    I’ve even learning Cantonese as my grandmother’s language and Mandarin as my grandfather’s language.
    I have observed and concluded that Cantonese is easier/simpler to learn than Mandarin and I learn it every week.

    I am turning 49 on Sunday, and I have been promising myself for the last decade that I would learn a new language. I love Cuba, so Spanish was my first pick. However, I live in Vancouver, and there is a large Asian population here, I'm missing out on an entire world right here at home! I want to learn Cantonese and Mandarin first, as I feel it is more useful and will be great for making new friends right here at home, as well as learning about a new culture. I am very excited at the prospect.
    Here goes day one.

    Hi, is it necessary to included the "dou1" in the "I drink coffee every morning"?

    • @CantoneseClass101
      @CantoneseClass101  3 роки тому

      It can be said without "dou1", but it's more natural with it.

    My middle name is Olivia. Question: when the Cantonese word you use begins with C, it sounds like you begin word with T or D. Is that my ears hearing wrong?

    • @CantoneseClass101
      @CantoneseClass101  4 роки тому

      In the Cantonese romanization system, c sounds similar to /ch/ in English, but the tongue is a bit more to the back. We have a lesson explaining all the consonants on our site, check it out when you have time, and get a free lifetime account :)
