I thought I answered your comment, for some reason. It's funny you mention this because I came across a thread on Reddit talking about how newer products without preservatives have started to develop mold for different people. You couldn't get me to get rid of MAC eyeshadows and some older powder products because the formulation was superior in longevity years back.

Just finished watching and I can't imagine being able to do this, you were so good! Even the "extra" products you were keeping and saying "bad gurl" for keeping them, I would probably be keeping everything because I'm so atached to stuff, it's annoying haha Hope you're feeling better about your collection now that you've curated it, you must feel so free and excited to explore your makeup drawers now 🥰
I love a good declutter, and you did amazing.. i literally spit my tea out when you commented on the loud engine go by and the reason I find it so humorous, is it is exactly what i say and think😂😂😂😂 love it
i have a dilema about getting rid of anything bc im very sentimental and want keepsakes for my kids one day, to keep and admire decades from now, especially stuff i used when i was really young, this color workshop green shimmer kahjal eyeliner without a lid i got for xmas at 12, dried up and unusable but i refuse to let it go
I'd suggest restricting yourself to a container per child, just having a limit helps. It's not a crime to keep things, it's normal to feel sentimental about things that bring up memories, but having a place that's overflowing with stuff is overwhelming. It's also known to be psychologically unhealthy.
I had to throw out over 20 of my Maybelline lipsticks I bought in 2016-17. It's weird but out of all the lipsticks I own Maybelline and Rimmel Kate collection lipsticks are the only ones that went 'bubbly' textured. All my MAC, Nars, Revlon, Loreal still look/smell/taste fine. 😅
When you say bubbly texture, is it like the sweat beads they develop or the spots? It's funny how some of them preserve better than others. I'm guessing the ones with more oils expire faster than dryer formulas.
@AlexaLikes yes bubbles like sweat beads. I bought heaps new Maybelline and Revlon matte lipsticks this year > will be interested to see if the Maybelline ones still expires the quickest. 🤔
I'm glad you are liking it! Based on the response on the polls I ran and bacause I wanted to get the declutter out of the way, I made one long video. :P
Finally finished it 😄 Awesome work you did there. I be need to do it as well. But I don’t have the collection you do! So far I’ve been doing it as I use my stash 😉

im ngl you are strong for being able to throw all that away i would have cried i cant ever let anything go
A while ago, I wouldn't have done this but in the last few years, I'm finding it easier to let go of a lot of things that no longer make me happy.
Ha ha same😅😅😅
Holy. Smokes. I’m so proud of you for decluttering!! You did great! Thank you for sharing it with us. 🥰🥰
Thank you. 😍❤️
i actually don't throw out old makeup or scrutinize it and now I'm thinking I should do my own declutter lol. wonder what my older lipsticks look like

I have to throw out mom's makeup after this and I'm dreading it. It won't be on camera, but this felt like a practice run 😄

Haha thanks. Yeah, Everytime I hear an engine it's my first thought
You can use WD40 to get the sticky layer off that black Nars packaging :)
Oh thank you, I need to check that out. I used a strong acetone for one of them and it worked, but it took some effort.
I always end up depotting my NARS blushes, that packaging is terrible. Not just the rubberized finish, but also the hinges break.
I have a few broken hinges too. It was silly for them to package that way, I wonder if the newer ones are better.

you were ruthless!!
I had to be, I was becoming overwhelmed haha

I have those matt lipsticks from essence at 54:10 as well, they still perform and smell perfectly fine for me
It's crazy how some cosmetics really last, other lipsticks smell like crayons after a year or two. Haha
Oooh, I started this video, am liking it so far. Then I noticed how long it is. I’m going to have to watch it in increments. I’ll be back 🌼
