About Dead End Hip Hop:
No scripts. It's pure unfiltered hip hop conversations and album reviews. No politics. No BS. We Are The People.
Thank God a studio is back. Those video chat videos were tough watches at times 😭😭😭
If they talked over each other u couldn’t hear shit🤣🤣
We been heavily doing video chat for the last four years but theirs was borderline unwatchable for me. It totally took me out of whatever the discussion was.
Alfredo - Freddie Gibbs, 2020, not being on there is crazy!!
And sa-roc daughter sharecroppers and as god intended never story Spirit World Field Guide. closer than they appear
“I feel like I’m DEHH in 2013” - DEHH 2024
This format is so much better. I miss those videos.
Make Ken listen to Crest. In fact make him listen to all of Bladee discography, would be too funny.
I would pay serious money to see it
LMAO
They got to bring the reactions back! This and Lazer Dim would make my year
Ken not drained
what did you expect lmao hahahaha
This is the best DEHH in months. Studio era was something to be very proud of but this is honestly what DEHH is. Shaky handheld and guys chatting
NO JID FOREVER STORY ??? they wildin bruh
There's 6 Nas Albums LMAO
@@drewtube6838 word
No sa-roc daughter sharecroppers And Che Noir as god intended. Lyric Jones closer than they appear
I just went through my list of albums n they super bugging. Also. No Common & Pete Rock??? No Nas AT ALL?!?! Not even the Magic albums. No Lupe AT ALL, no Rapsody, NO FUCKIN DOECHII???? No LL Cool J, no Benny the Butcher. Whoever made that list super ass
bladee and ecco have been big names in the underground for a long time. could never get into their stuff but cold visions album made me a fan and opened my ear to some of their older stuff
There’s an energy to the way these vids are shot that was missing from the zoom vids/old studio. Glad yall back on this
Thank God they back in a studio! Shit feels like old days
Funny things. Y’all have heard 454 before. Back on Melt My Eyez, they’re on Sanjuro.
Also to be honest, a lot of Pitchfork staff is more on the Underground/Indie side of music. (And is mostly white.) so… this is one of those lists of journalists trying so hard to predict the next wave. Explains all the weirdos.
I love this style. Y’all videos are the best when it’s like this
This format is perfect
Kens reaction is so valid bro lol i love yall man
3:14 new Rod reaction just dropped
Y’all sleeping on 454. Fast Trax 3 is wonderful.
If y'all are actually going to make a list aggregating the best hip hop albums of the 2020s, I think a good challenge would be to limit it to 1 album per artist. You'd get a way bigger scope of the genre by doing that in my opinion.
454 has become one of my favorite dudes out right now but he took a few listens for me to get into and I think dehh would hate him lol
Y’all really gotta tap into 454, it might take a little bit to click with his sound I’m ngl but when it does click; it HITS.
he might be the only one from that specific wave that does it for me
“You’re seriously telling me that Jack Harlow isn’t better than all these????” -Ken (2024)
Crazy times
Bladee is literally magnitudes more popular than Billy Woods and has proved to have staying power and influence.
I don’t listen to him but he's undeniable.
few things i wanna get in on this topic:
1) hiphop isnt as prominent as it seems to be currently in the mainstream as of right now. theres been a resurgence of good pop music and even country music as well (bit of contradictions for this tho. continuity to the next.)
2. Pitchfork doesnt seem to be "tapped in" to alot of the mainstream space of the genre because as far as ive heard some if not most of the staff that worked on the list are more familiar with the indie/underground scene of music. however it seems their hiphop picks are based mainly on popularity than quality.
3) the genre is changing in a sense. cant really blame yall for being confused on these picks cuz im with yall on some of them as well but simply put i just think yall are too grown and not tapped in at all LMAO. the sound yall grew up with is not big in this current state of the genre. its alright to not like/know any of these artists at all but i do feel you should ponder into some to get a sense of understanding why people like these artists.
sorry for the essay. at the end of the day who cares what pitchfork thinks?
I also believe Ken and Feefo would be fans of Rx Papi.
Bladee and Ecco2k are two of the most creative artists today pushing boundaries more than most rappers for over ten years.
they’re innovatively ass
We will get the dead end list the same time as the 808s review 😂😂. Glad the classic feel has returned tho
No jid? No JPEGMAFIA?!?! No Vince??!? No Denzel?! No Lupe? No Boldy?!??
And sa-roc. Che Noir. Aesop rock
@@maryannappiagyei4277Aes sadly will never reach a mainstream list like this… The only reason they had someone like billy woods on the list is cause the Armand Hammer project w/ alchemist broke through the mainstream and now publications like this are trying to give us indie heads a bone like, “here’s one of your indie artists… be happy” lol

Whether you like the guy/album or not…
“Michael” by Killer Mike won a Grammy & didn’t make a mainstream top 100 list…that’s ridiculous!
They gave it a 6.5/10, BigCosta!
So they probably weren't gonna put it on their list
@@iceymagoo they put an album they gave an 8.8 to barely in the list at 96 (noname-Sundial), so they can’t even be consistent with that 😂😂😂
I think Whole Lotta Red should be first or second, but there's no way Ken Carson's album is better than Call Me If You Get Lost
I think y'all are missing that Pitchfork is fundamentally a publication that doesnt cater to hiphop heads. If a hiphop album appeals to hipsters more than the hiphop head, they will put that hipster pick over the culture's. Idk why ppl expect Pitchfork to have good taste on this matter, they're degenerates. I would understand if this was a Complex of HipHopDx list.
Drain Gang hate by Ken is a bit too much tho, they do contribute pretty boundary pushing sounds to the scene. I'm more surprised RXKNephew's Crack Therapy 3 wasnt on the list. Rx Papi choice was good too
To hold Pitchfork accountable, Ken and Feefo should review the albums that's on the list but they've never heard of, on DE365. Including the full Veeze album.
They’ve done a Veeze review
Put respect on 454, get hip
I hope y'all never retire. I can't wait to see Kinge hating on the new school when he's in his 70s. And I mean that sincerely. The passion has only grown over the years
Bladee and Ecco2K is hard to get into but trust they have some good songs. The Flag is Raised on Crest is sick. For me it's less about the lyrics and more about the general feel and production, Be Nice 2 Me is also good
Don’t even try to convert them lol and Be nice 2 me isn’t a good introduction
@@commanderpinnaclesNot for old heads lol Noblest strive would be the best because it’s his most lyrical
@@commanderpinnacles it was for me haha. its unlikely they'll ever come around but drain gang stuff is worth a go
DEHH needs to do a list! The culture dont wanna hear from Pitchfork no more
Looking forward to your counterpoint list of 42-49 year old rappers!
pitchfork wildin as always throwing drain gang on the best rap albums list
I need beezy's reaction to crest lmao, btw thanks for making a video about it I just discovered this Jim Legxacy dude through this and he's DIFFERENT

Not one of them "King's Disease" albums made the list??? Blasphemy
Yall have never heard (or listened to) RIO DA YUNG OG?!
Yall not up on the Flint wave?!?!
Imma need a DEHH reacts to RIO vid asap.
454 is one of the best rappers from the underground rn and bladee's been super influential to the genre as of recent it makes sense he's here plus this list isnt good but it makes sense from pitchfork it choose some genuinely interesting picks for the list though
We takin Pitchfork seriously now? Complex and Rolling Stone were silly enough to cover. Glad the studio is back. See yall on the next one, I'm not bothering with this shit. 😂
I just wish they stuck to a specific criteria, if it's popularity then don't have underground albums on there, because if you have pray for Haiti then it should be higher than where it is. Then we also will expect more underground albums that are generational. Like I think Pray for Haiti is a classic, but if you know about that then I expect you to know about burning desire, or LP!, Or melt my eyes. I'm okay with a popularity contest, I'm not okay with you trying to rationalize the idea that ganger is a better album than pray for Haiti, I literally refuse
Pitchfolk has truly lost its way
They never had their way lol
I agree with Hood Hottest Princess. It was fire 😂 Bangers.
Based on my own Playlists from 2020 to now,
2020 was a rough year lol

@nah8780 well this is going off of albums. There were fire singles too but the albums weren't all that great so ur right lol n some songs like the diss tracks weren't on albums either except for Future & Metros album

for 2020 for example, u called it a rough year, but ur missing some of the best hip-hop albums of the decade so far: Alfredo, RTJ4, Manger On McNichols, Shrines, Miles, From King to a God etc... get what I mean?
no little simz, jpegmafia, armand hammer, MIKE, Mckinley Dixon, Danger Mouse/Black Thought, Gibbs..... lol I mean pitchfork is owned by GQ now I think so it all makes sense.

Guys, how come you didnt review Logics Ultra85? It kinda surprised me lol
Never thought id hear Bladee mentioned on DEHH 😂
Pitchfork is an indie centric publication, these are just the hiphop albums happen to make their way on to their list and appeal to their sensibilities. I do not see the problem with their list, it makes sense for them. If this was XXL’s or Billboard’s top hiphop albums then i would see the cause for concern even though at the end of the day it’s just their opinions. Also I think you guys should give Foreign Exchange by Rx Papi and Gud a chance :)
I agree I don’t always agree with them but the list is insane. I’m not even mad at veeze but the lack of hip hop and what they put instead.😢 hip hop might be down bad
They are not perfect, but I feel like Rolling Stone would have a better list than Pitchfork. But I look forward to a Top 100 list from DEHH. 🙏🏽
anyone got a link to their reaction to veezes ganger? I NEED to see kens reaction to it
Yall Should Use The Bluetooth Mics. The Sound Quality Will Be Better

Curry, Denzel
Staples, Vince
Q, ScHoolboy
Fiasco, Lupe
Simz, Little
5 names missing from this list that deserve to be included. (JID is a given that was not taken and that is the ultimate disrespect.)
Veeze Slander Will Not Be Tolerated
Royce's The Allegory (2020) should be on the list
No RTJ4, no King's Disease 1,2, OR 3, no Denzel Curry, no Aesop Rock, No Armand Hammer (Yes Billy thank God), no Danny Brown and/or Peggy, what the fuck is this list lol.
No Griselda at all??
No Denzel or Vince to me is crazy, Dark Times is my AOTY this year and Melt My Eyez was for 2022. Definitely a bad list
Y MFs Y 🤯 do U keep falling 4 the banana N the tail pipe 😳
Hip-Hop is not as dominate as it use to be. Especially since 2020. 😂. Yall need to seriously make yall own lists cause I hear a lot of criticisms every year and yall not do shit.
Yeah, this aint 2018 anymore, expecting 1/4 or 1/3 to be Hip Hop is crazy, specially with how other genres are evolving faster and bigger
But it's still very popular there can easily be more albums on here
We still fall for this y’all? I am convinced these lists are made to troll people and spark controversy and attention.
NObody said Theeese nuts!???
Bladee isn’t for lyrical heads fr he mainly for the artistry side of rap
I'm not the biggest fan but Playboi Carti and Ecco2k/Bladee absolutely deserve to be on the list. They've defined so much of the sound for the 2020's whether you love or hate it. My biggest beef with this is that if you are gonna be a publication that tries to represent the most groundbreaking and defining sounds of the decade, how the fuck do you not include JPEGMAFIA, Baby Keem, any of the Griselda guys? I get you can't represent everybody on planet earth but damn. I just realized they didn't include Injury Reserve's By The Time I Get To Phoenix and they put FKA Twigs- Magdalene on there which came out in like August 2019. 😂

Ken look like he got bbq on his chin
I might be a lil Florida biased lol but Feefo and Ken should review that 454 album “Fast Trax 3” on DE365

No Donda?!?!?!?
This list is wild, but y'all obviously don't know Pitchfork. Guarantee you never heard of 90% of the rest of their list either. They're not Rolling Stone or Billboard. Different animal.
What is the list
JPEGMafia should have been on this list twice
And not one of the great Nas albums of the 2020s
Yall gonna talk about this j cole claim of GoAT of features? Yall have talked about his features before but there are easily 5 other rappers who has better features than J Cole
Pitchfork the worst publication for hip-hop. They take the music completely out of it. Go off vibes 😂
Crack was smoked before this list was made.
Kd3
This list is an abomination. It has to be rage bait.
hipsters love veeze I don't understand it
damn yall so out of touch lmao
These are grown men with kids u can’t expect them to be tapped in like that😂
I'm [not] sorry-I know I'm probably about to sound like a "oldhead"-but
these guys in the comments talking about 454, bladee, ecco2k are not
about to fool me with this "pushing the boundaries" nonsense. Are we
on DeadEndHipHop or are on DeadEndHipHop? Are we talking about
rap ability or sonic selection? Sound may be 'evolving' but as far as
RAP goes, I don't think a lot of this new music is rap, and if it is, the
quality of the raps does not stack up to the previous eras. But hey 🤷🏾♂️
I’ll be honest rap has been highkey trash in the 2020s
In the mainstream sure
man y'all exaggerate too much lol... it's been a really great decade so far
and best part is we not even halfway through it 😂
No sa-roc and lyric Jones and Che Noir Little Simz. Not tell me sexy red better better than both artist
Don't forget she also put out a better album than Kendrick.
It's just that marketing is now more important to these lists than artistry too. For a while lists still didn't let bullshit in just cause it was marketable, but now we're there.
People don't even like her as much already. So, they're also just behind. The people that liked her said she immediately got controlled and lost her authenticity. I wouldn't know where that authenticity was to begin with cause she was always off putting as fuck lol. Just like Miley Cyrus was off putting in her weird rap era.
