enemy within 5 feet of it and the enemy isn't incapacitated etc. So if I came across a battle between hobgoblins and orcs, I could sneak attack, even though I'm not allied with either side.
@@HowtoRPG not OP, but the text literally says "you know how to strike subtly and exploit a foe’s distraction" and "You don’t need advantage on the attack roll if another enemy of the target is within 5 feet of it" For a rogue to use sneak attack without having advantage, the target he's hitting must be distracted with an enemy, and that enemy is not necessarily an ally of the rogue, it just needs to be an "enemy of the target within 5 feet of it".
@@mitsuakiyama8934 that’s not how it works. Even if you are proficient you can still only wield one rapier unless as mentioned you took the feat for duel wielding. You can however, dual wield short swords without any feats, because they are light weapons
looked at the d&d official site but couldn´t find anything, very confusing site... don´t like it... so used a search engine instead and found it at once on pdf archive.
@@HowtoRPG 10:18 "how many Hit points does a skeleton have: 13" then 12:23 "17 is greater than Skeleton AC of 13". It's very confusing. Maybe it will be clearer if you split all infos from a sheet on your board (armor class, attack bonuses from weapon, etc.)
@@BleepingRelics The information is correct, you had me worried. I will not be covering as much in a live stream video in the future. That should reduce confusion.

the new slime race is going to be fun with rogue, fit through almost anything
Yes it will.

You are welcome. There are benefits to both.
@@HowtoRPG I guess there's no right or wrong way to play, which is one of the best things about DnD.

That is not true. Check the sneak attack entry.

Warforged Rogue, let's go!
But you cant use a rapier with a short sword rapier isn't light weapon
The rogue is proficient in it so yes you can
Only with the dual wielding feat

Skeleton has hp and ac of 13, doesn’t it?
Wait.... if the cleric is an ally why did he attack the rogue?
The cleric healed the rogue's hitpoints from 3 to 9. So instead of using his action to attack the skeleton, he chose to heal the rogue.
can you do one for high elf
Do you mean the features of the High Elf race? Or a High Elf Rogue?
High elf rogue
@@fuzzyfish7034 I don't have the guts to do live stream combat tutorials again, with that level of complexity. I will think of something else.
Do one for a dragonborn barnarian
How about a Dragonborn video?
Sure
Or barbarian?
I had a buddy run this.....we only got to level 8 and he was such a beast...
