Almost like it wouldn't affect me then the next thing I knew I was messed up. When I was seventeen I out drank a whole party of people. By the end of the night everybody was laying on the floor passed out and I was still just sitting there smoking. I can do this today. I can easily take five or six shots back-to-back and that is like a warm up for me. FYI I don't drink anymore but it still the same

I would advise you to not take my advice though. From what my doctor has told me there are not many people who can quit drinking with a snap of the fingers and not go into the dt's after a while. Personally, I believe it's more like 50/50.I know LOTS of people that drink but ONE THING FOR SURE, everyone that drinks are incapable of making good decisions. He was supposedly sober when we were together. He was obviously a cheater and we broke up after a couple of months. Still loved him. He died six months later. He picked the bottle back up, his dad died and obviously got into trouble. It’s a weird reality knowing I dated such a troubled person. He deserved a whole lot better.

I have a friend like this, she would almost always get blackout drunk because no amount slowed her down. She was tiny too, and even big dudes were under the table. Half Irish half Salvadoran, probably didn't matter though. You could always tell when she slipped into blackout because she got super honest and less subtle. The crazier thing was she never seemed to get hangovers, she would always be the first up in the morning, making breakfast and leaving glasses of water with people out on the couches, she was really nice most of the time. Of course, I had to carry her out of several bars, and every time a bartender or door guy was like "yeah, we were just about to cut her off/throw her out" and I was like "nah, I know when she's done". She never really drank water either, just juice and beer and occasional soda.. When we finally convinced her to start drinking more water (mostly by finally showing her video of some of her blackouts in an intervention style setting), it sort of improved....but she also seemed like she drank alcohol faster until after a couple weeks, being hydrated all the time she started drinking less, started exercising and, well lets just say her work life and choices in men have improved dramatically haha it was quite a profound and inspiring change to witness. When I first met her I thought she was a total sociopath, because I didn't know her sober then and chronic blackout drunks tend to be a bit pathological, but then I realized she's just a depressed girl who can drink like a fish, luckily she had a lot of friends who were willing to sit her down hard but also support her

I would know when to quit before blacking out and I never once got a hangover as long as I drank 2 huge glasses of water before bed. I would drink everybody under the table and then come back and help put everyone to bed.
I'm not saying it to brag. Just to highlight how lonely you can feel when you haven't found someone who can drink like this with you.
Turns out I had this gene.
I went to two weddings a week apart and both times I blacked out and woke with a hangover and vomit on my shirt. That was all I needed to quit drinking forever. 10 years sober. I have serious social anxiety and brain errors, but when I drink, it all pretty much disappears. I drink about once a month. The rest of the time I don't see anyone or barely even leave the house. So people know me as the outgoing social extrovert who makes friends everywhere I go, but really I speak approximately once per month, drunk, and the rest of the time I hide in my house, barely capable of forming a sentence. Just today I had a plumber come in, and it took me about 30 words to say something simple, because I couldn't find the words. A really funny example of this was when a girl sent me a message that she wants to fuck. I thought she was joking so we met up, and then I found out she was serious. The only thing I managed to fuck was up. She never called me again. We talked and she said she had thought that I was a total fuckboy or something, when I am the absolute opposite. This whole thing made me realize what a duality I live in, and how nobody on planet earth knows who I am, not even my friends, really.

This explains my husband so much. I'm definitely not this 8%. But when we used to drink a lot he would be downing cases and fifths and be more and more energetic and happy. I'd black out and he'd be more present than when he's sober and have no memory problems after. Opioids effect him differently as well. He's done trough and peak tests and apparently his liver kicks out most of the drug so when he used to be on those medications he would have to take what the doctors called a "lethal dose" for it to even touch his pain. His body is crazy.

@@thefryinator7774 it's amazing what the human body can do. And for the 8%, like our husbands seem to be in... their bodies are even crazier! 🤣. He was drinking by himself at a small beach that isn't very well known. A cop noticed he was there and they got to chatting. My husband continued to drink his 12 pack as they talked. It was obvious that he was alone and had driven himself to the little beach so when the beer was gone and he was ready to head home (about a 3 mile distance) the cop didn't want him to drive (obviously). He did a sobriety test and my husband passed with flying colors. 😂. He had just drank a 12 pack in less than an hour! And he always drank Space Dust which is an IPA with pretty high alcohol content as far as beer goes. But anyway, the cop was amazed and let him drive home. But followed behind him the whole way just in case.
My husband stopped drinking as well. He knows if he were to take one sip of beer or liquor he'd be drinking non stop like he used to. So because of that I stopped drinking, too. I have a couple shots of whiskey hidden but it's been hidden for over 5 years now. I think it's time for me to just throw it out. Hahaha! Here is to both our husband's kicking the habit! 🥂

@@wraithlaceration625 I definitely recommend not testing how much it actually takes to get drunk. There are people like my husband that just drink and drink and drink without much happening (like I previously described) and there are others that will drink a ton and feel little to no effects for a long period of time so they drink more, trying to at least catch a buzz, but then their body seems to somehow take all the consumed alcohol at once and the person ends up in the hospital, possibly dead.
Oh, and of course. Don't drink because you're underage. Blah blah blah. Lol. Nobody should drink, over 21 years old or not. It's just a dumb thing to do. I have been analyzed for this and he is 100% correct. I’ve drank 3 bottles of jack, had wine, beers, seltzers, etc, and I’ve never had a DUI, ticket, DIP, or ever blacked out. I’ve had people not want to drink with me anymore because I just keep going for hours. I admit I’m a bit of an alcoholic but, when I drink in large quantities I don’t slur my words, I don’t stumble, and I seem sober. It’s weird really. The biggest anomaly is being able to play CoD, or other video games, or preform my job/daily tasks more efficiently as well as socialize effectively while extremely intoxicated. I’ve worked for about 13 years now and I’ve been intoxicated for almost every shift, own two businesses, a house, and maintain a stable relationship and no one knows the difference besides my partner or friends.

There’s also the opposite, there’s literally people who’s bodies work like a brewery, to the point that if they eat certain foods their body can “brew” it into alcohol to a point that they die from alcohol poisoning. Saw a video recently of a woman who was pulled over and found to be 33x the legal drink drive limit, but she appeared pretty much sober because her body had been brewing alcohol since she was a kid so she was almost immune to the effects.

I have been sober for 7 months now. Alcohol made me feel so wonderful, it was insane. My buddies would drink 8 or so, and be ready for bed. I would go through a 30 pack in one day pretty easily, sometimes more. It would work like caffeine for me. I'd start drinking at 3pm, and sometimes drink until 7am. I would get to a point where I couldn't get drunk, but all of life felt good. I still miss it, and I think just being that "high" messes with you psychologically. I always feel like I'm missing something. However my relationships with family has improved drastically. I feel like a better son, father, friend, etc. My work is a lot better. My depression is nonexistent, and the sleep is so much better. Really wish I would have never touched alcohol. Even 1 drink is literal poison.
