This is stupid, at least the way it was handled is. The concept has potential, but the way he goes about it doesn't make a lot of sense. He is buying it in a way that could end up causing him a lot of trouble... if this was realist. Plus, it seems to be the watch that stops time, not him, which means he has a large vulnerability. Add in the women chasing him, whom he doesn't show much interest in, all the braggarts trying to humlilate him, and I backed out not even halfway.
