i love pacs music & hit em up is a classic but this song did not top ice cubes n.w.a. diss, "no vaseline," hit em up was not really a conventional diss track, it was more of a declaration of war. bdp's "im still number one (numero uno remix)" & "the bridge is over," canibus's 2nd round ko," nas's "ether," & jay-z's "take over" are diss tracks. pac skipped the lyrics & went straight to war, something that was never really done before him except for some gangsta rappers like DJ Quik & MC Eights feud.
