What is Samadhi?

During an Integral Yoga retreat in the early 1980s, Swami Satchidananda was asked to speak about samadhi, the state of oneness that yogis seek. He explains, "When the mind is balanced, free from turbulence, it becomes crystal clear and that is samadhi of the mind." He goes on to say that there’s no samadhi for the spirit because the spirit is always pure-it’s the divine in us. He also speaks about how tests arrive to test the tranquility of spiritual seekers. "If you truly experience samadhi, nothing should shake your equanimity."

@@geniusofjoy Peter Max met Swami Satchidananda in India, fell in love with yoga and the Swami. The rest is history... you can see him if you lookup the Woodstock Festival of 1969. He opened an Ashram in Virginia called yogaville. My yoga teacher trained at yogaville. Regards.
