I lived in Tucson for almost 15 years, Mt. Lemmon in a unique high elevation oasis. One of the coolest things I saw were a family of coatimundi on Mt. Graham.

Love your videos, can't wait till you're both retired and road tripping/birding all the time!

Instead of retiring we’d rather just do this as a full time job!

I love the drive up Mt Lemmon. One of my favorite birding spots during our SE AZ trip. Thanks for bringing it back to mind.

"I was excited to see a pygmy nuthatch" was hilarious to me because I live in the middle of a city and still regularly get them in my tinie tiny yard!

It isn't just finding awesome birds but the beauty of your surroundings I mean the lake is amazing ! Got to say the Red Faced Warbler was my favorite but the hummingbird how cool was that !

Wow ! I litterally just got back from SE Arizona 2 days ago 🙂 What an awesome place ! I came home with shots of 24 lifer birds !!! ....which just means I'm not near as experienced as you guys 😀 lol
Yea, the Yellow Eyed Juncos we're super cool.
I am totally anxious to go back. Still need a Red Faced Warbler, a Varied Bunting, and a Trogon 🙂 Great video! TY 🙂

I'm moving back down from Illinois to Tucson next month. Can't wait to get back out to sweetwater, patagonia, madera canyon, and mount lemmon again. Looks like you guys had an awesome time. I haven't birded mount lemmon much yet, so I'm excited to check it out for once.

Very nice. I wonder how Mt. Graham in SE AZ is for birding? The pavement goes to 9,000ft and there's gravel to the 10,700ft summit where observatories are. It's more remote and less touristy than Mt. Lemmon. There are no shops on the mountain I think. It has the highest population density of Black Bear in the southwest, so there's that too :)

Olive Warbler was my most wanted when I visited Mount Lemmon unfortunately no luck. The Olive’s eluded me on my last trip to SE AZ. Red-faced was high on my list too but I got that at Miller Canyon-great bird!

Awesome place! I want to go there now, too. I just got my lifer Pygmy nuthatch a few months in Colorado. You can find a lot of cool and unique birds in higher elevations out West.

    • @BadgerlandBirding

The elevation differences were something new to us as we don’t really have drastic changes like that in WI

I still need Red-faced Warbler. Ill be surprised if I get one next week, as we are on the tail end of them.
But hey, i think i saw something in your video that i didn't know.... correct me if I'm wrong, but the bright red in their face and head appeared to be irredescent ? Somewhat like the gorgette of many hummers ?

Hi, I have a question. How do you connect with other birders and get quick updates on rare birds in your state/area?

    • @BadgerlandBirding
      @BadgerlandBirding  2 роки тому +1

It depends on the state. In WI we have Facebook groups and an email list along with eBird alerts. There are also ABA rarity Facebook groups too
