    Imagine having an XX machine in school.
    That is what I dream about often because in my country (Czech Republic), there is only a single Pump It Up machine and it runs *Exceed*.

      Graphics is an Asus EN210
      Mobo is an Asrock G41C-GS
      Two sticks of 4gb PC3-8500 ram
      Please note: I found sources online that mentioned Asrock G41M-VS3 as motherboard for versions >Prime. However, Prime 2 WOULD NOT boot with this motherboard and DID boot with the G41C-GS. I don’t think this info is anywhere else online. Good luck.

      M0ST1CHU One other data point I can provide is that NX & NX2 will not boot on this setup. Both of those ran fine on the older motherboard & gfx that are stock on GX cab but unfortunately doesn’t seem to be backwards compatible, just fyi

    Hey do you have any links to the tutorial on how to buff the pads? Looking to make my pad shine! Much appreciated if you can help,
    Best regards @ketafol

    • @ketafol
      @ketafol  4 роки тому

      I’m sure there are are but I don’t think I went by any specific tutorial...
      This is what you need:
      A decent sander (circular probably > belt)
      An assortment of pads from grits in the hundreds to as high as possible. I think 8000 was as high as I went although I believe there is 10k
      -Take metal pieces off obviously
      -For triangle brackets, get a piece of wood and use a piece of plywood and dremel or something to cut out inlays for you to secure them down so they’re not skittering everywhere when you try to sand.
      -Pieces that have visible deep scratches will need to start sanding in the hundreds until smooth and matte finish
      -repeat
      -work your way up to finest grit for mirror finish
      -This can potentially be done with plexi pieces as well but you’re not likely to get as good a result as just getting some new plexi squares. Also, the wear & tear on plexi pieces comes from below, wearing out decals, which can’t be fixed, only replaced.
      Good luck! This part takes some work but it’s definitely worth it!

    Hi sorry if this is a little abrupt but I'm wondering if you're able to help. I play lead guitar in a band and I've been having trouble trying to find a venue for my band to play and coming up with a rig that doesn't require too many things to hook up, and in the previous shows that we played, we noticed that every time we played we did fine but then every time we had a drummer playing with us, the backing track wouldn't get loud enough that the entire show always ends up derailing. So we started thinking of having one of those Pump It Up cabinets and incorporate it into our live set, because not only do we constantly get told that we have to really go out of our way to have a crazy enough setup to get everyone's attention, we realised that Pump It Up is one of the rhythm games known for its skill-intensive gameplay, and one of these cabinets tends to be loud enough that we could play our guitar parts right next to them and we would still be able to hear the backing track, thus giving us the idea of using such cabinet as an instrument to replace the drums. I'm not so worried of having an updated version of the game as much as I am of having a version of the game where it's possible to have custom tracks/levels in the game because we need that to play our original songs. Which Pump It Up cabinet is ideal for us to buy? Our budget lies between $1.5K and $2.25K. -WintermintP

    • @ketafol

      Definitely depends on condition... This cab was in sorta rough shape (but fully functional at the time) and I think I got it for like $1500-$2000. I’ve seen people asking $4k for ones in good shape.

      @@ketafol ouch $1500-$2000 thats not worth it for a GX at all I'd say $1200 tops and if you look hard enough you can get one for super cheap i got my SD cab for only $300

      Nice UA-camr It’s been a while.... you may be right, might’ve been closer to $1000. I’d still say less than $1k would be a damn good deal if it’s in decent shape.

    How do you upgrade your monitor?

    • @ketafol
      @ketafol  5 років тому

      The MK9 is basically just a regular computer and has a standard VGA output. Any computer monitor or TV with a VGA connection should work. The only tricky part is modifying the cabinet so that it still looks good. Some people just remove the top of the cabinet and put a TV on top. I spent a lot of time with woodworking to make it look stock and have everything fit right. If you have a GX cab and a TV/monitor you want to try, just hook it up and see that it works. It should display properly without any mods.

    • @ketafol
      @ketafol  4 роки тому

      @@jimmypickle6557 Without being there my advice is pretty limited... but in the test menu of course you can do an input check, maybe it’s not even letting you do that though.
      That’s an odd combination of things that are out... kinda sounds like a fuse or something common upstream for several things to be blown at once. I think the power distribution for all of that comes from the same place in the bottom right of cabinet (in the GX, I’m not familiar with SX)
      I would say... check that area and make sure no blown fuses (step 1)
      Next, I would use a voltmeter and make sure that I’m getting power to each of the components that seem to be nonfunctional. If the board is getting power, all connections are correct, and it isn’t working, then unfortunately it may need to be replaced (that board). And you know how that goes: scrounge around on eBay or pay an absurd amount to an arcade vendor.
      Hopefully you’re dealing with a loose common power connection or a blown fuse. That would be my guess with all of those things out. Secondarily, if this is an old unit you just picked up, maybe something bad happened (power surge, water, etc.) that caused this.
      Let me know what you figure out, good luck.

      on a quick glance the subwoofer wire seem to have gotten cut and as for the neon i will assume the transformer may have died. but my big issue is the foot pads not working. how do i diagnose that, use the test menu? the game boots up and loads just no fat pad fuctionality.
