Thank you so much for you wisdom and insight..im 35 and started a cleaning business last yr, and its mainly residential, but my dream is to have major contracts. This video have opened my mind and heart to things I didn't think about. I have lots of hands on experience, and I have customer service down packed, but im not very tech savvy, and I was afraid of this part, but when you have knowledge, it makes it easier. Thank you so much..i sure wish you could be my mentor.
Hi Kendra Glad the video was helpful. We should do a walk through for both residential and commercial accounts. After asking good questions over the phone you can quote a price but give a range until you see the location. There has been many times when giving a quote for residential that the home was not in the condition the person told me it was. This is why you give a range and once your in the home you can give a solid price for service. For commercial cleaning it common practice to do a walk through, then give a proposal.
@@thejanitorialstore wow! Thanks for replying, that means a lot to me. And yes, a walk through is so necessary, I've had clients who wanted a deep move-out clean, and when I got there, it was a hoarders dream, and my nightmare! I have so many great qualities, I wear many different hats, and I'm able to do just about anything. I'm a natural leader and teacher, and that's what I want to give out of this. I have much bigger dreams than just owning a company. I have an amazing story, with lots of twist and turns, and I have so much to offer the younger generation, those in need, and people in other nations.. I'm going to watch all your videos, take notes, and build myself up from ground zero. I needed this video this morning. I've been inspired but knowledge and im beyond eager to go out and impress people.
This was so informative, I'm so grateful to have found this video. I will nail the next commercial walkthrough I go on for sure! You guys always give me such good info (you've given me feedback in Facebook groups) and I am so grateful! Thank you
Thank you so much for this valuable video. I am doing an office walkthrough and so grateful to have these questions be the questions that i will be asking today. Thanks again. You're amazing!
You forgot to ask who is taking care of the Plants ?? I always check the plants for water ( you can tell if they are real or not) I've seen people bring plants into the office and Never take care of them....So I always water the plants and take care of them even though I am not required to do so :)
You would do that if its in your scope of work. It is an extra service. Most business will take care of plants in house or hire a professional service to maintain them.
I wouldn’t touch any plants If something happens it’s on you I know you want to impress the manager But I would rather impress them with the quality of the service agreed and that’s what you get paid for Anything else is on property manager responsibility
Hi, as for someone starting new into cleaning business, do you suggest having contracts first than get insured, get ein #, etc. Or should it be the opposite?
Most customers will require it. Does that insurance cover you when your company is accused of taking money or some item and they have it on video? If not I hope you have deep pockets....because it will cost you more then you know.
@@dinayansane7524 If you are asking if you can set the price of the job, Yes. That price needs to be a win/win for both parties. You should not give a percentage to the IC in which they can't make a fair profit. I recommend an 80/20 split. 80% going to the contractor. I always tell IC to run the numbers for the job so they know were they need to be. With that number they can except the job or negotiate a better price.

You're welcome Brittany, thanks for sharing!
RCCS is grateful ,You nail it brother, just what we needed, to go to the next level.
What I do is basically pay per hour but by the job, let's say you pay $20 per hr, you know the job will take 2hrs, then you say this jobs pays $40
Excellent. In the process of constructing proposals and the information provided definitely curbed brainstormed questions constructed.💯 thank you
You are welcome.

Thank you Sir! I appreciate your help so very much 🙏🏼 God bless
Could you do a walk through questions for a new build home post-construction clean?
Sure I'll do that. Thanks for posting your question.

Number 31. We would like to display the state and federal mandatory chemical safety sheets in your storeroom. ?
im pretty sure those documents cost money also.

You should have insurance in place so when you are asked about it you can tell them your covered.

Number 15. I'm assuming number 15 is baseboards and windows.
I dont know why im watching this i work for a staffing agency day labor! 😆.. Still good knowledge though
If I have insurance would you suggest that I am bonded as well?
Most customers will require it. Does that insurance cover you when your company is accused of taking money or some item and they have it on video? If not I hope you have deep pockets....because it will cost you more then you know.
@@thejanitorialstore that’s very true, thank you! Just starting out so I wanted to make sure that everything is aligned before I go after contracts.
@@thejanitorialstore also if I only have say 2 to 4 employees how much should the bond amount be?
@@truth517 That is a question you need to ask your insurance agent. Most will start with $10,000 bond.
Am I allowed to attend the walk thru with my independent contractor? And set the price of the work?
Sure you can. They will be doing the same.
@@thejanitorialstore can I set the cost of the work without allowing the independent contractor any say so? I know can for employees

I was thinking the 80 20 percent rule also but that's heavy on my pockets. I'd rather charge their pay by the hour
@@dinayansane7524 I would not do that. Pay them by the job. A price you both agreed to.
