As a Batman fan, this movie make me jump back in time when I saw the animated series, the surroundings, some takes, the fights and even the batsuit was incredible, the size of the actor and his body shape is amazing, a perfect comic book Batman... Just remember this, Bruce Wayne died with his parent's that night, cause he's not Bruce Wayne anymore, that's why he put that suit every night, that no one ever suffer what he suffer, and the kid killing the joker brings back that... What would it be if he could killed Joe Chill, if he had the will to revenge his parents instead of doing justice, that is the dilema of this movie. Vengeance or Justice... I think Justice is the only way... It's not Batman's fault, he's there because of the underworld criminals of gotham... They created him... Awesome work, I do like it a lot and I give you a 10, because you reflect perfectly the batman's psique and his inner struggles, and you don't have the budget of some other Batman's productions and even so you did an excellent job, as a fan I'll thank you.

***** I actually like Jared Leto's Jokers look. Because they took a leap of faith in making him look a little diffrent. They took the Ledger riute and in my opinion it worked, I loke the look of Leto's Joker
I’m sorry dude but this is not better than The Dark Knight Trilogy, not even close. But it’s an amazing fan made movie. You can tell it was made by real Batman fans
@@johnp.smithasimpleman7281 Actually TDK trilogy is my favorite Batman films, but I have to admit this is better. I mean the heart soul of this made it good. For a 30 minute movie they sure made it so understandable. They didn't even have to rush it to make it understandable. Like its not a origin story, but they still mention the death of his parents. Even the narration of Batman is a amazing touch. It brings me to them old detective films. It gives me a more of a first person view of who Batman is. It's like when he narrates, I feel like I am Batman. It puts me inside of his shoes. And the hate that the lady put against Batman, put me in her shoes as well. It shows everyones point of view, like the boy. Its an incredible film and I have to say its better than TDK trilogy. But I respect your opinion.
Kwuajae Got. Taste Sorry but I really disagree. No doubt this is an amazing fan made movie. But better than Batman Begins and TDK and TDKR? That’s just throwing to the trash all the hard work that Nolan put in his storytelling. Batman Begins is IMO the best Batman film. The extreme amount of amazing dialogue in those movies is unbeatable. The amazing Hans Zimmer music. The legendary cast with actors like Christian Bale, Michael Cane, Morgan Freeman, Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson etc... The epic Batman moments. The outstanding writing. The great cinematography. There’s just way too much effort and quality in those films to say that a fan made movie is better, regardless of how good this is.
@@johnp.smithasimpleman7281 True, Nolan put a lot of work in it and story was great. Most people liked it, but people hated for being an origin and Bruce just wanting to retire being Batman in TDKR. But to me there was more meaning into the movie, than other people didn't see in TDKR. And people down grade Bale's performance, because he got out shinned by Heath Ledger. But it doesn't always matter about the Grammy or Oscars and things like that. The reason I chose this over Nolan's because it kinda took me to a place that I didn't see in Nolans. But I agree with every word you said.
This was so much like a real Batman movie bro. Most of the time they show how Batman has a wonderful life and no villain can stop him and he has so many fans. This shows what fighting crime is really like. There's death, confusion, and some bad choices. Well done. Thank you for giving us a good Batman movie.
When should we expect the movie to hit theaters? My goodness, what a work of art: the characters, the staging, the costumes, the batsuit... everything is masterful. And the way Batman expresses about himself and Bruce... wonderful, very clever! You have my respects.
ikr? its like theres batman from the 90s movies, joker from the animated series, and everything else from the dark knight movies with a bit of under the red hood, and a pinch of the killing joke
Can you imagine the feels if Bruce Wayne were real? like imagine if there was this playboy millionaire that everyone thought was a douchebag. and then you found out that motherfucker left flowers where his parents died every chance he got. Shit would be sad as fuck.
I love how the actor who portrays Bruce really resembles and sounds like the one in the original animated series. I like how much attention they put to the details (I actually watched joker's preparation segment several times) and the actors move and talk naturally. it really has this feel and atmosphere more closer to the comics and animated series than the latest batman films (which I also liked a lot).
Mr21Daytime It's one thing to put on the costumes and do the parts. It's another thing to fully capture the atmosphere and personalities of said characters. And this movie...is doing it right.
The best part is they nailed the emotional response that Batman is supposed to trigger. I mean this feels just like a live action comic with live-action Kevin Conroy!
This is the definition of perfection. the costumes, lighting, voices, acting, everything there is worthy of a blockbuster movie. it's 2019 so I might be late to watch it, but fantastic job anyhow. the way you showed Batman's self-conflict was incredible and my favorite part. this fan film leaves a scar.
Deborah Taylor ***** This guy is the PERFECT batman/Bruce Wayne. Forget all those hollywood actors who have played that role they're nowhere in this guy's league. He has the voice of batman and he looks just like Wayne.
Heck yeah! I was so thinking that too, Kevin Porter is my fav Batman next to Michael Keaton and Christian Bale even though Bale sounds like he has to take a massive dump lol

Heath Ledger Joker: You know...a lot has changed since your old uncle Ledger's been away! A new Gotham (Gotham featured in B V S/ SS), a new Batman (Affleck replacing Bale)... EVEN A NEW JOKER (Leto)!

Good story, good acting, good soundtrack, humorous without compromising the drama of it. Excellent action sequences. Very true to the canon to the point where this would work in an alternate universe comic. Best joker since heath ledger and a very convincing Batman with great dialogue and monologue. And the whole time I really thought I was in the gritty streets and alleyways of Gotham. I think DC studios needs you desperately.

its been 9 years and I still watch this.......This is a true, positively, affirmatively, incredibly well done piece of art that should be placed in the batman hall of fame
Kevin Porter makes an excellent batman. I don't understand why hollywood won't cast actors who are actually physically fit and buff to play superheroes. Porter fits the role well, and this youtube short proves it. Not only does this vid resemble batman the animated series, but I would not be surprised if the makers of the batman arkum series video games intentionally made batman in the game look like porter. The schoenke brothers seem to know what they are doing especially when it comes to casting the right people to play the roles. sean schoenke designed the bat logo, which is very cool, while aaron schoenke was involved in picking the right people to play the parts. Kevin Porter is probably the best live-action batman out all the actors who have played Batman over the years, which includes Keaton, Clooney, Kilmer, and Bale. Porter has the right height and build, and is the only actor who is actually buff while in the batsuit. It's not body armor, but porter himself. I would like to see more of him as wayne, because that little snippet we got of him as wayne in the beginning of the vid wasn't enough. I say this because the actors that have played batman--wayne looked like one but not the other. Porter looks like he has the looks to look like both batman and bruce wayne. Big credit goes to the original gray and black batsuit worn in this vid. It's a classic and works well in film. Good job Schoenke brothers. If you guys are reading this, I would ask that you do a vid on wolverine. And if you guys can handle it, do a vid on the whole x-men team. Just the major ones, like Storm, Cyclops, Beast for example. Your casting picks for City of Scars were pretty good, even down to Harley Quinn. I hope you guys do the same for any x-men vids, too.
This is the closest fan film to a Hollywood movie that I’ve ever seen. Like, WOW. From the cinematography to the costumes to the acting, this is definitely worthy of the big screen. Amazing work, hope to see more!
Kevin Porter is just the perfect live action Batman and it's sad that Hollywood casting has become a popularity contest because this guy should have been in the Superman/Batman movie.
Hes not very well known enough for them to take the risk, since it can mean losses of millions of dollars. So they tend to choose bigger well known names.
punwisp Well you see the problem with that though is that no one has ever actually seen Affleck in the Bat suit and no one knows how he will act. So it seems to me that the bigger risk is casting someone that isn't really known for those kinds of movies.
They Audition the roles, so apparently he was convincing, regardless, it doesn't change my point. Hes still a safer bet, because he is more well known, and a proven actor. What would be worse is if they chose a actor no one has seen before. Thats quite risky, and all there DC movies save a couple have flopped. People assume the worse, ben will probably blow our minds away at his performance. this process happens all the time. Look at heath Ledger. Hathaway really wasn't bad either. The other sad thing, is it is rare to really see a movie match its cartoon variations, they tend to make it more adult/ realistic, while throwing there own spin on it, instead of copying a style. These guys def chose well for copying the batman from the games. Def looks the role. Least in batman form. The voice is pretty spot on too.
punwisp I will give Affleck a chance but, the movie itself already seems like it's gonna flop because they have one of the least proven actors playing the role of a villain even though he has never actually played the bad guy in his other movies.
I'd rather watch a season of this than anything DCEU is putting on screen. This Batman feels more authentic. Truly astonishing work, reminds me of Batman: the Animated Series.
@Curtis Ball "did that kid do what i should have done years ago?" Absolutely! That's one thing i hate about batman, this politically correct stupid idea that if he kills the joker he becomes no better than him, that just makes batman capture joker every 5 minutesso he can escape and kill half of the city again. How many lives would have been saved if instead of capturing the joker every 5 minutes so he can escape and kill a bunch of people he just put him down for good? If i was that kid i would have told batman after killing the joker "my parents, and many others would be alive if you had done what i just did a long time ago. I blame you". That's why i love when he says in TDKR "All those people i murdered, by letting you live" i'm like "FINALLY YOU REALISED OBVIOUS YOU D"CKHEAD!"
After all these years, I now realize that from the moment he tells the story about the lion and the zebra, Joker sewed the seed in the kid’s head that he was going to kill him. He absolutely wanted this to happen, and he was telling us from the beginning that he would die tonight.
Oh shit you're right lol I remember seeing this almost a decade ago and was just rewatching it today (still holds up super well) and you're right, that was Joker's plan
"Gotham's sick of Batman's conscious... so am I" What a great fucking concept to explore. The cinematography is phenomenal; the lighting creates such a gritty aesthetic and really adds to the mood and atmosphere, along with claustrophobic camera angles. The actors are surprisingly really good too. The subtle nuances of Joker's manic dialog captures his psyche so well. Totally underrated. Also, Harley's the kind of unhinged babe I'm usually attracted to, haha. Whoever made this has a very clear understanding of filmmaking and all of the necessary nuances - even the subtle details - needed to capture visual storytelling.
Why can't they just make a batman movie like this? Ben affleck was going to be like this, but after Zack Snyder stepped down, that other idiot director ruined justice league and all of the modern DC films
believe it or not the other idiot director was Josh Whedon they had to do a lot of different reshoots and too many hands in the pot. that's why Justice League it didn't suck but it could have been great
bruh calm down, all the zack snyder movies were trash besides MOS... all the other rcent films like aquaman, shazam and wonder woman are great... the new joker movie is the best movie of 2019... so idk why yall saying "other idiot director" and "modern DC films"
Snyder only directed 2 good films, 300 and the Dawn of the Dead retcon film. Snyder is an AWFUL editor and other than when he directs action sequences ( like the Batman warehouse fight scene in BvS ) Snyder is not really a good director. His ' vision for the DCEU was as bad as Whedon's plus Snyder is 50/50 in terms of ggod casting. Cavil, Affleck, Gal Gadot were good casting choices. Momoa was ok. Jesse Eisenberg & Ezra Milller were abominable casting choices. I tell you, im almost 60 years old, read TONS of DC comics, seen many DC hero tv shows & films and i guarantee you, that you put this Aaron Schonke as director/co-DCEU film forerunner with Geoff Johns, Bruce Timms & Paul Dini & we would FINALLY get an epic DCEU
@@Michael-ty5pq I agree Aquaman and Shazam was ass. Shazam was to cheesy and corny acting. Like they just made him to goofy. I know what they tried to do, by having him act as a kid, because he is a kid just in a adult body. But he was never like that. He was kinda like Spider-Man almost, with the puns and jokes and stuff. But this he was just to silly, like its stupid. I don't know why people liked it, its overrated. They tried to out do the Marvel films, but Marvel didn't try to hard on their films. As for Aquaman he's goofy too, he always smiling and grinning and shit like that. Like what the fuck, that's kinda creepy. His lines were cheesy asf. And the movie was wayyyy to similar to Thor's first film like come on. With the evil brother and shit. Its like they weren't even trying. And the corniest line ever on the film was this shit. "So, what do you want us to call you, 'King'?" "No, call me Ocean Master" Like goddamm what the fuck "Ocean Master" my man Patrick had betters lines in Insidious than that piece of shit. After that one line I just straight up walked out the AMC and left. That was just a waist of money. It really disappointed me.
Australian Myth the newer ones work very well as they have more armor plating than spandex just for me makes Batman look more hardcore although the Arkham games‘ suits are also less armor like and those look awesome too though I want to see an Arkham Origins style Batsuit in live action one of my favorite designs though this one is pretty good
I'm afraid that, with another Batman - to be played by Robert Pattinson - we will be back to the plated, padded, all-black look. It was done til exhaustion and I think we should stick to the Baftleck suit formula. Grey and Black, with just a bit of padding. At the very least, I would like to see the Telltale Batsuit.
I love how this film portrays The Joker as an actual threat rather than just being the ‘cool Batman villain’ that everyone loves, and how this film portrays Bats as a genuinely kind person who cares for the people of Gotham!
This is why It's Hardest to be the Batman..... The Dark Knight does what He only can... But the PAIN remains.... Great document Batinthesun.... Keep it On...
Well, it may not be perfect, but it is amazing... Sometimes when indies do it like this, it's gonna be eye-candy!... Great job! Hope to see more movies from you guys... :) P.S. -- Bats is huge, am I right? Kevin should be considered as Batman in Man of Steel 2, in my opinion... He's just like Jim Lee's Dark Knight...
"Great Fan Film!" 7.8/10: First things first, this movie arguably one of the greatest Batman fan-films on youtube! It's dark, mysterious and has a great plot. But there are many flaws. Joker is one of them. He doesn't feel believable, and the actor that plays him just feels weak. Batinthesun could've picked a better actor to play Joker. He barely laughs, and one thing that erked me was that they killed him off at the end. The reason Batman never killed Joker was because he had morals, it's doesn't matter what the Joker did to him, batman knew in the inside, Joker was just a very sad man in a very serious state of insanity. Although I do like the whole "Joker got the last laugh" thing. The actor who plays Batman is awesome! He Should be Batman for real! Overall, the film is great! Definitely want to see more!
are you insane? How dare you rate this 7.8/10, at least you could've rate this8.9/10. This is gold, I would honestly rate this 10/10. The guy who played the joker is perfect, he portrays the original Joker from the comics.....let me guess you're on of those Heath Ledger Joker fans right? Supposedly Heath played a diverse Joker, he played his own one, a one that i supposedly supposed to be a much more real life like terrorist. But what's the point of calling him the Joker and painting his face like a clown? Joker is supposed to be a crazy insane uncontrollable massive psycho just like the one that is portrayed by Nicholson and the one that is portrayed perfectly in this movie. You said he doesn't laugh? He did laugh several times in the movie. The killing part, I do agree with you, but hey, it's Joker he's died alot more than that and he always comes back. XD
To be fair, Heath Ledger was never one of my favorites. He was OKAY, just like the rest. I still don't believe we've gotten the perfect Joker. My view of Joker could be really anything. Everyone can play the Joker in there own sort of style, and make it look good. Joker doesn't really have a certain way of being. But from what I have seen in this movie, I can say, exactly what I say to the other Joker's, it was OKAY. I don't believe we'll ever have the best Joker. Because like I said. Joker doesn't really have a specific personality, thus, it doesn't matter how you play him.
***** well it's up to you bro lol, I honestly liked this Joker and Jack Nicholson's. Because to me they portrayed the original Joker from the comics. Joker's personality is a crazy psychotic uncontrollable clown. So I don't know why you're saying that he doesn't have a specific personality, explain yourself when you made that statement.
Loved the entire thing, very good. I also liked that the Joker was rambling to himself, it makes him more believable as a madman. Sociopaths aren't really mad, so Joker portrayed as a murderous wacko isn't really an insane Joker, just a very evil one. But Joker who talks to himself, rambling nonsensical stuff, that is a telltale sign of insanity and I can't help but wonder why many never took that approach, if they really wanted to portray Joker as insane. I also very much liked the inclusion of Zsasz, who is, while not a very complex character, a good Batman villain. He feels like a sort-of warm-up boss, like he's the threat that Batman has to face while Joker, Two-Face and the like are incarcerated. The only thing I didn't care for was the end monologue, which felt too weak and forced.
Every time i watch this, i always think that Kevin Porter should be cast as adult Bruce Wayne in the Gotham series if they ever plan to show the Birth of Batman.
the Nolan Trilogy, Batman 1989 series, Joker 2019, and the DCEU feel kind of like comics but this one. This is one of the most Comic like films I have ever seen. Almost Better than The Batman (2022)
The schoenke brothers are very good when it comes to making adaptations of comic book heroes. Their 5 to 30 minute UA-cam vids are many times better than what Hollywood has done with the same characters that had their own movie, especially wolverine. Batinthesun's "wolverine vs. predator" vid captures wolverine's mannerisms best. His attitude and aggression are spot on. The schoenke brothers even captured wolverine's fighting well, because in that vid he is swiping upward at his much larger opponent because he is shorter than them, rather than swiping straight or downward as hugh jackman was doing because he is too tall. Not only that but the schoenke's show wolverine aiming for predator's legs and mid section which makes sense for a character who is much shorter than his opponents.
Mr21Daytime I want to know why they aren't making their own stand-alone film. I understand the overwhelming fascination with existing cool fiction, but these short films should be stepping stones to making and creating something for themselves rather than as a fan work. Given more time and less special effects for a compelling modern story, could work. I'd write something to that effect for free.
WritingFighter It could be finances, but you have to remember, in order to do their own film, and by film I am assuming you are referring to the big screen, they would need the rights to the characters they would produce and direct for film; and not just from marvel, but also from fox, who owns the rights to every member of the x-men. I doubt fox and marvel would give them the ok to do it.
This film is amazing, incredible, awesome! Easy to see that this is made by true fans of Batman publications, as they really understand and feel the characters and story. Excellent portrayals, especially Batman and the Joker. I think if Mark Hamill and/or Kevin Conroy ever stop voice-acting the Joker and Batman, then these actors from this film portraying those roles (Paul Molnar and Kevin Porter) should be the new voices. These men have done the best fan-made portrayals of Batman and the Joker I have ever seen on UA-cam!

Kevin Porter is like the best Batman I’ve ever seen. The voice, the acting, the suit. He’s perfect for this role. And batinthesun does so freaking well with the directing and effects.

Bat In The Sun is more than just a fan film company IMO. Their quality is epic.
***** I know this is late, but I actually have high hopes for Jared Leto as Joker, because I feel he can bring that comic version of him to a live action even better than Jack Nicholson.

this short budget fan film is even better than big budget movies. this is how real batman Is.
I’m sorry dude but this is not better than The Dark Knight Trilogy, not even close. But it’s an amazing fan made movie. You can tell it was made by real Batman fans
@@johnp.smithasimpleman7281 He never mentioned TDK. I think he just meant the newer ones.

It is October 19, 2018 & this is still one of my all time favorite films. Pure genius in creating this!!
You are absolutely right. Everything about this vid especially batman and joker themselves resemble batman the animated series. That is very cool.
Mr21Daytime It's one thing to put on the costumes and do the parts. It's another thing to fully capture the atmosphere and personalities of said characters. And this movie...is doing it right.
it was great if he make batman in the movies
The best part is they nailed the emotional response that Batman is supposed to trigger. I mean this feels just like a live action comic with live-action Kevin Conroy!
This is the definition of perfection. the costumes, lighting, voices, acting, everything there is worthy of a blockbuster movie. it's 2019 so I might be late to watch it, but fantastic job anyhow. the way you showed Batman's self-conflict was incredible and my favorite part. this fan film leaves a scar.

😂 did we see the same pile of crap?
As a Life long Batman Fan this was by far one of the best Batman Fan Films I have seen in quite some time it was gritty and it was everything Batman is Kudos to you guys for this amazing film
its been 9 years and I still watch this.......This is a true, positively, affirmatively, incredibly well done piece of art that should be placed in the batman hall of fame
The suit of the original comics, the voice of Kevin Conroy, and the looks of Ben Affleck before BvS was even announced. Perfect Batman on the outside.
Even after over a decade you guys still make some of the best Batman films I've seen.
No , the film ruim
This is the closest fan film to a Hollywood movie that I’ve ever seen. Like, WOW. From the cinematography to the costumes to the acting, this is definitely worthy of the big screen. Amazing work, hope to see more!
The joker is so terrifying and menacing in this, I love this portrayal. Batman is also amazing from the fight scenes to his narrating voice
this is amazing, the naration, the voices, i have such an arkham "feel" watching this, i guess its the suit, the way he walks
Kevin Porter is just the perfect live action Batman and it's sad that Hollywood casting has become a popularity contest because this guy should have been in the Superman/Batman movie.
Omg i was just thinking that!!!!
I’m watching this masterpiece to
Prepare myself for “Dying is Easy” 🦇🖤

That kid was savage he killed the joker and told off batman
@Curtis Ball "did that kid do what i should have done years ago?"
Absolutely! If i was that kid i would have told batman after killing the joker
"my parents, and many others would be alive if you had done what i just did a long time ago. I blame you". That's why i love when he says in TDKR "All those people i murdered, by letting you live" i'm like "FINALLY YOU REALISED OBVIOUS YOU D"CKHEAD!"

"Gotham's sick of Batman's conscious... so am I"
What a great fucking concept to explore.

@@elijahablaze Momoa not really for me. I wish they would've stuck with the comic look of Aquaman. Its just better.
"So, what do you want us to call you, 'King'?"
"No, call me Ocean Master"
Like goddamm what the fuck "Ocean Master" my man Patrick had betters lines in Insidious than that piece of shit. After that one line I just straight up walked out the AMC and left. That was just a waist of money. It really disappointed me.
And people say the comic book batsuit doesn't work
Australian Myth I've always wanted to see a more comic styled suit in the movies. Afflecks suit is the closest so far.
It looks a little goofy in the Asylum & in the club.
John nacho Not really that trash ass movie
I have to say, the girl playing Harley nails it!
For sure; she should be hired to play Harley Quinn in a big-budget Hollywood version.
She's better than Margot Robbie's take on the character.

"Great Fan Film!" 7.8/10:
First things first, this movie arguably one of the greatest Batman fan-films on youtube!
Maribel O ?
ALMIGHTY KING my favorite joker is hamils joker from the animated series. His laugh and personality on there is gold
I remember watching this when it was first posted, I watched it once, and never forgot about it all these years later.
Every time i watch this, i always think that Kevin Porter should be cast as adult Bruce Wayne in the Gotham series if they ever plan to show the Birth of Batman.
If only Hollywood would do batman like this.......

bob kentos are you fucking serious?
The dark night series is better, I don't mine fan films but there not as good
5 years later, "Batman: City of Scars" is still one of my all-time favorite videos on UA-cam! :)
the Nolan Trilogy, Batman 1989 series, Joker 2019, and the DCEU feel kind of like comics but this one. This is one of the most Comic like films I have ever seen. Almost Better than The Batman (2022)
See this Hollywood??! THIS IS HOW YOU DO THE BATMAN!!!

The dude playing Batman has the voice. Needs his own film with a huge budget. Get it done!
The Batman look with the grey & black is better for live action...great choice Mr. Wayne!
Gotta love how the carnival extras are actual entire families, probably friends of the crew. I’ve worked as a boom op for 20 years now, I know love for film when I see it. Well done to you all!
"Gothams sick of Batmans concience......and so am I."
