We start off in Cornwall at the Bodmin & Wenford Railway, looking at both the branches to Boscarne Junction and Bodmin Parkway, featuring GWR 5619 and 6435. Next we move to the Lappa Valley Railway, a delightful site well worth a visit. Sitting on part of the former Newquay to Chacewater branch line, there are three railways, the main line being a mile of 15inch gauge line, with half mile of 10 1/4inch gauge and a small 7 1/4inch gauge line.
Moving north into Devon we start off at the Dartmouth Steam Railway, running from Paignton to Kingswear (for ferry to Dartmouth), we see trains along the line, including at the classic Goodrington Sands seaside location, Churston station and Greenway. Moving up the River Dart from Dartmouth, we move to the South Devon Railway were we see another GWR 64XX in action in the form of 6412 along with 0-6-0 3205 around Buckfastleigh.
"Perchance it is not dead but sleepeth", the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway is slowly awaking from its long slumber and is a must visit when in North Devon. Running out of Woody Bay station, the line has reconstructed a number of original carriages and built a replica of the Baldwin locomotive 2-6-2T 762 Lyn (built by Alan Keef). We also have a look at Lynton, at the Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway. Finally in Devon, we take a trip to Beer to Pecorama.
Moving to Dorset, we visit the Swanage Railway, where we see SR 4-6-2 34070 Manston and U class 31806 in action. The line runs from Swanage to Harman's Cross, Corfe Castle and Norden.
The West Somset Railway, runs from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead, with intermediate stations at Crowcombe Heathfield, Stogumber, Williton, Doniford Halt, Watchet, Washford, Blue Anchor and Dunster. Locomotives in action include GWR 7828 Odney Manor (Norton Manor), 7827 Lytham Manor, 7822 Foxcote Manor, 6960 Raveningham Hall, LMS 4F 44422, S&D 7F 2-8-0 53808 & 53809, BR Standard 9F 92214 (as 92220 Evening Star) USA S160 5197.
Next we take a brief look at the Longleat Railway, at the Longleat Safari Park and the site of the Bristol Harbour Railway.
The Didcot Railway Centre is home to the Great Western Society. With the original locomotive shed and coaling stage as centre pieces, the site has two standard gauge demonstration lines, along with a short broad gauge line, where we see the replica 2-2-2 Fire Fly in action. We also pay a visit to STEAM at Swindon Works.
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway operates from Cheltenham Racecourse to Broadway, via Winchombe and Toddington. Locomotives featured include GWR 3850, 4270, 7820 Dinmore Manor and Black Five 45379.
Finally we pay a visit to the Dean Forest Railway. The line runs from Lydney Junction to Parkend, via Norchard and Whitecroft. Locomotives featured are Metropolitan No. 1, GWR 2-6-2T 5541, LSWR 2-4-0WT 35087 and T9 4-4-0 30120.

With my move to a 4K camera in 2018, this seemed like the perfect opportunity for a series of compilation videos with my archived pre 4K material. Steaming Along is a series of compilation videos looking at the key locations and locomotives on some of Britain's best preserved railways.
This latest episode of series 2 of Steaming Along, continuing a look before I moved 4K. This series will have episodes focused on Main Line Steam, Capital Steam, the Lake District, the North East, the South and the Great Little Trains of Wales.
    Series 2:

Just realised the Lappa Valley railwqy was the first (and so far only) heritage railway I ever went to. I was 3 at the time and I remember Ruby but I could never remember what the railway was called. 13 years later I finally found out. :D
