I feel like ideally there would have been four palettes for four different skin tones. The other palette would have been shade 1, this would have been shade 3, and then there’d be a shade between them and one deep enough for darker skin tones.
@Lizabeth Huntley That’s a great point. Even though I’m fair/medium I have green/olive undertones. Icey or bright pinks look hysterical on me like I’m a little girl trying on Mommy’s make-up.
While this palette has nicer eyeshadow colors, the lighter version would have been more flattering on you. Since, your complexion is overall lighter, than this palette is geared towards. I love that eyeliner on you, though. That metallic copper makes your eyes pop.
I think you're right, the complexion powders would have been better in the lighter palette. I can still use the bronzer and brush on the eyes so I guess I'm looking at it as another eyeshadow palette instead lol I think the lighter palette eyeshadows would have been too similar to my other CT palettes. xx
I absolutely agree this palette was way too dark for you. I noticed that you dunked the brush into the bronzer several times. I think had you dunked once then built it up it would of worked better. I do appreciate that you didn’t give up and tried to make it work. I am skipping this palette and now buying those eyeliners you used! Lol

The bronzers in her new palettes are from the Filmstar bronze & glow palettes; just in case anyone was wondering. I wish they were from her airbrush line but that’s just me. Hopefully she listens to feedback & adds at least 2 other colour ways. Thanks for your insights, Erin! Always appreciated.
I bought the lighter version this year and thinking about getting the darker one now. I look it for travel and trying to get ready quickly. I’m a light Med NC25. I’m wondering if using the blush with a sponge would tone it down. One more question. Are you tanned or using self tanner. Wondering if that is making a difference with the bronzer

Well, I guess I’ll be passing this one up and instead I’ll be getting the Light Glam Face palette from Natasha Denona. I already have Charlotte’s Airbrush Flawless Finish powder and her beauty wand in Pinkgasm, I will be getting her Airbrush bronzer soon too, so after getting the Natasha Denona face palette I’ll be set! :) The only palette that I also need is a cool toned one and I think I’m going to go with Natasha Denona Glam palette. So exited to get all this new makeup with my next paycheck! :) xx
I have watched several videos on this palette, but yours was definately the most informative for me. I loved both the new Instant Looks in a palettes in person, while walking by them in Nordstrom last week. I held off buying one because could not decide between the two and had already spent too much money to buy both. I felt the lighter one was just too light for my taste, but the darker one was too red or brick toned. I also have an olive toned medium light skin and I would so love to find a great travel palette, as I do travel quite a bit. I already have CT's Stoned Rose palette, which I love, but feel is too orange for me ideally speaking. After watching this video, im leaning towards the lighter one, but I so badly wish CT would make one for medium skin that pops with color without the red/orange undertones. If you know of any other travel palettes you love, please let me know. Thanks for your great video.
We use the same foundation shade and I had the same issues with this palette. Definitely not using the highlighter. Will try the eye right as a highlighter instead. Thanks!
I love the instant palettes. I use the colors where I want & especially if I’m in a hurry I open it & can get ready faster. I have less choice, so I don’t waste time deciding what to use. I’m getting one for each of my daughters. One daughter is pregnant so she can take it to the hospital if she wants a bit of make up for pictures.
The Marc Jacob's Eye Liner elevated your look X 30!....as a subscriber, I have to admire your diplomatic approach to neither giving a thumbs up or down, but stating the colors chosen can be duped. I know for myself the palette colors are a bit lackluster, so I would hold off on being constricted to the choices for this palette, but I enjoy most of her products.

Definitely! I'm using it more for the eyeshadows than the bronzer. The blush is OK but the bronzer/highlighter are better on the eyes for me. The light palette complexion powders would have been perfect! xx

Erin, I was so excited to see that you picked up this darker palette. Most reviewers are doing the lighter one. I like the idea of the palette for traveling, but I’m not sure about it for your lighter skin tone. I think you could make anything work, though!
I would have picked up the light palette but the eyeshadows just didn't do anything for me :/ I've been using the deep palette almost everyday now and I really like it! I can use the blush, just not the bronzer so it works. xx

This palette is definitely for a darker skin tone. I think you would really enjoy the other palette better. Still I enjoy all your videos .... you are the sweetest lady. At the end of the day makeup is fun and it is lovely seeing you figure out how to use something that isn’t quite a good fit. We have all been there for sure
I’m sorry to hear you get roasted that’s awful! I bought a pillow talk palette and found it very red and warm- I’m dark haired with warm tones and the shades suit me but I didn’t want those I wanted more nudes and pinks. CT is not worth the money in my opinion but I end up liking the products despite them not being what I wanted! I think red heads look great in them
It looks really pretty but since I already have the pillow talk quad, pillow talk instant eye palette, pillow talk pops palette... I was hoping to get something a bit different :/ I think I'll skip it since there are soooo many exciting launches coming soon! xx
Erin, thank you for this review! The palette looks pretty,but it is an easy skip for me. The shades are repetitive and nothing really excites me about it . Maybe because I already have the other CT Instant face palette like that from a few seasons back. You created a beautiful look with it though! xx
That makes complete sense! Since I don't have any of the other face/eye palettes I wanted to pick up one of them to see what they are about I agree, the color story for both is repetitive. It's flattering, convenient for travel and I will get use out of it so I'm happy with the purchase overall :) xx

I agree, they need more option for deep skin tones. If I can still make this palette work for me, it's not dark enough to give range! xx
