Great info. I didn't know this stuff even though I've been scrapping for about ten years now. I found two honest yards and deal with them. The newest one I deal with pays by the pound so no worries about net ton, gross ton etc. Thanks for the info.
Again I say you are a great teacher. I learn something from every video and you do it in a way that is fun & interesting. I just hope there’s not going to be a test.😀
Enjoy all your vids man what better way to learn but from the man.Drove all over yesterday looking for scrap didn't get anything came home stressed out. Then had a knock on my door neighbor gave me about 70 pds of copper pipe blessed in 10 foot lengths ??do i have to cut these thanks!!
Thanks for the videos...I was wondering....what are the typical types of steel people should sort? Of course we all have heard of shred but I also have heard of short steel, heavy steel, etc. Just don't know how i should sort it all. Now I have a shred pile (nearly 2 tons) and cast iron pile (little over a ton). Wondering if I should break my shred pile down further? for example: do rotors and stators from electric motors go in the shred pile or are they considered something else? Do they get paid at different rates? Thanks so much for all you do for the scrappers out there!!!!!!
Bob, check out this video I made recently. It doesn't cover all you questions but it helps with some. I plan on doing more follow up videos to break down ferrous items even more I just have to find the time! But this video will at least get you started! ua-cam.com/video/0OAt_9VyckA/v-deo.html
Nice video my man it would be nice if all yards would have the same standers in weight but we know that's never going to happen just another way for them to make more money off of my hard work!
Im very new to this and haven't taken anything to the yard yet, so the yard down here in jax.fl. payout is by the CWT.. any insight on this would be appreciated
Buck, CWT is an abbreviation for hundred weight. Don’t ask me why that is the abbreviation for it!!! That just means that is what they are paying per one hundred lbs. a lot of scrapyards say it that way. So if they were paying $.08 per pound that would be $8.00 per 100 pounds if it said CWT. Hope that helps! I probably should have mentioned paying by the hundred!!!
again i learn something and didnt expected to ...i was sure a gross ton was same has net happy new year buddy thanks again im rely happy for my gift went grabbing it yesterday go check my new video uploaded yesterday
jackpot digger, I’ll do it right now! Sorry for all the confusion! It makes it seem like such a big deal but you and tony might end up not liking it at all!!! It wouldn’t hurt my feelings if you had to sell it!
